But the one that I live in pays tribute to those who did not return from the field of battle on Memorial Day, and those who did on Veterans Day. Maybe if you took the time to observe the days instead of looking at them as time off from work, you’d see the appreciation bestowed on all of those who served this country, dead and alive, and not try to co-opt it for a blog post.

All the coverage of Veteran’s Day tends to focus on the glory wars. When do we see coverage it doesn’t talk about the problems vets face, or even Vietnam vets. It is all happy coverage.

I live in the same America you do, where these days are treated like holidays, and Veteran’s Day doesn’t even get that treatment anymore as most private sector employees have to work. So I am in the wrong for trying to use the holiday as a way to raise awareness of the problems of some good people who are being ignored? That is certainly an interesting, and completely retarded opinion. At least instead of mindlessly waving the flag, I tried to do something, what did you do today? Oh, and how long did you serve in the military, my guess is that you didn’t.
