Fox News Militarizes The War on Christmas by Mixing Santa and Guns
What happens when you mix Santa, guns, and Fox News’ Gretchen Carlson? You get an armed Santa defending Christmas while Fox News redefines the Second Amendment as you can do anything that you want.
Here is the video from Media Matters:
The General Manager of the Scottsdale Gun Club, Ron Kennedy said, “What we are trying to do is add a little holiday spirit to people’s Second Amendment rights to be able to carry and purchase firearms.” Gretchen Carlson replied, I mean. It’s anybody’s right to do whatever they want especially when it comes to the Second Amendment.”
Despite what Fox News may believe, and tell its viewers, the Second Amendment does not give people the right to do whatever they want. There is no whatever they want provision in the amendment. The Second Amendment states that, “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” In the broadest of interpretations, this language can be taken to mean that people have a right to own a weapon. Nowhere in the text of the amendment does it say that anyone has a right to do whatever they please with their weapon.
You do not have a right to shoot at your neighbor’s house. You do not have a right to gun down an African American teenager who went to the store to buy some Skittles. There is no right to do whatever you want. In the real world application of the Second Amendment, every American does not have the right to own a weapon. The government has the ability to set the conditions of purchase and ownership. This is why children, convicted criminals, and some mentally ill individuals are not allowed to own weapons. Contrary to Gretchen Carlson’s NRA spin, the Second Amendment like every other right is not limitless.
The story that Fox and Friends was “reporting” on today is actually three years old, but since viewers must be made to feel like their rights are under assault at all times, Fox News played this one for all the threatening drama that they could gin up.
Look out liberals!!! Fox News isn’t going to listen to anymore to talk about what the constitution actually says. Santa will defend his holiday with a dose of warm lead for anybody who tries to take the gun out of Christmas.

What do you expect?
This is Arizona, Home of John McCain, and
Governor Jan Brewer.
Home to the DA Tom Horne who is under investigation by the FBI, who also happens to be investigating Sherif Joe Arpaio.
It is just above Mississippi in the education level, and we are fighting to get to the bottom of the list.
The Fox people and the rest of tea partieres love drama.

I suppose the NRA has ginned up another ‘Obama’s gonna take yer guns, and thus time we rille mean it’ controversy. Gun makers must be thrilled, as regs are more lax and people are even dumber than 4 years ago. yahoo. OK Corral at high noon. Why don’t they just shoot each other and be done with it.

Then stricter laws are passed and the next thing you know, people like my wife and I (and some of our friends) are left defenseless against the dominionists and the Klan, who are threatening violence more and more often. (So far, thank God, I was wrong about a rebellion because President Obama won the election! It could still happen, though!)
They nearly succeeded a couple of decades ago with an anti-terrorism law that targeted a lot of minority groups. The bigots weren’t too happy that it got defeated, although it would have also put an onus on the racist groups.
There are limits to every freedom, but beware increasing those limits. You may find unintended consequences to the effort. Most of the anti-gun language is as emotionally driven as the stupidity we see from Faux news. That’s painfully obvious to me.
Rather than more and more legal restrictions, may I propose an educational movement that teaches responsibility for one’s actions and even more so, responsibility for the harm one does to others? Let’s work on changing society so that the violence level and very real danger DECREASES. More gun laws IMO is just putting a bandaid on an infected and suppurating wound (the flaws with American culture).
Here’s another idea. Every time there is another call for gun control, it just confirms the fears of the right. I think the fact that it was made it clear that President Obama wasn’t about confiscation of firearms helped a lot in the election. Let’s talk more about the causes of violence – discrimination, lack of opportunity, and yes, some people are heartless monsters – and how to reduce the danger. That would get a lot of people on board that right now are terrified of liberals (because they face the real world even as we -my wife and I – do).

i wouldn’t worry about these posers. the guns are just hollywood props to these clowns, nothing more. yes, it’s silly, just as the concept of a virgin birth or santa claus is, but we still tolerate those. so we tolerate the gun nuts and their cowardly posing and misinterpretations of the 2nd amendment. i just find it funny the same gun nuts who claim they love Reagan, forget he endorsed the assault weapon ban.

What imaginary Fox Christmas war would be complete without real-life machine-gun toting Santa? “Ho! Ho! Ho! Say Merry Christmas or I’ll pop a cap in your a$$!” Fox’s biblical rendition of Jesus’ birth – “
SilentSilencer Night”Please proceed, Murdoch-Prince Alaweed-Fox. The disgraceful Republican Party shrinketh; thanks for doing your part. Oh, and happy holidays.

The whole reason Kid Rock was Mitt Romney’s #1 stage entertainer this year is because Kid represents the new, Uber-Libertarian attitude of: “”I am the totally independent Kingdom of Me”". I have the right to do whatever I want, whenever I want to do it because I am Me. The Second Ammendment gun fans absolutely LOVE this and you see that attitude getting more popular all the time.
