Desperate for Ratings Glenn Beck Warns of Impending Food Riots
One day soon, those tears might be real
Glenn Beck took his dangerous clown show to the air again today to warn of impending food riots brought to his audience by ACORN like operatives who want to take over the world. Today’s con game went something like this: Egypt is like ACORN and the Muslims are coming and there isn’t enough food and stay out of debt and save your food if you want to save the Republic!
Oh, laugh at your own peril my friend. But Glenn has the evidence! Of course, like any good con, you can’t get all the info in one sitting. No, no. In order to find out how to save yourself and who these people are, you must tune in tonight when Glenn Beck gives you the secret code. In other words, as Beck’s ratings desperation escalates, so does his tin foil hattery. Only Beck can save you…buy Goldline…tune in tonight…Please, for the love of God, tune in tonight and save a clown.
From the February 1 edition of Premiere Radio Networks’ The Glenn Beck Program courtesy of Media Matters:
Buckle up, patriots. This is a bumpy ride. Here we go — I transcribe Beck so you don’t have to:
I’m gonna show you the connections tonight to many groups in America whose stated goal is to create a caliphate.
A caliphate is the spiritual head and temporal ruler of the Islamic state. Glenn Beck is quite the spiritual and temporal leader of the Tea Party Republicans, no? He has rallies that read more like tent revivals and he merges that with his lay politics (for sure) and imposes it upon secular leadership creating a theocracy.
If you remember at the beginning of the 20th century, at first in Germany, the national socialists and the communists were hand in hand, and Goebbels had to go out and say to them and say, this is why the Nazi flag is red. In Goebbels s own hand, there’s not much change. He and Hitler understood there’s not much change between the communists and the national socialists! The only difference was nationalism! The communists wanted one government for the entire world, Germans, the national socialists wanted Germany to be that center to take over the world.
Perhaps Glenn is really warning his audience about himself. Glenn Beck is a caliph of the Muslim Brotherhood masquerading as a Mormon. After all, only he has spiritual and temporal authority over his audience (OK, he shares his audience with Sarah Palin so maybe the AIP is connected to the Muslim brotherhood too….)
They couldn’t get enough communists to come in so they liquidated the communists. Now that’s the history. And I truly believe, you see the evidence, we have the evidence, of the uber left, the anarchists and communists and the socialists, the radicals, sowing the seeds and helping those in Egypt, all they want is more pressure on the United States – this isn’t about the people there, it’s about changing the globe. I really believe they think they will win in the end. Dangerous game you’re playing with billions of lives. A very dangerous game and you need to know the connections and you need to know. This isn’t about Barack Obama. This is so far beyond congress and the next election. This is about our survival.
My god, the evidence is there. Stock up on food, people. Glenn Beck is coming.
The storm I’ve talked about for so long is here.
This is proof, because only he saw the storm and now it’s here. He is the caliph he warns us of. Beck is the insurrection.
The insurrection is here.
Ah ha! See?
What we haven’t done is how this connects to the world. This is a play for the world, this isn’t United States.. I’ll show you the connections tonight so you can see them, so your friends can see them and I don’t care if they believe. You have to ask yourself, what do I do. If I may, if I may just make a suggestion, I’ve told you to prepare yourselves spiritually, temporally –
He’s even using the words of a caliph! He has told them to prepare spiritually and temporally! My god, it’s all so clear now.
–make sure that you are out of debt, etc. etc, please, these food riots, and that’s what these are, food riots, to the average person it is a food riot – they only see I can’t afford food they’re seeing their children and so they are being used by the Muslim brotherhood and the left who make the case, you want Mubarak out right, and don’t forget the enemy is Israel and the United States, well we have your path, we’ll feed you. What is the Muslim brotherhood doing now? They are the chief educator, the chief feeder—
Yes, our chief feeder, sort of like Jesus. Oh, no wait, that would be a good thing and Beck tells us social justice is bad.
They’re operating like ACORN – we have food for you. We have to make sure our neighbors don’t get in that situation where they have to take food from someone else. We must do it yourself. Please, I beg of you, please, if you want to save our republic, please. Food storage—
Food storage? Seriously? If Beck’s Storm is coming, do you really want to survive it? Hmmm.
–Prepare yourself. Be who you were born to be, not who you’ve allowed yourself to become because we’re all busy.
Yes, he really did end it with “we’re all busy.” I expected more of the con artist caliph revival, but perhaps Beck is so desperate to save his sinking TV show that he’s sweating flop tears. So sad. Listening to him dangling tin foil theories about food fights and the Muslim brotherhood coming to get his audience, coyly adding that he will only tell you all you need to know when you tune into this TV show tonight would be pathetic if Beck weren’t such a poison on our culture. Beck is desperate to stay on TV. Radio, after all, isn’t TV.
And maybe Rush Limbaugh makes billions off of radio, but he has a face for radio whereas Glenn has the tears for TV. TV is where the stars are and Beck desperately wants to be a star. So he tells his elderly, vulnerable audience and his mentally unstable listeners that only he can save them, but they must tune in to his show tonight. Please, for the love of the Republic, tune in to Glenn Beck tonight, or else they will be taken forcibly by ACORN food riots!
Beck is certainly dangerous given his craven, willful and deliberate attempts to use fear to drum up an audience for his sinking clown tear show, but I’m afraid he lacks the courage to be a true caliph. After all, Beck gets his audience to carry out the dirty work whilst he hides behind a gated entry to his wonder bread world.
Will the food riot conspiracy save Glenn Beck’s show? Tune in tomorrow.

