Fake Rich Guy Donald Trump Embraces Socialism and Supports Taxing the Wealthy
After previously claiming that raising taxes on the rich would destroy America, Donald Trump went on Fox News today and supported increasing taxes on the wealthy.
Here is the video via Media Matters:
After telling Fox News viewers that since the election is over the real unemployment numbers can come out now, Trump was asked about the fiscal cliff and said, “You cannot afford not to make a deal. Too many repercussions, too many, I mean it’s just uncertainty. You have to have certainty. Otherwise, you’re not going to have a successful business. We have so little certainty in this country. They really have to hammer out a deal. If they do, it’s gotta be a good deal. Otherwise, we are going over the cliff.”
Later, Trump agreed with Bill Kristol’s support for raising taxes on raising taxes on the rich, “Well, I think look. If they can come out with a fantastic deal for the country, and that means cutting like you’ve never seen before. Bring our deficit down to a really manageable number or ever, I am okay with that. I’m okay with whatever they do as long as they get this country going again.”
This is the same man who told Fox News last April that Obama was, “Taking away a lot of incentives from a lot of people that produce a lot of taxes. Trump also claimed that raising taxes on the wealthy would drive drive wealth out of the country, “It creates the wrong image. You really have to keep the taxes down.”
Trump also wrote in his book Time To Get Tough that raising taxes would destroy the American work ethic,
“No doubt you work hard for your money–I know I do–and you should be permitted to keep more of it. Anything less creates a disincentive for a strong national work ethic. President Ronald Reagan saw it the same way: “The more government takes in taxes, the less incentive people have to work.” As with most things, President Reagan had it right, But Reagan was merely echoing the economic thoughts of President John F. Kennedy, who had already said, in 1962, “The paradoxical truth is that the tax rates are too high today and tax revenues are too low and the soundest way to raise revenues in the long run is to cut rates now.”
Reagan and Kennedy’s views prove that smart tax policy shouldn’t be a partisan issue. It should be common sense. If you tax something you get less of it. It’s as simple as that. The more you tax work, the less people are willing to work. The more you tax investments, the fewer investments you’ll get. This isn’t rocket science.
Donald Trump is now embracing the very thing that he once said would send the wrong image, and before that wrote would destroy the work ethic of our country. America’s fake TV billionaire has now embraced what the right likes to refer to as “socialism.” (It is not really socialism, but according to Fox News, anything President Obama does is socialist.)
Trump has gone from show me your transcripts to I can support the illegitimate Kenyan president’s plan to tax the rich.

Now that is a true republican, a really strong message, or perhaps the next day having a ‘different’ strong message!

sometimes I have a problem separating Donald Trump from Mittens Romney. You have to wonder if the real Donald Trump was in a closet for the last year or so. We have to face the fact that he is a consummate idiot no matter what he says

I keep reading comments over and over naming Democrats as big spenders and taxers.
Individual Income–top incomes pay most but how much of income is key.
2009 Individual Income Taxes
top10%=paid 18% Tax Rate–got 43% total individual income AGI.
top 25%=paid14.68% Tax Rate–got 65.8% total individual income
top 50%=paid12.5% Tax Rate–got 86.5% of total individual income.
70,000,000 workers got 13.5%–paid 1.85%
A 35% Effective Tax on top 10% will balance our budget in 2013 fiscal year
Spenders—-Reagan increased spending by 80% and Bush II by 90%
Debt–+189% under Reagan and 112% (doubled) under Bush II
Jobs–Carter + Clinton got 222,000 per month
Reagan + Two Bushes got 99,000 but added 9000B to a 1000B Debt.
Obama is projected to increase spending by 2-8%. Lowest since Great Depression
Bush left with 3520 Billion spent in 2009
Obama 2013 budget calls for 3800 but may be lower.

I point folks to this article. The numbers can be gotten in various places but this investment magazine lays out Obama spending for even the most ardent haters of spending and fantasy.
When the vast majority of our press fails to tell the truth we all live in a bubble.

I think Income tax rates were higher under JFK which he reduced. The problem is that people like The Hair, regurgitates what they hear because they are too lazy to research the facts prior to opening their maws. They end up looking like the fools they are.
The eegits on Fcuk News as well as MSM are no better. What’s wrong with using your staff to check the historical facts and using said facts to educate your viewers so they will be better informed.

The phrase ‘tax and spend liberals’ came from Ronald Reagan as well as ‘knee jerk liberals. Unfortunately, he tried to make the word liberal a dirty word as so many retros yelled ‘liberal, liberal’ when they would disagree with and honest democrat. I hope we are getting past that.

Who cares what this egotistical jerk has to say about anything. I’d rather listen to a quartet of farting seniors.

it’s not socialism, but a social contract with America and the wealthy. just like post 1929 crash- there must safeguards in place to protect people from the corrupt greedy capitalists that are sure to enter the American scene form time to time as evidenced today and now. BEWARE- of any cuts to our social programs that they not become permanent as surely as a tax raise will not be. we cannot bargain away the future of our safety nets for a temporary fix in economics

Trumps’s holdings are in real estate, like apartment buildings, resorts that sell second homes to the wealthiest among us,golf courses, etc. Removing the tax loopholes from that sector. as has been considered, would cost him many more dollars than a simple 4 points of tax increase.
His accountants will surely be able to find a way to negate that hit to his income, they’d have a harder time shielding his income if loopholes are removed.

You know, whenever I see his name in a headline, I read it as, “Donald Turnip”. Have we got a cartoon character in the making?…

Looky -Looky “The Donald” now just lurves our POTUS (Pres. of the U.S.) aka Mr. Obama.
I guess Mr. Trump is taking seriously the petitions to remove his Macy’s endorsements and cancel his hit TV show “The Apprentice”. Further exposing that greed will always outweight VERACITY! RWNJ!
