On Fox News last night, Sean Hannity hopped back on the Obama birther train and claimed that it is not true that has Obama has shown us his birth certificate. Hannity claimed that he was born in the same year as Obama, but has anybody seen Sean Hannity’s birth certificate? After not keeping his promise to be waterboarded for the troops, Hannity’s patriotism is in doubt, so Sean, show us the birth certificate.
Here is the video of Hannity from Media Matters:
Sean Hannity said, “What are we to make of the question he’s raising? You know, John McCain had questions about whether he was born in America. Dick Cheney had to prove his residency in Wyoming. We want to take it back further, other presidents have been questioned about their residency. What wrong with asking, can you just show us the birth certificate? I was born in the same year as the President, 1961… I actually carry a copy of the Constitution and he’s a constitutional scholar, because in the Constitution it’s requirement that you be born in this country.”
Hannity claimed that he believes that Obama was born in this country, but that it is odd that Obama won’t produce the birth certificate. Interestingly Sean Hannity claims to have been born in 1961, and he wants us to assume that he was born in the United States, but I can find no copy of Sean Hannity’s birth certificate anywhere on the Internet. Sean Hannity’s Fox News bio makes no mention of when of where he was born. Hannity claims to have grown up in New York state, but as we know illegal immigrants flood into New York on a daily basis.
After dropping out of college, Hannity has a sketchy personal history of drifting across the country and working odd jobs as a general contractor and a bartender. This would appear to be the history of an illegal who is trying to avoid detection. Now don’t get me wrong, I believe that Sean Hannity was born in America, but the gaps in his personal biography raise some disturbing questions. Even more troubling are allegations that Sean Hannity promoted and held fraudulent “Freedom Concerts” that were supposed to have donated 100% of the proceeds to charity but appear to have done no such thing.
According to CREW Executive Director Melanie Sloan whose organization filed the FTC complaint against Hannity, “There is little more despicable than preying upon the generosity of Americans by deceiving them into believing they are aiding the children of killed and wounded service members when the truth is most of the money is going to a for-profit venture.” Sloan continued, “Americans deserve to know whether this high-profile charity allegedly dedicated to helping veterans and their families is really doing what it says it is.”
Hannity’s behavior was despicable and dare I say, un-American.
We also have the issue of Hannity promising to allow himself to be water boarded for the troops then going back on his word to our patriotic heroes in uniform who risk their lives daily for our freedom. On his Fox News program on April 23, 2009 Hannity agreed to allow himself to be waterboarded for a charity that benefits our troops.
Here is the video via Keith Olbermann and Countdown:
To this date, Hannity still has not been waterboarded for charity. Are these the behaviors of a real American? Would a man who truly bleeds red, white, and blue do such things?
Let me state again, I take Sean Hannity at his word. I believe that he is an American citizen, but the final decision doesn’t rest with me.
I am urging Sean Hannity to allow the nation to heal and put this question behind us once and for all. Sean, make your birth certificate publicly available. Not the short form, but the long form. Don’t post it on the Internet, or show to the camera on your TV show, but put it on public display and allow every American to see it with their own eyes. Only then can each of our individual doubts be erased. It is odd that you haven’t taken this simple step already.
Your audience deserves to know the background of the man who is coming into their living rooms every evening and talking to them.
All we are asking of you Sean Hannity is that you produce and show us your long form birth certificate. I am not saying that I have doubts, I don’t, but I have heard from several other Americans who do.
It is a simple request.
Sean Hannity, show us your birth certificate.