There have been some great and noble caliphs. Glenn Beck could not be caliph of a second-hand underwear store. Yet it is singular how he is always invoking Goebbels.
A salient trait of the Nazi propaganda machine was how they coupled denial and projection to deflect attention from their plans. To wit, they always (a) denied they were going to do whatever they were planning to do; (b) claimed the other guy was trying to do it to them. What is Glenn Beck claiming? That evil libruls and evil Mooslims are planning to starve the salt- of- the-earth “little people” of America. Now, has anyone threatened to starve “little people,” anywhere? Yes, but not libruls or Mooslims.
A couple of years back, on the BBC, I heard some snobby neocon thinktanker, whose name slips my mind, explain that with the consolidation of farmlands in corporate hands and their conversion to methanol production, the poor of the earth would have to accept that one day they would be unable to get food- ever, at all. His only concern seemed to be that they might not go gently into that good night. Otherwise, this consolidation would be an excellent thing for “the real people.” Is Beckyboy barking, perhaps, on behalf of masters who plan to “make it so?” Is he deflecting our attention from the real culprits in advance? I don’t know. Tell you what, though: we need to protect the few family farms we have left. We need to make sure enough of our bearing lands keep producing food, as opposed to industrial crops. We need to keep all the seedhouses from being snapped up by Monsanto. And, just for the Hell of it, it might be a good idea to take up victory gardening again.

You make some good points. I often wonder if these people are creating situations bound to fail so they can say I told you so, when that situation would not have occurred in the first place. To them the ends justify the means. I know they are doing it, they’re prepping Scalia right now.
If they get their way, the US will fail big time. Abolish minimum wage we should just switch spots with China and get it over with. Sweatshops have become a good idea to these people. Dont stop people from outsourcing jobs, just pay less to people who would make it here. They would save on shipping charges.

Reynardine–spot on! Desperate is seeping out of every right wing gop pore! They are screeching more loudly and absurdly every day…Not even capable of linking that grain of truth to their arguments..
Derision –call out and then laugh at the antics if not the verbiage!

Well, I guess if we see a spike in food prices and sales we will know people are listening. I love the analogy that Beck is the problem we are facing. He just doesnt know that he has become what he says others are.
Its really making me angry that the muslims are eating our Freedom fries, Potatoe chips and coke. Thats devious because you cant store up on french fries. Beck and the muslims have us right where they want us.
Desperate is the right word. Anyone whop buys into this crapola is desperate for a doctor.

