I am not a Democrat by accident.

But even as an activist Democrat, I think there are some Republicans with some good ideas.

To me, the prime example is Mayor Mike Bloomberg of New York.

When Romney first announced his candidacy for POTUS back in 2007, I thought, ok, blue state GOP governor, passed health care reform, this guy could be interesting.

Romney immediately disappointed me by denouncing Romneycare and pandering to the GOP right.

Now in selecting Paul Ryan as his running mate, Romney really has me scratching my head.

Ryan has the least cross over appeal of any of the many bruited about for consideration as GOP Veep.

Why would Romney pick the one man mentioned as a veep candidate the Dems could pin with real power, and who is the most likely to turn off independents?

Clearly Romney believes the GOP conservatives, that is about 90% of the party, have not accepted him.

By nominating Ryan, Romney has run up a flare announcing he is still in trouble with his own party.

This is encouraging news for Dems, but as always the caveat is: do not become complacent.

The election is now clearly tilted in favor of the Democrats. But it is not yet won.

Treat everyone with respect, listen carefully to their views, explain

a0 the dangers of the Romney-Ryan ticket

and b the importance of Obama-Biden in continuing the needed measures to build our shared future.

Continue working for the election of Obama and other Dems, and don’t forget that even small donations help to spread the message.

Romney is in trouble, but it is not over until it is over.

And I thought my situation was bad; I filed for disability in 2003 and the Bush 43 administration ruled against me for nearly six years, committing all kinds of corruption and fraud along the way. I got a good lawyer and re-filed in 2007; by the time it got to my second administrative law hearing, President Obama was in office and, viola! I got the Liberal admin judge instead of the ultra-conservative one previously. Now, I’m on disability, after fighting the government for nearly 7 years, most of it under the Bush 43 administration. The stories of A Walkaway and I should be cautionary tales to those of you young and strong enough to work but may not be able to do so through no fault of your own sometime in the future. Republicans in charge means that they’ll find every excuse to deny you your rightful benefits; Democrats in charge, you’ve got a chance; you’ll still have to prove your case with the Democrats in charge, but at least they’ll have not made the decision before the hearings/appeals start.

Because that wouldn’t be nearly as much fun, and there wouldn’t be any campaign parties. Plus, honesty is not the GOP’s strong suit……
