Glenn Beck’s Red Scare Revival 2009 continued on his FNC program today where he named the names of the Marxists in the Obama administration. Beck named Van Jones, Mark Lloyd, Carl Browner, and Cass Sunstein as Marxists because they support social justice and environmental justice. In Beck’s mind, any progressive cause is Marxist.

Beck said, “These are all people who are into social justice, environmental justice, redistribution of wealth. That’s Marxism. They may not only love Mao, but some of them love Castro. They love Che and Chavez. People like Van Jones, Mark Lloyd, Carol Browner, and Cass Sunstein. Honestly, honestly, we have been so lacking in our charge of vigilance in this country, we got fat and lazy. We didn’t think anybody inside would ever hurt us that those names of Chavez, and Castro, and Che, they’re just images on t-shirts now.”
He continued, “The video that I am going to show is video that I will show you if you needed more evidence that the enemy is not only in the gates, they are inside the house, because Che is a little more than a cool t shirt and Mao is just a little more than a statue you might recognize and buy in a gift shop in San Francisco. You have to, we’re not teaching this in school anymore.”
Wow, I didn’t know that they sold Mao statues in gift shops in San Francisco. They are probably right next to the Barry Bonds bobble heads. I can’t believe that anybody buys the stuff that Beck is shoveling. Marxists? Really? This is the big threat to America. Beck is correct. We aren’t teaching this in school anymore, and for good reason too. The Cold War is over. There is no Red Scare anymore. Mao is dead. Castro is a weak old man, and Chavez is a loony tune. If this was 1961, we could talk about the Marxists, but in 2009, this is more than a little corny and outdated.
This may come as a surprise to Republicans, but conservatives redistribute wealth too. They accomplish their goals for tax cuts for the wealthy. In fact, the whole philosophy of trickle down economics is a redistribution of wealth from the middle and bottom to the top. Only when millionaires like Glenn Beck get the money, that’s capitalism, but when everyone else gets a little bit, people like Beck cry Marxism.

Ok, lets say they were Marxist. So what? Glen’s a Fashist, but won’t openly admitit. Ostly because that would confuse his audience on the subject. Its not taught in school because Glen Beck and his regime took it out of school, let people understand what Marx and the true communist party were about. If his listerners were better educated, they would rebolt.

The writer of this article is MISSING THE POINT! Totally. It doesn’t matter if some of these dictators are dead, and some are old. The POINT IS that their ideas are still very much alive. It’s the ideas of Communism/Marxism/Socialism that we are concerned about. Marx has been dead for many many years, and long after his death people have died as a result of his ideas and works, namely the Communist Manifesto.
