A tip of the hat to the senator from Connecticut for killing the first chance we’ve ever had for meaningful health care reform….

Honestly, has there ever been as vengeful a little gnat as Joe Lieberman? You’d really have to search the archives of history pretty thoroughly to find someone comparable. There are many reasons why Al Gore was defeated in 2000 by a half-witted frat boy like George W. Bush. One of the main reasons was the abysmal choice of running mate Lieberman.

It was obvious during the debate with Dick Cheney during that campaign that comical Joe was a useless drag on the ticket. When Cheney said that his success in the private sector had nothing to do with the government, Lieberman let the statement stand. Cheney made his fortune at Haliburton because of Government contracts! Government had everything to do with it! Did he purposefully sabotage the Gore campaign? Maybe it’s pure paranoia on my part but a case could be made that he did.

Say it ain’t so, Revoltin’ Joe.

  3. [...] Bill O’Reilly Attacks Al Franken for "Disrespecting" Joe Lieberman http://www.politicususa.com/en/Franken-O-Reilly – view page – cached On his Fox News program tonight Bill O’Reilly revived his years long feud with Sen. Al Franken by jumping into the Franken/Lieberman fray. O’Reilly said, “Franken’s actions were mean, petty, and disrespectful…It’s incredible the man is even sitting in the Senate.” It must eat Bill-O [...]

McCain did the very same thing, to then Senator Mark Dayton of Minnesota back in the early Bush admin era.

Must be a case of either rampant, raging hypocracy, or maybe he’s just too old to remember his own conduct. Old people tend to remember the good old days (accurately or not) and not to be able to remember more recent events.

Come to think of it, that might explain a lot about McCain’s buddy Lieberman forgetting conveniently, selectively, his support for expanding medicare to more people just a few months ago as well.

Quick, Help! These poor senators are clearly in need of medical intervention for their problems with memory loss!

Several democrats also believe that Al Franken, freshman senator, was disrespectful in his overturn of decades of tradition because he disagrees with a man he usually agrees with. Normally, the senator would be allowed to finish. That’s why the dems threw Lieberman under the bus; they figure anyone who has an alternate opinion or isn’t “with the gang” shouldn’t be allowed to speak. Bill O’Reilly may be a lot of things, and Franken may be a nemesis, but clear thinking people will generally agree that Franken acted unexpectedly disrespectful. Strange problem to have with Bill O’Reilly. You should maybe try something he was actually extreme on.

He just hates Franken because Franken is somebody he can’t intimidate, and he’s threatened by Franken’s obvious intellectualism. Low-minded people usually are.

There’s indeed no reason on earth why Sen. Lieberman should not have been given another moment to finish his remarks.
