The GOP Swaps Gay Bashing for Islamaphobia
From Elizabeth Hasslebeck coming out to “admit” she’s always been for gay marriage to Ken Mehlman, senior Republican party figure revealing he’s gay—the signals are all there; the Republicans are comin’ a callin’ for the gay vote. If that wasn’t enough, the muted GOP reaction to a judge affirming gay marriage rights in California gave it all away. Continue reading

Republicans Support Strip Clubs on Ground Zero Sacred Ground
While the constitution forbids prohibiting a mosque from being built blocks away from ground zero (“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.”), Republicans are salivating at the prospect of ignoring the constitution (again) and using this for political hay. Apparently, the Family Values Party is not concerned with the strip clubs (like New York Dolls) that surround hallowed ground (after all, we all know that Hooters is a family restaurant and Fox News is not conservative day time porn), because nothing says Christian Values and Apple Pie like a strip club.

Crossing the Aisle in Defense of the the Social Contract
One thing I as a naturally and reflexively small-c conservative have always presumed to be a thing worth conserving is the Social Contract, in which it is recognized that we are all part of a society, that we are all interdependent and that our individual freedoms, our success, our personal welfare are indeed dependent upon the support of others. Fox News Hangs Sharron Angle Out To Dry
Fox News Network, the champion if not creator of the Tea Party, hung Tea Party “rape can be made into lemonade” nut job Sharron Angle (R-NV) out to dry earlier this week. Perhaps Fox is miffed over losing their favorite, the chicken lady, to run against that evil of humanity, Harry Reid and so felt compelled to use poor Sharron Angle to demonstrate their “balance” by annihilating her on Cavuto’s “Your World” Continue reading
GOP Uses Mama Grizzlies to Attack Women’s Rights
This week’s winners of the Patriarchy Award: Sharron Angle and David Vitter. Sharron Angle announced that she’s against abortion even when a girl is raped by her own father, and indeed, the Mama Grizzly Conservative suggests that said rape victims make “lemonade out of lemons”. But hold on to your outrage, my friends, because the compassionate conservatives also bring us David Vitter, who appointed a man who was found GUILTY of stabbing his girlfriend to be in charge of women’s issues.
Alicia Lewis: Victim of the Sarah Palin Attack Machine Speaks Out
An exclusive interview with Alicia Lewis, who found herself the unwitting victim of the Sarah Palin attack machine during the Palin Stanislaus speech shakedown. In the course of following a lead about documents which were being disposed of suspiciously, Ms. Lewis stumbled into the middle of another Palin drama and found herself being labeled a dumpster diver and “political operative” by Sarah Palin during Palin’s national speech last weekend. Continue reading

All American Coca-Cola Shuns a Toxic Glenn Beck
Ah, the sweet fizz of justice on a Friday morning. Yes, Coca-Cola, that all-American – dare I say REAL American?! – beverage company has decided that it is not right for their image to advertise on Glenn Beck. This is most upsetting for those who have been sneering at sane people everywhere that Glenn Beck is an entertainer for god’s sake, you over sensitive Lefty! Continue reading

Republicans Betray Americans by Killing Jobless Aid for Political Gain
Republicans just killed unemployment benefit extensions for Americans out of pettiness and with an eye toward political gain. They know that if the Democrats can’t help the economy by this fall, the Democrats will suffer at the polls. Continue reading
