There are few, if any, nations throughout history that have avoided war regardless their neutrality or desire to live in peace, and nearly every country on Earth, including the United States, has at some point suffered rebellion, revolution, or civil war. Of all the wars America has been involved in, the Civil War between northern states and the Confederacy was the deadliest because all the casualties were Americans, and besides the Republicans nearly causing a credit default in 2011, it stands out as America’s darkest hour. Despite the shame and devastation the war between the states wrought on this country, there are still Americans who would welcome a second chance to rip the country apart and if possible, destroy the unity it has taken over 140 years, two world wars, and major civil rights movements to achieve. Tragically, although there are disparate and extremist fringe groups desirous to see Americans at war with themselves, the primary instigator of conflict between Americans is the Republican Party that has spent the past three-and-a-half years inciting armed opposition to the legally elected government and especially the President of the United States.

The recent arrest of four U.S. soldiers In Georgia that prosecutors claim were plotting to overthrow the government is troubling and a pattern that portends  perilous times for Americans. The soldiers, members of a militia group, Forever Enduring Always Ready (F.E.A.R.), were stockpiling assault weapons and bomb components, and plotting to assassinate President Obama. The group also plotted to bomb a Washington State dam and poison the state’s apple crop, but the prosecutor said ultimately their goal was to assassinate the President and overthrow the government. The group was dead serious in carrying out their plans because they allegedly purchased $87,000 worth of “guns and bomb-making materials” for the plot.

The arrests were especially troubling because according to a report published last week, the U.S. Army is battling soldiers within its ranks who enlist in the Army and Marine Corps “to acquire the skills to overthrow what they are calling the ZOG” (Zionist Occupation Government). Their goal is “get in, get trained, and get out to brace for the coming race war” and it is not the first time the talk of a coming race war is being reported. It has been over forty years since the Civil Rights movement won a semblance of equality for minorities, and most Americans appeared to overcome their racist tendencies, but Republicans have been inciting hatred toward African Americans since President Obama was elected. Yesterday, Republicans nominated one of the main agitators as their standard bearer going into the November general election, and Willard Romney will spend the next two months doing everything he can to incite white Americans against African Americans.

During the 2008 presidential campaign, conservatives warned that if the country elected the first African American President, he would immediately give reparations to “his people” for what they called “imagined sleights of slavery.” The theme reared its ugly head again during the Republican primaries with Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich openly claiming President Obama was taking money from white people to give to African Americans. Romney made the same claim the day he addressed the NAACP, when later in the evening he bragged to a conservative audience that he told the NAACP that “if they want more stuff from government go vote for the other guy-more free stuff.” Willard repeated himself again over the weekend while defending the fallacious “Welfare to Work” campaign ad that accused the President of handing out welfare checks to “shore up his base” in a direct reference to African Americans he implied wanted free money.

The incident in Georgia was the third time the media has reported threats of revolution, civil war, and rebellion to overthrow the federal government. Just over a week ago it was reported that Virginia Republicans called for armed revolution if President Obama is reelected, and last week a Republican Texas judge warned that an Obama reelection could lead to “civil war” when “he’s going to try to hand over the sovereignty of the United States to the U.N.,” and that he was ready to take up arms. In fact, Tom Head said Lubbock’s law enforcement needed extra tax dollars in order to be prepared for a full-scale uprising, which he said could be a byproduct of Obama’s reelection.

Now, are white Americans willing to start a revolution or civil war because President Obama provided 30-million new customers for the private health insurance industry, or because he signed banking reform to protect consumers from another financial meltdown that nearly destroyed the world’s economy, or because taxes and spending are at their lowest rates in 60 years, or because there has been 26 straight months of new jobs created? No, it is because Republicans have spent the President’s entire term portraying him as un-American, alien, a Marxist, and a Socialist whose goal is transforming America into a European-style country, and Willard Romney has taken up the mantle as the great white hope to save America. In fact, in Romney’s cult there is a prophesy that says when there is a Constitutional crisis leaving the “god-given” document “hanging by a thread,” a Mormon savior on a great white horse will rescue America and transform the country into a Mormon theocracy governed by the Mormon Church.

Whether Willard thinks he is the Mormon that saves America from a constitutional crisis or not, he is doing everything in his power to create an environment of enmity between African Americans and “real Americans” (read white). However, Romney is not alone and there has been a steady drumbeat to stir up resentment against African Americans that Republicans claim are taking money from white people that is better spent on tax cuts for the wealthiest one-percent of income earners and their corporations. There is no other explanation for the dog-whistle racism Romney is engaged in, and after more than six months of a KKK-inspired campaign slogan  of “keeping America American” with persistent assertions that President Obama needs to “learn to be an American,” there is little question why angry white racists are preparing for the “coming race war” and revolution to “take back America” from the African American President whose policies are “foreign to America.”

What is most frightening is that Americans have only learned about three calls for revolution, civil (race) war, and overthrow of the government, because hate groups and militias are on the rise and will only get worse when President Obama wins reelection. One just needs to visit any gun club, shooting range, or gun show to witness displays and exhibits warning of the coming race war and revolution. In California, there are paramilitary groups practicing assaults on government buildings, and within 8 miles of this author’s home there is an Aryan group with rocket launchers, 2 Howitzers, 50-caliber machine guns, full-body armor, hand grenades, assault weapons and enough ammunition to mount a “full-scale assault on government forces” when “the race war begins.” There is only one constant in all these disaffected groups and it is opposition to an African American man “illegally sitting in a place he doesn’t belong” and they are all hardline, conservative-Christian Republicans who want nothing more than a violent overthrow of the government.

America is fracturing apart and when these heavily-armed groups begin shooting it is all down to Republicans inciting opposition to President Obama and violence against the government. Michele Bachmann called for Minnesota residents to be “armed and dangerous” to fight against federal laws, and failed senate candidate Sharon Angle invoked 2^nd Amendment remedies against the United States Congress because they passed laws conservatives were unhappy with. This is one time when Republicans cannot dare say it is happening on both sides of the political spectrum because only Republicans are using divisive language and inciting hatred for an entire race, and they just nominated the racist who, by admission, is ratcheting up racist rhetoric to garner support from white voters.

It is tragic that a country that has always been at its best when the nation was united is being prodded into a “coming race war” so a white Mormon can occupy the White House, and the only thing Willard Romney is missing is a great white horse because his racist rhetoric is having the effect of creating a constitutional crisis when American slays American in the Republican-caused “coming race war.” At this juncture, it is time to state categorically that after over three years, there is no longer any doubt that Republicans are tearing the country apart and inciting Americans toward a civil war, and yesterday they nominated the man leading the charge.
