Obama should stage a LEFT-WING Jihad against the fascist GOP, surrounding himself with the Secret Service, FBI, Military, etc.

    Oh, wait a minute…

    JFK tried that…

    And was assassinated.

How is this different than what the Democrats did under Bush? Seems like a pot calling the kettle black…

It is different. The difference is that while Democrats attacked Bush primarily for his policies (starting illegal wars under false pretenses, trampling all over our Constitution, virtually ignoring our allies, his black/white view of the world, etc), the Republicans are primarily concerned with attacking Obama himself (He’s an evil, socialist, Muslim hell-bent on destroying America from the inside). That is the difference, at least as far as I can see.

This whole thing is one sided in Obama’s favor. What about the 3 trillion dollar deficit? Or unemployment going in to the double digits? Oh i know how to resolve that lets blame the republicans?

The only difference being Bush fabricated lies and brought our nation into war, doubling our national debt and killing American lives… All Obama wants to do -as far as I can tell- is improve quality of life in this country. A revised health plan will still cost billions less than putting fuel in thousands of tanks on the other side of the globe.

The housing and financial bubbles were massively inflated before Obama came into office. That’s like lighting the fuse and running away, letting the remaining people take the blame for the bomb.

Coupled with spending almost 5 trillion in Iraq and Afghanistan, I think the administration under Bush might have something to do with our problems now.

Wrong… President Obama’s *policies* (and those of the current congressional leadership) are being challenged! It is NOT an attack on President Obama personally… he appears to be a nice, well spoken man. If his policies were sensible and valued all human life, their would be very little to complain about. As it is, there is a huge amount to complain about. Candidate Obama (as opposed to President Obama) spoke of bipartisanship… President Obama has cut off contact and refused to meet with those who disagree yet want to move forward and he has played political hardball and tried to shut out dissent, dialogue and any reports that are not favorable. President Obama and the congressional leadership have damaged themselves with their own actions and attitudes…

Are you kidding me? Google “birthers”. Republicans just want to blame everything on obama so they can be voted in. They don’t care about whether the policies are correct or not, they just find ways to hurt his image.

3 trillion dollar deficit: You mean the Bush tax cuts on the wealthiest %’s? Or how about two wars? The Iraq war which had nothing to do with 9/11 or the Afghanistan one which he ignored and Obama has to clean up?

Unemployment: Yes, clearly Obama’s republican policies caused the economy to tank while Bush was a lame duck in office during election season. Totally his fault there.

Wow!! If you’re saying Obama racked up a 3 trillion dollar debt AND drove unemployment to double digits both in 1 year in office, then I say WOW! That is a lot of work for one guy in a very short timeframe.

Let’s says he actually DID that (yes, we’ve stepped into the twilight zone) then he’s got to be VERY talented and VERY powerful. I don’t know any other leader of this country or any other that took, what I’m assuming you regard as, a healthy economy at the end of 2008 and drove it into the ground in 1 year.

If he can do all that, then he’s more talented than JFK, FDR and Lincoln together! Talented towards destruction, but talented none the less!!

C’mon!! Really! You can’t actually believe what you wrote just now, can you? No one can do that much damage in one year. Isn’t it just MAYBE possible, that these issues were already in full blown bloom BEFORE he took office? I remember PRAYING for the end of 2008 for both of those reasons and more. I remember looking towards 2009 with optimism and hope and a sense of renewal. I can’t image why I would have those feelings for 2009 if 2008 was SO great!

Let’s call it what it is. Obama inherited a crack house and had a lot of work to do at the beginning of 2009. He’s done some, but this wreck will still look worse before it looks better. He’s gonna have to strip much of this house to the studs before he can fix, and that’s with the american people still living in the house. No small feat, I promise you. Give him more time and ask the hard questions when he proposes a new plan. But allow the man time and room to work rather than demanding a stop to the work he’s trying to do.

We are in a deficit and in record unemployment due to the short-sighted policies of the Bush administration, not because of ANYTHING that Obama has or has not done. Put THAT in your pipe and smoke it, drones!

