Female Romney Adviser Calls Equal Pay a Left Wing Agenda
Thursday on Andrea Mitchell Reports, Romney senior adviser Delegate Barbara Comstock (and transvaginal ultrasound supporter) called equal pay a “left wing agenda”, dissed Lilly Ledbetter as being “partisan” and claimed that “real women… Appreciate male and female bosses who accommodate their schedules and time.”
All you not real women, holla.
Watch here:
TRANSCRIPT:
MITCHELL: I’m just saying that’s not what he said that night.
COMSTOCK: Yeah, but I can tell you, having watched — when you watch how women reacted to that in real time, which Lilly Ledbetter and these other women, who are trying – I mean, they have a left wing agenda that they’re trying to make an issue of a statement that women didn’t respond that way, and that I understand there may be partisans who respond that way but real women out there in the working world appreciate male and female bosses who accommodate their schedules and time.
END TRANSCRIPT
So, all women who want equal pay are part of a left wing agenda perpetrated by partisans like Lilly Ledbetter. Real women are appreciative of being let off early so they can cook dinner. This is the Republicans great offering to replace equal pay. Freedom, ladies.
Let’s review. Comstock, who voted for mandated transvaginal ultrasounds for women seeking an abortion in Virginia is calling other women who want equal pay partisans furthering a left-wing agenda. She, however, is not furthering a crazy right wing agenda, using the “small” government to force an unnecessary and costly medical procedure upon women. Oh, no. It’s those radical lefties like Lilly Ledbetter and you other women who want equal pay.
I’m losing faith in the Republicans’ ability to do simple math. Equal pay for women = more money for middle class families and the poor with which to pay for things like mortgages and food. How is this a partisan agenda? Is shelter now a partisan agenda? Is work itself now partisan, left wing agenda?
Lilly Ledbetter issued the following statement after the second presidential debate, “If Romney was truly concerned about women in this economy, he’d take a stand against paycheck discrimination. Instead, he has remained silent and refused to speak out for equal pay for women and their families. Simply put, Romney doesn’t get it.”
Romney has been all over the map on the Lilly Ledbetter Act; for it, against it, won’t say. The usual clown show. The fact that he wouldn’t answer the question should tell you all you need to know. When Mitt Romney launches into personal anecdotes about giving women time off to make dinner for their families, be afraid. Be very afraid. The personal anecdotes always come when Romney does not want to tell you his policies.
And of course, his running mate voted against the Lilly Ledbetter Act. That wasn’t a partisan act on his behalf at all; he just doesn’t believe that women should be able to fight back if they are not being paid the same as a man for the same job.

How does any woman in her right mind think that equal pay for equal work is a “left wing” issue? Since this fool supports transvaginal ultrasounds, it says a lot about her mindset. As for flexibility, there’s nothing wrong with it for mothers AND fathers who have young families. But being paid equally with men means that a woman’s work is equally valued. There’s no getting around that.

The only coherent explanation for such blatant idiocy is that she must be a heavily religious person. Some people with strong religious affiliation display bizarre behavior in other more obvious areas.

Fairness is a left wing agenda? Fair enough, I fully support fairness.
Here’s a scientific study (less than 2 minutes of your time): “Capuchin monkeys reject unequal pay”

With Republicans, we the 99%, get cucumber.
Note to Republicans: If you think humans cannot see what monkeys can; you’re dead wrong.

I’ll bet it’s not as much as a male Romney adviser . . .

Speaking of RWNJ’s, and their women, there is this:

Yes, it appears that, according to her FB page, D’Snooza’s mistress hasn’t been married long. I’ll give her credit though. Her marriage last longer than Connie & Carlo’s.

Yes, and fcuking ugly to boot and I’m no beauty myself but that was the first thought that came to mind when I saw her picture. Hope she doesn’t have any daughters for they will surely need help.
All illinformed, unintelligent R’thuglican women need to wake up. Research women’s struggles through the decades for their sisters who would come after them. These brave, awesome women fought long and hard, went to jail, got assaulted and raped for women’s rights to have control of our lives and body and to choose, to work outside the home, for respect and equality. These stupid cows now think they are where they are today because they did it themselves and/or because men decided to give us a break and include us into the world as persons. Now they think it’s ok for us to give up all those rights and defer and be subservient to men.
WAKE UP, YOU DIDN’T BUILD IT!!

These remarks portend danger for women. She didn’t say anything Willard didn’t approve. Any woman voting for Romney is either a foolish masochist stuck in bible hell. Unbelievably, they’ll take every woman to that hell with them.

