GOP Admits It Is Willing To Hurt The Economy In Order To Win In 2012
For those of you out there that gave the Republicans the benefit of the doubt, that perhaps they were just standing on principles in regards to President Obama. Here is your proof that they have their eyes on the election rather than the economy and the American people.
In a report by Politico, a senior Republican Aide stated this,
“Obama is on the ropes; why do we appear ready to hand him a win?” said one senior House Republican aide who requested anonymity to discuss the matter freely. “I just don’t want to co-own the economy by having to tout that we passed a jobs bill that won’t work or at least won’t do enough.”
This is one of the best quotes of the day, bolding is mine.
“To assume that we’re naturally for these things because we’ve been for them does not mean we will be for them if they cause debt, if they [have] tax increases and if they take money from the free-enterprise sector, which creates jobs,”
said Texas Rep. Pete Sessions, who heads up the House Republican campaign arm.
Yes, Rep. Sessions said to assume just because we were for it before, doesn’t mean we are for it today. That is a similar position on healthcare mandate, remember? It is the Republican party that likes to go to war, or create popular programs like Medicare part D without paying for them, remember?
The American Jobs Act is being touted as a law that will help the economy, especially by Moody’s economist Zandi. He stated the Obama Jobs plan would add 2% to GDP and over one million jobs.
When this package is a success, the unemployment rate will drop by 1% to a total of 8% nationally, according to many economist and that is what makes the GOP nervous! An 8% unemployment rate from a peak of over 10% in 2010 is a significant improvement. The Republicans know this plan put together by the President includes ideas from both Republicans and Democrats and is win- win for the economy and the country, but not a winning solution for the GOP’s electability. The GOP is putting party before country, again.

Congressional Republicans unveiled a plan on Monday that they said would hurt the nation’s economy, benefit the wealthy at the expense of the middle class and add billions to the national debt.
The move is a continuation of Republican policies during the Bush administration and part of a plan they hope will lead to rising voter dissatisfaction and Republican gains at the ballot box.

I can only hope that in the next 10 months, Americans have had enough of this crap from the GOP. Do they not see that people prefer to vote for the honest man or woman, the one who helps the country, no matter the party? The GOP is all about ‘my way or the highway,’ ‘my party or none,’ ‘God loves US best.’ No, GOP, God is not very happy with Perry?) and people dying in this nation because of lack of healthcare. Not to mention what you are trying to do to the poor, education, and the rights of women. The GOP is one sick bunch of people, and can’t be brought to account soon enough.

While the teathugliKKKans are on their mission to make this president fail by any means necessary, this country is full of idiots who have been koched by the brothers and they fail to realize they will not be included in their agendas to rule the middleclass & poor with their extreme satanic governing, what will it take before they realize? & Rick Perry is the Koch puppet along with Chris Christie. We,the commonsense & wise realize we must save our country while the rethugs are on their mission to take this country

I’m glad they admitted what those of us who’ve been paying attention have realized about them from the word go. Unfortunately, there are a lot of foolish people who don’t believe that the nihilistic policies of the GOP will negatively impact them. In fact, they are the ones that the GOP controls through appeals to fear, ignorance, hatred, and the idea that Americans like them are “others” who want to take what they’ve earned. After this blatant admission, anyone who still chooses to vote for them deserves whatever he or she gets if that person is elected. There is no longer any excuse to pretend that the GOP is anything other than the power-hungry, ruthless, and empathy-challenged party it has become.

if president Obama can prove that this will not raise the deficit he has them dead to the wall. He can carry that every corner the nation, e-mail it to every newspaper and stand on every intersection and tell everyone and they know it. They have put themselves in a deadly position

When there are 5 applicants for every job, that means jobs are not available for everyone. It appears that you’re the one who is just stupid. Also, UE benefits are paid into by each one of us. Many people go their entire lives and fortunately never need to use them. I’m one of those people, however, it would never occur to me to want to deny those in need. Perhaps you think it would be better if their benefits were cut at 26 weeks, that they would then probably lose their homes, their cars, be unable to feed their family, etc. Thankfully, you’re in a minority and the majority of the people in this country have a heart and care about others. There must be a “Losers Forum” for you to post in, try finding it.

Technically, it’s paid into by employers.
Also, there are places that are being **** and not hiring people if they’ve been unemployed.
On another note, this problem could be solved wholesale if we were paid a living wage and didn’t have poverty.

We will never get the deficit in line unless we put taxes back were they were the last time the budget was balanced. You can not just roll back spending. You have to roll back both. For anything meaningful to happen there will have to be compromise. Republicans will loose the advantage they have if they remain stubborn and go against what the clear majority of American want, which is putting taxes on the rich back to where at least where they were before we got in this mess. We can all show we want this to happen by signing the pledge at truefiscalconservative.bl...

Clearly, this is one man’s editorial with their slant and not a news article. Furthermore, please don’t expect me to believe and article when a source is anonymous. What is he hiding if he or she is truly a Republican Aide? Please don’t treat us as stupid by basing your premise on a anonymous source.

This confrontational TEA party has employed a “Scorched Earth” policy as was demonstrated in the “Debt Ceiling” debacle. Their actions created the S&P downgrading of the US rating and possibly increased the interest rates on all Americans! I’m so tired of these multiple polls coming out trying to scare the population into giving up on our president! Pass the budget! Pay the bills! Quit jacking with the economy! Let’s stop calling names! President Obama has a plan that will work, but this TEA party controlled GOP-er will jump and ask “How high” when commanded by the the TEA party elite! He’s been around too long and he’s a career politician! Rogue states rocking the boat. Rogues states rocking the boat from TEA party activist wanting to change our government more and faster now. Now, I ask you if you should allow Rick Perry to be anywhere near the Nuclear button, when he talks? Perry is in over his head. With no real experience and knowledge or schooling, he continues to flounder as gullible people say he’s the best qualified to be president. Perry graduated with a 2.22 GPA in Animal Science and was a cheer leader, while President Obama graduated from Columbia University and Harvard Law School, was president of the The Harvard Law Review, graduated with honors!(Magna Cum Laude) with specialization in international relations. Who do you think is best qualified for Foreign Policy! America has been at war too long and the people want us OUT! Bush started this war and another, driving the US further into debt and lost sight of what really hurts the snake that attacked us. This president has been effective as Commander-in-Chief, but has not been totally hindered by the 112th Congress. The president is a class man, effective leader authorizing the killing of Osama Bin Ladin, moving out Moammar Khaddafy, and Atiyah abd al-Rahman is dead! There are at least four or five more top leaders dead at the insistence of our president! President Obama has been cutting off the head of the snake! This Economy is not the president’s legacy, but the 112th Congress’ legacy! This TEA party is a confrontational, ostentatious or garish people, and should never be allowed to force their narrow-minded, religious-based views onto others. They have forced their way into local governments and state-level legislatures. Now they want to control the federal government and shut down our Social programs and force their secular ways over the general populations. Wake up America! Do not take this next election for granted. Make sure you can vote in the up-coming elections and be sure to vote in November 2012!
