Obama is rooting for the Steelers in the Super Bowl

January 29, 2009
By

ImageAfter lambasting Wall Street bankers for giving themselves $18 billion in bonuses while taking federal bailout money, Obama was asked Cards or Steelers in the Super Bowl? The president wished Arizona well, but said that he is a Steelers fan.

“I have to say, you know, I wish the Cardinals the best. Kurt Warner is a great story and he’s closer to my age than anybody else on the field, but I am a long-time Steelers fan. Mr. Rooney, the owner, was just an extraordinary supporter during the course of the campaign. Franco Harris was campaigning for me in Pittsburgh. So –.”

Biden then reminded Obama that Steelers Coach Mike Tomlin also supported him. Obama continued, “Right, Coach Tomlin was a supporter. So I — you know, I wish the best to the Cardinals. They’ve been long-suffering; it’s a great Cinderella story. But other than the Bears, the Steelers are probably the team that’s closest to my heart.”

With this announcement President Obama will never have to worry about winning another vote in Western Pennsylvania again. He will have no trouble here ever again. Obama did get a ton of public support from Steelers owner Dan Rooney. This was newsworthy because Mr. Rooney has never been very public about his usually conservative views. However, Rooney has long been a progressive voice of equality in the NFL, so it wasn’t a surprise that Obama would strike an emotional chord with him.

As a Bears fan, it makes sense for Obama to like the Steelers. The Steelers and Bears play the same tough blue collar style of football. The differences between the two franchises are that the Steelers have Big Ben and defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau, while the Bears can’t seem to find or keep a quarterback healthy. I must say that it is nice to have a full blown sports fan in the White House.

It certainly does help that Obama is a fan of my team, but even if he would have said that he was pulling for the Cards, I still would have been happy. W. always made these really bland sports comments. Obama has an opinion about everything sports, that makes things more fun.

Everyone in America needs to wake up and do the math. Get involved voice your opinion and vote.

The president is a good guy but whether you are a Dem or Repub, right or left, sports fan or not there is one thing that should concern you.

    That is the math.

Less than 1 million foreclosures * less than 1k per month to stop them is 1 billion per month or less than 12 billion per year.

So less than 18 billion would have stopped every foreclosure in America. Or at least 1 million people were directly effected so that less than 100′s of people could make outrageous sums of money given to them from the bail out. Those same 1million peoples taxes along with your taxes and everyone you know taxpayers money, paid for the 18 billion dollars in bonuses. What craziness!!!!

The math demands something be done.

The math is simple if those 1 million people plus marched up to wall street and demanded there money back I am not sure anyone could stop them or feel that they should be stopped.

The bailout is a lie, the media is lying about the fact that banks need money because of the foreclosure problem.

The banks are giving the money to greedy people while the poor give them the tax money to do it.

Again the math is simple. Right now every person in America has to pay over $100,000.00 to pay for all this mess and the bill will be going up at about $50,000.00 per year or worse.

The math is either we are going to have inflation or the $ will be worthless.

    The math does not lie.

Everyone needs to get involved and concerned immediately.

    The super bowl is important.

The math is devastating and can not wait!
