On Sunday morning late term abortion provider Dr. George Tiller was gunned down while he served as an usher at church in Wichita, KS. While several anti-abortion groups have expressed their shock and dismay over Tiller’s murder, others such as Operation Rescue founder Randall Terry, and Operation Save America have blamed Tiller for causing his own death.
In a statement Terry said, “George Tiller was a mass-murderer. We grieve for him that he did not have time to properly prepare his soul to face God. I am more concerned that the Obama Administration will use Tiller’s killing to intimidate pro-lifers into surrendering our most effective rhetoric and actions. Abortion is still murder. And we still must call abortion by its proper name; murder.”
He continued, “Those men and women who slaughter the unborn are murderers according to the Law of God. We must continue to expose them in our communities and peacefully protest them at their offices and homes, and yes, even their churches.” There is a difference between protesting against someone, and murdering them.
Another statement of hate came from Operation Save America, “What was an abortionist doing “in” church, any church…being allowed, welcomed, even venerated? This man killed babies for a living. He charged large sums of money to do it. Then he went to “church,” made large contributions, and the “church” ( Reformation Lutheran Church) accepted it??” Pastor Mark Holick, Spirit One Christian Center, & OSA.
Rev. Flip Benham, Director of Operation Save America said, “No doubt the media will paint every Christian, who loves life and lives out that belief in the streets of his city, as a wild-eyed, lunatic, fanatic bent on shooting abortionists. They will attempt to silence the voice of many by using the violence of one. This ploy is the devil’s straw man.”
The people who are celebrating Tiller’s death are also claiming to be doing God’s work with their opposition to abortion. How can they not see the obvious hypocrisy in their positions? They should be appalled by the murder of another human being, no matter what he did for a living. Instead, they are frightened that Tiller’s murder will hurt their jihadist crusade against abortion.
For his part President Obama said, “However profound our differences as Americans over difficult issues such as abortion, they cannot be resolved by heinous acts of violence.” Obama is correct. Most anti-abortion groups were quick to put out statements denouncing the violence, but a few radicals think this is a day to celebrate, but I don’t think murder and domestic terrorism are anything that should be celebrated.

How hypocritical it is to denounce those who provide abortions as killers and celebrate someone who takes a life. Dr. Tiller’s death was caused by those who constantly incite fringe elements to kill with their rhetoric. I would love to see some of these groups come up with a plan to take care of a deformed baby that a mother is unable to care for or provide the funds for a mother who finds she cannot take care of the baby she is carrying. Set up sites where people can go and plan to give you the baby they are carrying . You will prevent abortions and not have to kill doctors who provide them. You can then bear the burden of caring for unwanted babies. Who wants to take me up on this plan?

Some of the anti-abortion groups are obviously gangs of terrorists disguised as Christians. And no, they don’t want to assume responsibility for any unwanted children. That would cost money and money is quite likely the God they truly worship. How many times have you walked into a church that wasn’t even half full and the first thing you see is “building fund”. Got to have a bigger church than the one down the street! And the over population of the planet continues!

I seem to be confused…Operation Save America ..isn’t celebrating George Tiller’s death…they are saying what is TRUE about the life he lived. He lived a life of KILLING babies…every day..
He was a mass-murderer.
This isn’t hate..it is truth.
Operation Save America IS appalled at the murder of ANY human being, born and unborn.

You are saying it’s ok to impose a death sentence to a mother, who would lose HER life if left to see her pregnancy to term.
Have YOU had a sister, or a mother, or a friend take their own life because the emotional turmoil of carrying their rapist’s child is too overwhelming ? That death is ok I suppose.
You people suffer from a sever case of tunnel vision.
You also have put God beneath you, while electing yourselves to make decisions for him. LIfe would be far more glorious if people didn’t think they had the right to impose their beliefs on others.

to Grossly Misguided: Considering that most abortions are NOT done on women who are at risk of death while pregnant….I think you should take a deeper look at the facts which are:
The reasons women give for having an abortion are they are concerned about the responsibility of having a child, they are a single parent and they cannot afford to have children. ONE PERCENT of abortions are on women who have been raped and SIX PERCENT because of the health of the mother.
We cannot play GOD. God is the author of life…and according to God Himself, life starts at conception. I am an abortion SURVIVOR..and have been in peaceful pro-life activism my whole life and have studied the facts for myself. I have seen with my bare eyes an aborted baby, and the sight is not pretty; it is horrific.
I advise you do look CLOSER. America will not end abortion until we see abortion.
As far as minding my own business….in the holocaust of the 1940’s many many people minded their own business..and it led to the death of over 6 million people. In America we have minded our own business and it has lead to the death of 50 million people.

This makes me really worry about pro-life groups…..how much of a dark underside is there? I can’t think of any pro-choice radicals ever murdering or threatening a pro-life figurehead or facility…..but there are WAY too many examples of it going the other way. As a society, I just don’t know what we can do to stop it….but we have to try.
