So are you saying that whatever is bought on Sunday couldn’t be bought on any of the other 6 days of the week ? Here in GA, you can’t alcohol on Sundays. Hasn’t hurt their profits any.

Talk about a contraction in the economy… how many businesses would go under without their Sunday traffic?

Economics is a fine balance. Right now, it’s overbalanced in the direction of the corporations… we need more workers on our end of the teeter-totter or the economic machine won’t run.

You might be surprised to read that I agree with you 100%; the owner of Chick-Fil-A has freedom of speech, as all Americans do (as all human beings should), especially when I tell you I’m an LGBT individual. It might NOT surprise you to learn, then, that I support a boycott of his products… just as I might have declined to ride the bus in Selma, Alabama during that boycott.

I won’t support this company because a) the hormone-forced growth of chickens so they get plumper, faster, is unhealthy for human beings, and I believe responsible business owners have an obligation to public health, especially when feasting on public dollars; and b) the profits the owner makes – which are considerable, and even higher since yesterday’s marketing feat – go directly to organizations which try to ensure that some Americans are denied their civil rights.

The whole thing has been blown up into some giant hate-fest, on both sides, with one side hatin’ the gays, and the other hatin’ the anti-gays. I don’t hate you. I don’t even KNOW you. How can I hate you? But the way the media is playing this… those are our assigned roles. And for them, the show must go on; ratings depend on it.

I wish every conservative that thinks Chick-Fil-A is so wonderful for being closed on Sundays would refuse to shop at any store on Sunday. Then maybe I could get every Sunday off too.
