Cindy McCain Attacks Michelle Obama’s Patriotism Again

ImageToday, at the Miami, FL McCain rally, Cindy McCain revived her attack on Michelle Obama’s patriotism by saying, “And yes, I have always been proud of my country.” You can always tell when a political campaign is desperate because they try to resuscitate old attacks that they believe worked in the past.

During the primaries, Michelle Obama raised a bit of controversy by saying at a campaign event, “For the first time in my adult life I am really proud of my country because it feels like hope is finally making a comeback.” This led Cindy McCain to introduce her husband at a rally by saying, “I am proud of my country. I don’t know about you, if you heard those words earlier, I am very proud of my country.”

The point that Mrs. McCain was trying to make by comparison was that Michelle Obama does not love America, and if she doesn’t love America, then her husband doesn’t love America either. This all feeds back into the you can’t trust Obama because he is a terrorist who doesn’t love America smear that the Republican Party and the McCain campaign are running on. It seems that no matter how much the polls show that these attacks actually help Obama, the McCain campaign is hell bent on pressing onward with this negative path.

These negative attacks are the best thing that the Republican Party and McCain could do to help Obama, because they reemphasize his point that McCain is the politics of old, and he represents a new kind of politics. The Republicans are running the same campaign in 2008 that they have done for the past 3 election cycles. Voters can see that the Republican Party does not represent change.

As far as Michelle Obama’s patriotism is concerned, I thought she put that discussion to bed with her performance at the Democratic Convention. This is just another extension of the old Michelle Obama is a radical who hates America smear that was going around this summer. The McCain campaign is starting to repeat itself daily. Do you think that they have run out of ammo for these attacks? I know that they would never stoop this low, but if they get desperate enough, they may need to talk about policy.

I’m sure Cindy McCain is proud of “her ” country; since she believes that her and her cronies own most of it.

I wish that the McCain’s had attacked the Bush’s like this in 2000. The Bush people sure did attack McCain and his family back then. I mean they really dumped on him. I guess that the McCain’s feel it worked for Bush and Company back then, it might work now on the Obamas.
It’s kinda sad to see a man like McCain sell his soul to the bible pounders and far right kooks. He use to be a man of honor.

As a former 45 year Arizonan, and Christian, do take offense to those who believe McCain’s constituents are the “far right bible thumpers.” Actually, his constituents are the large developers and contractors who are profiting from this war, and buying up America piece by piece and selling it to foreign interests. I’ve heard the McCain rhetoric for over 20 years, and what he says now has nothing to do with what he will do once he gets the prize – and, truth be told, has a Napoleon complex.

I’m no Obama supporter, but a true conservative who would like to see some semblance of our Constitution back again. And the truth of what happened with the Keating disaster and that bailout, and his involvement and the legislation that passed quietly thereafter which allowed these large banks and financial institutions to run amouk is coming home to roost today….and was precipitated by Keating, and we have now “bailout” even larger institutions than those in the 80′s. McCain’s a lackey for the big business developers and Israeli lobby – and actually never was an Arizonan, and have betrayed his constituents there over his stance on border security and enforcement – while thousands of his fellow Arizonans have lost their lives and property to just this situation. He’s ready to secure and defend Israel, but not his own state residents.

    Sick man, actually…