So Hannity is jealous of all the attention Donald Trump has been receiving of late?
And his college degree and also the birth certificates of all of the largest shareholders in Fox News’ parent corporation.
After all, we deserve to know where all of this anti-American information and unpatriotic defaming of our internationally acclaimed President is coming from – why these people see America so differently than you and I.
It seems like Fox’s agenda might be that of a nation who benefits if we remain dependent upon foreign oil…..
Great article, Jason:-) You said it all. Cue the satirically impaired wing nuts, stage right.
I have yet to hear anyone talk about knowing Sean in pre-school and kindergarten. That’s very strange. I did not go to the best schools, like Trump, but I still want hear stories about Sean playing with Legos and doing watercolor paintings. If Sean truly was born in this country, you would think that lots of people would be talking about his childhood. I find this all very odd. I want to see his birth certificate. I want to see his birth certificate
Exactly Jeffrey,
How can we be sure unless we see the long form birth certificate?
I want to see his birth certificate as well as the Birth Certs for Angle, Bachman, Palin, Paul, O’Donnell, et al., because I’m resurrecting the Earther movement. I want to make sure they were born on Earth.
Whose with me? Come on, join the Earther Movement!
HA! That is priceless, earther movement!
Great article and great snarkiness by one and all.
You bet I want to see Stupannity’s birth certificate – his marriage license, his kid’s birth certificates and most importantly, his UNION MEMBERSHIP(s) information, all of it.
I am with you! Earthers Forever!
Yep, I want to see his birth certificate too. I’m thinking Sean may have been born to jackals
and may have a 666 on his empty head. He could be sitting there in that chair at FAUX sending
out jackal signals to the idiots who regularly watch him and think he’s smart.
No more interviews with Sarah P., Sean, until you show that you weren’t born to jackals. And oh yeah,
that birth certificate better say NOT BORN TO JACKALS on it.
In addition to a birth certificate, I would like to see a document which would prove beyond a shadow of doubt that he is certifiable. The same goes for Beck, Palin, Limbaugh, Coulter,
O’Reilly, Bachmann, Boehner, Cantor,Huckabee, Trump, and various others.
You’re never gonna see Hannity’s birth certificate. Hatcheries don’t document their eggs.
Come to think of it, we can just call him Sean Hatchery until he shows it.
[...] Sean Hannity, Show Us Your Birth Certificate! [...]
Ok, Mr. Easly, this your best one yet! Helarious!
Good attempt at humor, but the main point is that Hannity isn’t the President, or even running for public office.
Actually I was trying to demonstrate the ease with which these sorts of arguments can be applied to anyone in any situation, but if Sean Hannity is an illegal then he is committing a crime, right? Just like Obama, right?
Then you’re not asking to see his birth certificate, you’re asking that he prove he is either a citizen or a documented alien – for no apparent reason. Is this something you think the government should apply to all people in the US, either randomly or under some sort of profiling? Or is this some special power only you should have ?
Dan, do look up satire honey.
Very funny! Thanks, I needed a laugh.
Show us your birth certificate Jason Easely…..
That would kinda miss the point of the satire cuz Jason isn’t on TV saying he can’t be sure the President was born here….
Sarah sweety…

Oopsie, Dan, you’re a jerk and now you’re gone.
I think that anyone who demands to see someone else’s birth certificate should be willing to show their own. Americans can be so stupid sometimes. A birth certificate is a legal document, and no citizen has the legal right to DEMAND that another person shows his/her birth certificate. I’m older than President Obama, and I have a copy of my birth certificate, but I’m sure that if I showed it to you, you still wouldn’t be satisfied because it doesn’t have all of the information that I have heard the birthers say that the president’s birth certificate should have.
Why are people so consumed with Hannity and the Fox Network. When someone has a different view or opinion it should be brought into the discussion. If your goal is to attempt to destroy the character of the person that asks the question then you should examine your motives and you should also examine the reason the question being asked isn’t being answered.
Please get your long form birth certificate and display it where all Americans can view it (online no good) before posting comments, since we need to know that you are a real American first. Thank you.
Continuing to ask for Obama’s birth certificate over and over after it has been shown is more than a “different view or opinion.” It is lunacy, and pursuing it undermines the credibility of everyone who engages in it, whether (s)he is a talk show host who has a lot of clout with a segment of Americans or a potential presidential candidate. There is a reason the frivolous lawsuits by goofballs like Orly Taitz keep getting thrown out of courts. The subtext of the whole matter is the implication that the president is not “one of us,” and what comes through is xenophobia, not to mention racism. It doesn’t make it any better when a non-white does it, because it just means that person swallowed the nonsense and regurgitated it in an attempt to appeal to other nutcases.
Tell that to Palin.
Hmmmm. Last time I checked, the United States Constitution did not require talk show hosts to be natural-born citizens.
No. The point is to demonstrate to Mr. Hannity – and many others- that “long form birth certificates” are rarely released by the state any more. That can only be the hospital certificate, which frequently contained such medically privileged and socially sensitive data as (a) legitimacy; (b) presence of VD in either parent; (c)number of prior live births, stillbirths, and miscarriages to that mother; (d) whether the baby’s eyes were treated with silver nitrate, mandatory for all in some times and places, but in others only where the mother was at least suspected of having gonorrhea. By now, I daresay the results of HIV tests could be present, too. In all events, most present jurisdictions will no longer release this under circumstances where they would not be required to release a medical record. I had one, which since crumbled; a certificate of live birth is all the State of Illinois will now give me, and those who keep yapping about wanting to see President Obama’s should be required to try to get their own, in hopes they learn to quit talking quatsch- a vain hope, I imagine.

1. Hannity shouldn’t have to show his birth certificate because…he’s a TV show host…not the president. There’s a fundamental difference there.
2. What big issue can we put behind us if Hannity shows his birth certificate? What difference would it make?
lets say sarcasm isnt your biggest suit
I’m beginning to be frightened:-)
lol…. how charade we are?
