A Desperately Delusional Fox News Claims Occupy Wall Street Is Not Growing
On Fox News tonight, the desperation of the one percent reached a new high as Bill O’Reilly claimed that Occupy Wall Street is not growing.
Here is the video from Media Matters:
When Fox News needs a dose of reality denial, they call on Bill O’Reilly. Tonight while talking about Occupy Wall Street, Bill-O said, “The numbers are small, and you would think that they would grow if this was something that was serious. O’Reilly then claimed that union workers aren’t there, “It’s not the union workers who are there. It’s the leadership and their paid minions. It’s not the guys on the job out there.”
According to a CBS News report yesterday, “Thousands of protesters packed Foley Square, standing behind police barricades in front of the courthouse buildings. Some wore union T-shirts, others were in business attire, and many left work early to be there.”
From WLNS in Michigan, “”Occupy Wall Street” began as a small, grass-roots effort several weeks ago mostly with young people. It’s now grown to include organized labor and people of all ages.”
CNN reported yesterday that, “Wall Street protests swelled Wednesday to their largest numbers yet, after local unions pledged support to a third week of demonstrations against income inequality, corporate greed, corruption and a list of other social ills. Thousands meandered from lower Manhattan’s Zuccotti Park — considered a rallying point for the largely leaderless group — to Foley Square near City Hall. The crowd then looped back to the park, punctuating a 19-day protest that promotes a wide, if not ambiguous, range of messages.”
Everyone with a set of eyes can see that Occupy Wall Street is growing. Only those who are completely delusional and in denial a.k.a. Fox News would even dare to claim that this movement is growing. In fact, Occupy Wall Street is growing into something serious. The protests are spreading around the country, now they are being reported on by the mainstream media. They have gone from a small unorganized movement to a protest of thousands in a few weeks.
Bill O’Reilly’s spin tonight was pure delusion and denial. Fox News is afraid of Occupy Wall Street. They are terrified of the message, are horrified that the movement will spread. Fox News can keep pretending that the protests aren’t growing, but they can’t deny the reality that these protests have the power to change the political landscape. Occupy Wall Street isn’t a protest by union leaders. It is an action from the people.
When Fox News can’t handle reality, they desperately flee the facts for a world of their own delusions. Fox News is desperate. The one percent are scared, and Occupy Wall Street is on the rise.

Well, they can’t hear, can’t quantify, can’t count, can’t analyze, the truth escapes them, and now they can’t see!
They are drowning in their own flotsam!

Good. Nobody deserves to squirm more than those aye-wholes.

Apparently, Fox News has the Tea Party not growing confused with what is actually happening with Occupy Wall Street. If we can just keep the Paulians from infiltrating and diluting the message, it will keep growing.

I have a feeling that Roger Ailes sees the handwriting on the wall for Fox news. He has come out with all those weird statements lately and is not even quite sure if he will continue once his contract is up.
I suppose they had a good run (to the detrement of the country) but things are changing and the talking heds are getting scared.

You can see Bill O’Reilly’s concern in his body language. Besides lying that Occupy Wall Street is not growing, he then tries to proclaim that the 10,000+ people in Foley Square were the union leadership and their paid minions. Seriously, Bill, 10,000+ union leaders and their paid minions? I thought you were saying just last month that the union movement was on the decline? Anyway, the fact that he is talking about it is proof that he is lying. Also, the words “Occupy Wall Street” were spoken by the president today. What is that? Fading into obscurity? LOL

Is it news that what FOX says is the absolute opposite of what is true? I guess I am just jaded. BTW, #Occupy is “not” growing down here in Austin, too. ;)

Remember the Seinfeld episode where George did the opposite of his instincts…..?
You hit the nail on the head. Whatever Fox says, assume the opposite is true.

Fox and their minions are not being delusional nor are they in denial.
They’re just lying again.

IIt it that”Tiger By the Tail”business, that I said the other day, that my VERY smart Mother, used to always say! She was so wise, had me so late in life, and lived so long,(not long enough for my liking,of course)that I got to learn from a much earlier era than most children ever get to do.Then, there was my wonderful Father, who was many years older than Mother-nearly 60,when I was born-yet BOTH of them were COLLEGE EDUCATED;something almost unheard of,for women of little means,in those days.I remember when she used to say”unlike the children today,I had 2 nice skirts,3 blouses,2 Sweaters, and a few pr of nylon stockings, and a coat-my entire wardrobe during college!”-And worked part time, while getting my education.”My Fathers family was of more means, but wtill, when he was a very young man,he had a Horse&Buggy,to get him around!(Both my parents were only married once-to each other, and my Father was Past 40 When they married! Wise, wonderful people-who predicted the state of affairs that this country finds itself in today! I was raised Republican, but neither of my parents would tolerate what the GOP has become these days-not in a million years! SO-the”Tiger By the Tail”,is where where many of the Fox”news” people, and other far”right-wingers”,find themselves today-and it frightens them, because THEY thought there were NOT any other”worthwhile”people in this country, besides Them and Their”buddies.”Why do you think even good ole Rush L. is sounding confused&befuddled these days?-Because their kind” assumed”there was just No One of”Importance”in this world, besides THEM! And,it scares them to think just maybe”the Jig is UP!,and that those” unimportant”99% are just NOT going to take everything THEY hand out anymore! I pray The OWS grows and grows every week, and that the ones of us who may not be able to physically be there with them, can&will support them in every other way possible;and, unlike the Teapubs nonsense, that OWS can stand for the Right Things, and take OUR country back Now-to equality and fairness for all of us,who have worked so hard for” The American Dream”,for so many years, will once again have a LOUD voice in this country! And,the President said it best, not just for Blacks, but for ALL middle class and poor, when he said”take off your slippers and put on your Marching Boots, and get going!”And,we Must do it and HELP these folks who are now going out on the”front lines.”to give a voice to ALL OF THE 99%!

There should be some OWS people down protesting FOX and their lies in the front of their building. When you look at the bigger picture it was Fox and their media who convinced people to think and vote against their best interests. We are in this mess because of FOX and have a truly dysfunctional government now because of the corporate lackeys in congress and the senate. The state of political discourse and bipartisanship was poisoned by Fox and the right wing media. I never thought the word compromise would be a dirty word as it is in the Fox right wing world. And don’t forget fat old rump with his poison like words.

I love the fact that while Occupy Wall Street is growing, the Tea Party is steadily losing favor–especially among Americans who have been subjected to governing under Tea Party politicians, mainly governors. FOX Noise has a vested interest in denying and discounting the importance of this movement, because its purpose is antithetical to everything FOX Noise stands for. FOX is especially guilty of the very thing that this movement is in opposition to, so FOX’s efforts to deny and denounce have become more and more frenzied, in direct proportion to the growth and expansion of this movement.
