On Fox and Friends this morning Steve Doocy and Gretchen Carlson, along with guest Michele Malkin freaked out because the White House served acorn shaped cookies at their holiday party. Malkin said, “This is either a very tasteless joke or just completely tone deaf.” Somehow the cookies apparently contain a political message.

After the intro Michele Malkin said, “This is, I wonder what kind of bitter flavoring was in that cookie. This is either a massive amount of tasteless. This is very tasteless joke or just completely tone deaf. I was on Twitter when Steve King put that up there and put the pictures on it, and just to be serious here for a moment, the Obama administration and team’s ties to ACORN remain, and this is the line of investigation that still has to be looked into the $800,000 that they funneled into an ACORN front group, and yet they’re on the war path now trying to rehabilitate the image, claim that they have been absolved by a quote unquote independent committee that happened to be backed by ACORN.”
Steve Doocy added, “But acorn belongs on the Thanksgiving menu or the fall menu, this is the Christmas holiday. If the White House pastry chef is watching right now, could you please call me? I’ve got some ideas for some snowflake cookies or some snowmen.”
Somehow Fox News managed to take a story about acorn shaped Christmas cookies and turn it into more fear mongering about ACORN, and falsehoods about Obama and the group. Only the paranoid right wing mind could possibly see some sort of hidden meaning in Christmas cookies by that is exactly what Rep. King and Fox News have done.
and somebody doing the party planning at the white house has a really dry, wry sense of humor.
I can only imagine, given the understanding of what kind of wackos there are at Fox News, and Limbaugh’s organization as well, that the reaction may have been anticipated.

Faux news has got to be the MOST biased channel on TV. It is Soooooooo funny to sit and watch, it’s better than the comedy channel. I think it was a great idea that the W.H. made the cookies, KNOWING that the far right conservative hags would jump on it, and then a MAJORITY of Americans will really see just how unpatriotic the lying hags are, and how biased they are. You have some of the faux fans that are just as STUPID as the people at faux, were prob sitting on the edge of their seats just believeing everything said, what a bunch of DOPES!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can see the humor in the “news” team at Fox getting all in a lather over the WH’s choice of holiday cookies, but what’s not funny is the incessant slandering of an organization that has done a tremendous amount of good in helping poor and marginalized people.