Had to laugh a bit at that one. You dont actually believe that do you? How about the continual attacks saying he is muslim or socialist or the antichrist? Or if thats not enough how about the RECORD NUMBER OF DEATH THREATS the secret service has received?

“President Obama has cut off contact and refused to meet with those who disagree yet want to move forward and he has played political hardball and tried to shut out dissent, dialogue and any reports that are not favorable.”

Citation needed. Curious as to when this actually has happened aside from sensationalism on fox news. If that were the case the health bill would have already been passed but they tried to try and be bipartisan and join in on rational debate. This obviously didnt work considering the republicans basically just pissed in the pool while saying they want reform but attacking every form of it while the democrats bent over and took it even though they are the majority.

Now I may not be the presidents biggest supporter but it doesnt take more than a 5th grade education to see that rush limbaugh and company have been making up so much crap its hard to keep up with all the lies. The biggest joke of it all is that they have all these people worked up thinking they are going to lose their guns and money to the government when 99% of the people complaining dont make enough damn money to actually have to pay more in taxes. People who whine about taxes disgust me…yes its unplesant to pay them but thats part of living in a civilized society so get used to it and try not to be such a greedy twat.

the author of this piece should take a break from blowing the president to understand reality. the media love affair with Obama ended almost as soon as the inauguration was finished. Once they realized that he wasn’t the second coming of Christ, they put all the weight of the presidency squarely on his shoulders; right where it belongs.
As an American Libertarian, I don’t have much love for the right or the left, but I can tell you, the “Blame everyone except Obama” stuff is going to make him a one term president with ZERO accomplishments for the American public.

When Democrats take a beating from one news source (Fox News) the world is coming to an end. When the rest of the media attacked Bush it was perfectly fine. Here we are trying to find a way to spend every penny possible, provide fake healthcare reform which will cost everyone more, increase our energy costs if possible with cap and trade. You wonder why Obama is taking a beating.

We can only hope that one of these days the idiots that write these articles from the right and the left get a real clue. Neigher side actually cares about the people or the Constitution and what it stands for. It is all about power and money for themselves. Why do you think they have such low approval ratings in Washington.

We can’t continue to spend money we don’t have. Even the uneducated masses seem to understand that much. Too bad Harvard and Yale turns out the real idiots in our society. Guess they can’t teach basic economics anymore.

Obama would tear up the constitution if he could. Look at Health Care mandates. Forcing someone to buy a product. They compare it to auto insurance but you don’t have to drive a care. Plus insurers can drop you if you get a DUI or to many accidents, etc.

What’s next. Everyone complaining that they choose to not buy Life Insurance. Then the bread winner dies and they go bankrupt, etc. Now becuase they decided to buy a big screen plasma or a navigator that they could not afford and decided against paying for life insurance, everyone should have the right to life insurance.

HOPE is just an excuse to do nothing. Think about it. I could sit on my couch all day and hope to get a job. Hope to get an education. Hope to win the lottery. All of these take action in order to obtain them. Even buying the lottery ticket, so for anyone to just sit back and think HOPE is going to change anything….good luck!

Responding first to “How about the continual attacks saying he is muslim”"

Don’t know about you but the only person I’ve seen that actually claims it (as opposed to reported that someone else supposedly claims this), was a democrat who favored Senator Clinton. No one else has ever tried to get me to believe such an easy refuted claim.

I’ve not seen nor heard any GOP representative (meaning party reps or elected officials) make such a ridiculous claim that President Obama is a Muslim or the anti-christ. Socialist, possibly has been claimed (I honestly don’t recall), but I don’t see that as something to lump in with the other two anyway… Muslim he is not as he asserts a Christian faith and experience and anti-christ is more of a slur without any proof. Socialist is certainly something someone can be and depending on your perspective, being a socialist is a good thing. By the way, I am NOT asserting President Obama to be a socialist.

