GA Republican State Senator Claims Frying Pans Kill More People than Guns
Watch out for those frying pans, people.
A Republican State Senator from Georgia, Bill Jackson (R-Augusta), took to the Senate floor on Monday to inform his colleagues, “They’re killin’ people with frying pans. They’re killin’ people with hammers! There’s more murders with hammers last year than there was shotguns, pistols and AK-47s.”
Jackson is very concerned about blunt objects. He lumps them all together, insinuating that blunt objects like frying pans are killing more people than guns. He’s ceratin that blunt objects kill more people than guns.
Watch here, courtesy of Better Georgia. No, really. You have to because there are not words:
YouTube version of the video:
Jackson continued, “Let’s help the people that need the help.” I totally agree, but I don’t think we’re talking about the same people. “That’s the end of this story. Thank you very much.”
Yes, that’s the end of this story! A little misinformation and a scary frying pan theory and Republicans are done discussing gun safety legislation.
Republicans should propose arming the military with frying pans. Think of the money we could save – fry an egg and kill an enemy. Win, win. Fiscal responsibility! Concealed frying permits would be all the rage.
Bryan Long of Better Georgia explained:
According to the FBI, in 2011, firearms accounted for 67.7 percent of all murders and blunt objects (including frying pans and hammers) accounted for 3.9 percent.
We could find no record of a mass murders with frying pans or hammers.
Only 3.9 percent of murders are due to blunt objects. In 2011, blunt objects (clubs, hammers, frying pans, etc.) killed 496 to 8,583 murdered by guns.
This is the level of debate in Republican circles. Frying pans don’t kill people, people do… or something. The second amendment says you can take my fryin’ pan out of my cold dead hands. I came uncooked this time. Them fryin’ pans is a-killin’ people. Fryin’ pans are the real problem.
President Obama is heading to Georgia tomorrow to discuss gun safety legislation. This is what he’s up against. Anti-intellectualism has jumped the shark. Watch out for blunt objects. They’re everywhere.

The sad thing is that this man believes what he just said and so do many others in this country.

Yes! There are conservative people, mostly men, who are pushing the idea that there are more men raped in this country than women.
It’s all about the prison rapes, don’tcha know!!!
Sad commentary all around.

Well, frying pans look like killing him and many another good old boy, but it takes about thirty years of overuse and abuse to do it. You can’t stage an instant massacre with cheese grits or cream gravy.

News flash, another Republican is full of shit.
These c*ck smokers are really scraping the bottom of the barrel in their quest to deny reality and destroy all that is good in the world.

And God knows how many rounds of .50 caliber Velveeta.
But they’re not truly effective unless handled by a chef who’s expert marksman qualified . . .

What I heard is that more deaths are caused by “street hoodlums” who knock their victim down and beat them to death with a shoe! Nikes are their choice of weapon; 2 blows from a Nike and, well, you’re a goner! Makes the frying pan obsolete…

I didn’t realize many elected GOP members had such comedic talents. They seem to have an innate ability to bring hilarity to almost any subject. Our last election cycle brought several comedians expanding on farce of rape. If the rape was legitimate, did the body use its natural defenses to quash a potential pregnancy?
This year, the GOP side-show premiered with the Honorable Georgia Senator. Unfortunately, he failed to amuse “we the people” with his proclamation that frying pans are just as, if not more, deadly than guns. The people are moderately aware that using 3-4# pressure on a trigger operating an automatic weapon with 30 round-clips is much more deadly than chasing after someone with a 3-4# cast iron frying pan and whacking them.
A frying pan has a purpose, same with a baseball bat, hammer or vehicle. All can be used as a deadly weapon.
On the other hand, an automatic weapon with high capacity clips has only one purpose – to shoot with intent to eliminate. Kill an enemy, destroy a target, slaughter a classroom of children, or eradicate a theater filled with families.
To Mr. Georgia State Senator: Please quit your day job and work on your act, because “we the people” aren’t buying it.

They do — it’s just often unintentional . . .

It’s people like Senator Jackson that makes me wonder if mandatory education is enough in Georgia is enough. Maybe, mandatory brain implants would be more appropriate.
Shiva and Deborah, I don’t as a rule go to or post on conservative sites and I hate to sound like a conspiracy nut, but I have been having trouble posting or “liking” on some liberal sites lately. I have been wondering if there are people willing to pay others to post (troll) on sites, why wouldn’t they pay someone to create a virus on certain sites? Don’t want to give anyone ideas. Just thinking. What do you think

This site had a server error the other night. Not this websites fault, and iot would have effected other sites on the same server as well.
I certainly wouldnt put it past the GOP or the conservative wing nuts to try and program a virus of sorts. Websites like this are continually experiencing hacking efforts, but usually to take over the servers and spread spam