This is a ludicrous statement, especially from a woman about women.
The Paycheck Equality legislation was voted down on a procedural vote in July along strictly party lines.
And the right wonders how we could possibly think there was a war on women being waged by them?
BOTH men and women who have families require flexibility from employers who are genuinely pro-family and supportive of their employees.
Being a parent is not only the job of women anymore.
Bible hell – I like that Sarah! Well written!
The only thing that results from republican policies is that where there are no unions, pay is lower. Where Republicans get rid of or fail to raise the minimum wage to keep pace with cost of living, people are simply poorer overall, and the gap between rich and everyone else widens.
The pretext that is more ‘job creation/business friendly’ is nonsense; in point of fact many of those states have even WORSE unemployment with those policies AND more poorly paid workers — and of course, more tragically deficient infrastructure.

This person – Barbara Comstock – is the perfect example of wats WRONG with members of the Republican Party. I mean, how can anyone state that a person should not be paid the same as someone else doing the same job?!?! Obviously republicans can’t!
As SLJ said, “Wake the fuck up!”

This just goes along with the rightwingnutjobs hatred of trial lawyers. According to them, trial lawyers are the cause for all the ills in the business world. Many republicans lost big profits when cigarette companies were forced to defend themselves against cancer claims.

Comstock blocked me from her “official” Facebook page because I would question her on her policies and views. She only allows cheerleaders. During her first term she was such a cheerleader for our governor, I truly thought they must be having an affair. She is extremely partisan, which is odd because our district is almost 50/50 split. But she chooses to only represent the conservative half and now she is slightly gerrymandered in. She also recently stated that $250K annually is barely enough to get by in our district, which is a huge lie, but that’s the bubble she lives in.

I gave up trying to figure out why women any woman would vote republican. I gave up trying to figure out why RW women demean liberal women when we’ve never tried to take anything of theirs. I gave up trying to figure out why RW women are so hateful, bigoted, very uninformed, minipuated easily by men, led my men easily. I gave up trying to figure out why they don’t mind if one of their own/our own gets raped and is forced to have the rapists baby! And see nothing wrong with it. I gave up trying to figure out why RW women think they don’t need birth control or fair pay. I gave up trying to figure out why RW women are so callous and cold blooded that they would deny their own daughters the right of choice as if they don’t deserve it. As if they don’t deserve respect from ANY man– even your party leaders!!!! Including ROMNEY who let Rush Limbaugh call an innocent young lady/student a slut! AND DID NOT DEFEND HER! I gave up on RW women they defend men like this. Because they do not care about their mothers, daughters, granddaughters, nieces, girlfriends, friends or sisters in CHRIST!!! These RW women have sold their souls to the RW devil and they lie right along with their party leaders to all their women. IT JUST DOESN’T GET ANY WORSE THAN THAT!

From time to time I see what the animals over in the Yahoo News comments section have to say. Usually it’s just for laughs but after Lilly Ledbetter I got into a tiff with a woman who proclaimed it’s not up to government to police employers wage disparities between men and women. This was so shocking coming from a woman that I of course had to speak up. After some back and forth, she chided my viewpoints and called me un-American. Needless to say, the conversation ended there. Some people are just inconsolable. I am still in shock.
I cannot think of a single job that an equally trained woman could not do just as well as an equally trained man. Probably because such a job does not exist. This legislation blows my mind.

The baggers have also taken over the comments on HP. HP must simply be interested in the number of comments posted. Their comments never involve policy but are attacks on President Obama and “libs” as they call them.

You’re too kind. I can think of more appropriate descriptions and what I would like to do to her physically but would be banned from the site. Suffice to say, these so called women have a real identity crisis. I think they would have preferred being born male as it’s obvious they hate themselves as humans with female plumbing.

This woman is a disgrace to women everywhere. She is a fool with little or no self respect. I have a feeling she just spins the Republican line. She would never have a vaginal ultra sound or work for less than a man. Phony bitch.

I am absolutely stunned by this woman’s inability to understand her place in the workforce! What fairy tale was she told? I am 57 years old and came of age when women were recognized as equal partners in the workforce. How come her mother, who must be my age, did not let her daughter know she is a valuable person in all facets of her life? This person is a throwback to a time that denied women’s contributions except as stay-at -home moms.
Once a Mormon friend explained to me in 1998 that when women entered the workforce in the 1970s men’s wages were depressed as a consequence. I believe this is a Mormon talking point. They truly believe women are taking away jobs men traditionally held and are holding back women’s true roles as mothers.
Give me a breaK My daughters are not, and I repeat “NOT” on this earth to be baby machines!