Also, on the death threats, I don’t know if your assertion is accurate or not, but I challenge you to prove that any of those threats came from the GOP or even right wing radio personalities or the average republican… unfortunately it is part of the days we live in that death threats are made (but thankfully rarely actually attempted). They are made against right wingers as well, but I don’t attribute them to the average democrat or leadership.

TIme and again republicans in congress have complained that they aren’t getting to be involved in legislation. The Republican Study Committee (~100 members of congress) have had their requests to meet with President Obama denied many times this past year… I don’t know the specific number (sorry). They clearly have plans and ideas to help solve the problems our country faces (whether they are the best/correct ideas is up for debate).

Please note, I am NOT defending the Republicans… they had an excellent chance to pass legislation related to health care (among other things) in the early 2000s and did absolutely nothing.

Fox News was clearly singled out in a reckless attack by the Obama administration. I realize it’s fun for people to call them Faux News, but their news is actually pretty decent (I said news… I do NOT watch/listen to Hannity, etc). Check out this paper for a look at news coverage http://www.cmpa.com/releases/07_12_21_Election_Study.pdf

There are other accounts of individuals (including democrats) that have been told to be quiet or suffer certain consequences. Clarification: I’m sure that the Obama administration is not the first nor the last to stoop to such tactics… it just makes me sad regardless of who is in power and especially sad due to the claims of change and a friendlier approach that President Obama had promised.

For personal info, I probably turn to NPR and Fox for news more often that others as I have found both of them to be pretty fair (especially when compared to other news outlets). Neither is perfect but neither is the boogie man it is made out to be (Fox by the left and NPR by the right).

As for the health care debate, I guess it depends on how you look at it because I saw a lot of pushing by the democrats and a lot of swimming against the tide by republicans (and some democrats). Personally, I could support a single payer universal coverage health plan in the US, BUT I simply don’t trust the current congress (all parties) and administration to do a decent job. I sure hope I’m wrong. I know that the current legislation is NOT single payer (and doesn’t even have a “public option”)… I’m just pointing out that I’m not opposed to a radical transformation of our health care system.

Taxes are a reasonable thing to pay (whether we like them or not), but it is also reasonable to expect wise spending and fair consideration of what an appropriate role for government should be. Also, it is rather poor of you to assume that 99% of the people complaining about taxes don’t make enough money to end up paying more in taxes. Even if it’s true, it seems pretty selfless for them to be looking out for someone else.

That said, I don’t think they are trying to smear President Obama, they just think he’s not a natural born citizen and therefore cannot be president. Are they missing the evidence directly in front of them? Yes. Are they missing it intentionally? I don’t know as I’ve never met one.

I was vehemently opposed to Bush’s policy, and am also opposed to Obama’s. What we need to do is revive our constitution, stop policing the world, abolish the federal reserve bank and retake our wealth and give Congress the power to print our money, as is mandated by the Constitution. These puppets play on partisan issues (that should be handled locally according to our constitution) like healthcare, abortion, gay marriage, yadda yadda yadda. All the while Bernanke is sending hundreds of billions of dollars to international banks, which he refuses to name, and the printing presses are running uncontrollably, which will inevitably lead to bankruptcy for our country. Every nation that has ever existed that has given a central, PRIVATE bank the authority to control the issuance of it’s currency (therefore controlling the value) has experienced economic collapse.

While I agree, politicians are politicians, the Republicans are unprecedented in their knuckle-dragging inability to communicate with the opposition. Democrats have historically been able to hold their noses and vote with Republicans in order to keep things moving, negotiations and all (and a lot of those votes were pretty horrible). The Republicans are making a point of not voting for ANYTHING that the Democrats bring to the table. Democrats have never done that.

I personally think that there should be rules about the political hindering of the people’s business. We are now witnessing the hostile takeover of a legally elected administration by thugs and bullies who cannot accept that the majority of Americans do not hold with their most important ideals.

Plus insurers can drop you if you get a DUI or to many accidents, etc” you right I would not know how to drive a care, as for the latter part of your statement yes they can drop you so are you upset that you have to buy insurance or are you upset that insurance companies cannot drop people anymore? ” What’s next.
