Only Fox News could possibly label President Obama’s comment that America has shown arrogance in the past as a controversy, but the network is all a tizzy, because Obama condemned former President Bush’s black hat/white hat foreign policy. Of course they leave out Obama’s remarks that also criticized Europe’s anti-Americanism.
Here is the video compilation courtesy of Think Progress:
The video features former Bush administration officials Karl Rove and John Bolton, along with GOP second and third stringers Mike Huckabee and Steve Forbes. There is also right wing talker Michael Medved, and, of course, the centerpiece of the attack is FNC’s own Sean Hannity. The problem with the FNC attack is that it completely leaves out the rest of Obama’s remark made at a town hall meeting in France.
What FNC is ignoring is that Obama also said, “But in Europe there’s an anti-Americanism that is at once casual but can also be insidious. Instead of recognizing the good that America so often does in the world, there have been times where Europeans choose to blame America for much of what’s bad. On both sides of the Atlantic these attitudes have become all too common.” I don’t remember any Republican president going to Europe and calling them out on their anti-Americanism.
The right wing is so desperate for something to use against Obama that they are more than happy to slice his comments in half, and use their editing as an attack against the president. This is a tried and true Republican tactic. Any Democratic president that is popular internationally is deemed to be less patriotic. Notice that this standard doesn’t apply to popular Republican presidents. If a Republican president is liked by the international community, they are statesmen. It is kind of sad to watch the right wing flailing and grasping at anything to use as a weapon against Obama.

There is nothing bad in what he didi.It is all good for America. The ice between USA and Europe should be melted so that they can work together. If europe is our friend or at least ally-not our buttler- then you need to be sincere with your friend and acknowledge your mistakes, while reminding his mistakes in asincere way, so as to strengthen your relationship with them.Am I right? Unless what you said comes from the mentality that we don’t need Europe to fight against terrorism, and Europe has to bow to us. Well that was longtime ago my friend.Go and update your clock.

Well he sure did a great job of selling out America in order to suck up to the Europeans. Apologizing for America, getting really nothing FOR America out of trip except more media love for *him*, apologizing for America, ‘arrogant’, etc.
In the end, we see Obama acting more like *UN* leader than *US* leader, bending over backwards to be fair to everyone except USA. Not good for USA in the long run, Obama needs to realize – the only leader who will stick for USA is the American President – if he doesnt do it, its a green light for other nations to dump on us like suckers. Actually a pretty sorry performance, the conservatives turned out to be right.

What you said isn’t correct. There are blames on both side of the world as obama pointed out. People like you and fox news always take this negatively bec you could not comprehand wht obama did. He restored U.S. to its former golory as being one of worlds super powers. He brought respect back to U.S, now people around the world will have something to look towards us as human beings. The only to to receive respect to give respect.