Food riots.. FOOD RIOTS. There wasn’t even a clear link in there at all, its like saying you should buy a Ford or else Olive Garden will go out of business. How the hell do people even just some up with this random crap. Obesity is out of control in America, there is no reason for food riots, we have more food than we need if anything.
Beck is playing this Chicken Little act that got him famous in the first place. Instead of looking at what could be causing the drop in his audience, he just tries to do what got him famous in the first place. He fails to realize that his audience has dwindled because he makes these retarded claims. He must think America is full of idiots. We have our fair share, but nothing comes close to this crap. He is not only damaging himself, he damages the entire Tea Party image. If Beck loses his audience then they wont tune in to see the orchestrated interviews with Sarah Palin, and CNN and MSNBC at that point will say “fuck you”. Why they did the Bachman response I have no idea, but it made her look like an idiot so maybe they were counting on that.
Once Beck loses he will blame it on censorship, our course.
For him to say liberals are responsible for Egypt, its funny how he tries to spin it as a bad thing. Here we have a country revolting against essentially a dictator because they’ve had enough. How is that bad? Thats exactly what the US did, thats why we’re here. Beck seems to suggest we need to keep things like Egypt under control to benefit ourselves. Theres a word for that: oppression.
Every single day, EVERY day, not exaggerating in the least, there is something retarded they have done. It blows my mind, because they keep becoming more ridiculous.
They do have people that listen to them though. It reminds me of the Mist where the religious lady uses God as a fear tactic and soon enough people trapped in a situation go fucking crazy.
Ugh.

Double Ugh, K.
None of what Beck is saying in this segment makes any sense at all. I don’t understand why those still listening to Beck are doing so since nothing he has predicted has materialized. The FEMA camps? NO. The end of the world because HCR was passed? NO. The end of the world if financial reform passed? NO. The government is coming for your guns? NO The list of his unfulfilled prophecies goes on and on. I believe that those who have stopped listening to him finally saw him as the huckster of rw propaganda that he is. Hopefully, more will come to realize this also.

minor typo: “impending foot riots”, but then if Beck railed about those tomorrow, it wouldn’t surprise me.

Also, like most of Beck’s Nazi analogies, this one is patently false. The Nazis hated the Communists, and Hitler repeatedly talked about Marx’s judaism.

Hey, Beck hates Communists, and repeatedly alludes to just about everybody’s Judaism.

“They couldn’t get enough communists to come in so they liquidated the communists. Now that’s the history.”
No, Glenn. It’s not “the” history, it’s YOUR history.
The actual, real, not-imaginary Hitler on the invasion of the Soviet Union: “A Communist is no comrade before or after this battle. This is a war of annihilation.” In Mein Kampf: “In the years 1913 and 1914 I expressed my opinion for the first time in various circles, some of which are now members of the National Socialist Movement, that the problem of how the future of the German nation can be secured is the problem of how Marxism can be exterminated.”

Small over-looked historical footnote: in 1938 as Hitler’s Germany threatened Czechoslovakia (with Winston Churchill still “in the wilderness”), the significant world leader who begged France and Great Britain to join and stand against the looming aggression was the Soviet Union’s Josef Stalin.
It was only after they shrugged in that event, and forged the Munich Agreement (“Peace in our time”), that the Soviets began considering the self-preserving (they thought) accommodation of a Non-Aggression Pact with the Nazis. That’s the sorry truth.

This is hilarious, Sarah. He must be channeling his inner Rush Limbaugh here. Next it will riots over Oxycontin shortages. Beck’s a mess and a half and his displays have always been pathetic; it’s just gotten worse, which I didn’t think was possible. Amazing what fear of ratings loss will do to an otherwise insane person.

If Glenn Beck believed the scenario he’s selling, he could not in good conscience shill gold coins and “food storage.” The only items anyone with common sense would stockpile against this imminent cataclysm would be lots of simple bolt-action rifles with plenty of spare parts and beaucoup ammunition; I mean, how long might these terrible conditions last, my all-seeing Prophet?
Beckie’s target audience should be the first to see he’s not a serious man.
