OBAMA LETTER TO SANFORD: IF YOU DO NOT APPLY FOR FEDERAL STIMULUS FUNDS, MONEY WILL NOT BE THERE

Among the numerous rumors swirling around Columbia is a report that President Barack Obama has told Gov. Mark Sanford that if he does not apply for federal stimulus funds, the money will not be available for South Carolina.

And The Palmetto Scoop has now confirmed that Obama has, in fact, sent Sanford a very blunt, personal letter saying just that.

The correspondence reportedly states that roughly $700 million in discretionary stimulus money allocated for South Carolina will be revoked on Friday if Sanford declines to accept the funds and that, by law, no alternative options can be accepted.

Mark Sanford is a big joke somebody needs to let him know no one in South Carolina is laughing. God have mercy on him this is surely racism. When Bush gave the checks last year there was no problem. I ask you now, what is the problem? We in South Carolina need the money stop acting foolishly. This is not about you it’s about the state of South Carolina and saving people jobs, considering the money will have to be pay back by our state whether or not we take it. Mark Sanford it’s a stupid decision don’t make my children pay for toys they never played with.

Mark Sanford, its a shame that Americans are so ignorant and simple minded to your debate over the stimulus package. How can you possibly hope to help anybody in the State by creating MORE debt. The Stimulus is a loan…yes hear me, a LOAN. Eventually, the money will have to be paid back, so honestly tell me the point of it without a plan for the future and ways to pay back the money? Let me give you a simple example…you own a home and you can’t make your payments so you go into debt, well the bank or “U.S. Government” comes and offers you ANOTHER loan for your home…so not only are you in the hole by however much you already owe the bank, you owe another loan on top. NOW, argue the stimulus package, can’t can you?
