Job Destroyer Jack Welch Quits Fortune After His Jobs Conspiracy is Shot Down
Jack Welch just shot himself down in a Glenn Beck blaze of conspiracy glory by quitting Fortune magazine after even conservatives said his job numbers conspiracy theory wasn’t substantiated by the economy. Welch has left Fortune, saying he would get better “traction” elsewhere.
Upon the release of the improving jobs numbers which showed unemployment down to 7.8%, Welch tweeted, “Unbelievable jobs numbers..these Chicago guys will do anything..can’t debate so change numbers.” When asked by Chris Matthews if he had any evidence for his claims, Welch admitted that he didn’t. It was just a feeling based upon nothing.
The former CEO of GE apparently didn’t appreciate reality trumping his wild accusations. Fortune reported:
Monday morning on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, Fortune managing editor Andy Serwer said there were a number of things wrong with Welch’s tweet, the biggest of which was that the economy doesn’t back up the former executive’s claim that the numbers were faked.
“I think it’s exactly the opposite of what Jack Welch is saying,” Serwer said. “Things are actually improving.”
Poor Jack Welch only brought attention to his record as a job destroyer by spinning conspiracy theories about “those Chicago guys” allegedly manipulating the jobs numbers. Monday, Fortune ran an article on how he managed to lose 100,000 jobs in the 20 years he was running GE. Their article was titled, “Obama trounces Welch’s job record.”
Naturally Fox News jumped on board and spent days asking if the numbers were real, making a further joke of themselves as they doubled down as jobs truthers as weeks spent as poll truthers.
Welch left Fortune with a petulant comment that he can get better “traction” elsewhere for his conspiracy theories. We can only guess where that might be, but the Murdoch owned Wall Street Journal, which employs several Romney advisers without disclosing their positons, and/or Fox come to mind.
Jack Welch has ended his career with a spectacular flameout better suited to Rush Limbaugh or Glenn Beck than a former CEO of a huge company like GE. When even your former employees like Chris Matthews (MSNBC is owned by GE) are calling you out for your craziness, it’s time to get in the backseat and retreat. But we will no doubt soon be seeing Jack’s conspiracies lauded in Murdoch owned outlets.

Veterans Today and Kevin Barrett have a story out today. Mutt Robme was in a psychiatric unit while a student at Stanford. His rich father sent him to France as a “missionary”. Unfortunately France does not recognize Mormonism calling their a “dangerous cult”. Mutt’s draft dodging is listed as criminal (worse than Bush and Cheney)! If Mutt was in a psych ward in Mass…how can he be president of the US. Lets see if this story goes viral, its doom for the nut neo con Mutt Robme.

Let them keep quitting, Paul Ryan walks out of an interview over a valid question. Welch walks out of Fortune for keeping an objective view of the economy and staying true to what it’s magazine is all about. What will it take for these people to fess up about all of these whack job conspiracy theories? I believe the only truth telling that goes on is when the GOP Primary runoff candidates got so miffed at Mitt and his lying, that they actually spouted off about him truthfully when they thought they still had a shot. Most entertaining thing? See the McCain’s campaign “anti-resume” for Romney showing how much he lied, and made up facts to run for office. How Newt Gingrich called him a liar on Fox news, while the “reporter” challenged him and he kept repeating it. With all of these lies and misdirects, one can hope that Karma will take action quickly and decisively, and the office will go to the only rightful winner! Obama/Biden 2012!

Such a respected executive like Jack Welch would allow himself to be misled by his right thinking biases. He, Donald “Ruffeled Hair” Trump and Forbes really made themselves fools by putting forward this foolish conspiracy idea about the unempoyment number dropping below 8%. The sad part of it is that at least Mr Welch and Mr Forbes knows better,I am not sure about Trump he is a inheritance rich man. Fools play they call it where I come from. Romney knows that these guys are not doing him any good with their air-head comments, but he is not the kind of leader to reject nonsesence. But like his hard right positions, and pandering to every group he meets on a daily basis, he cannot say when they are wrong. Nothing can change this race in any significant way except Barack Obama make a major blunder and that is a tall order. He did not do well in the debate, but it sure did not rise to a disaster. After Biden shut down Ryan and Obama prove Romney to be a liar. By October 25th the elections are going to be cemented in Obama’s favor. Hail the victory party in Chicago, USA & Worldwide.

“Jack Welch has ended his career with a spectacular flameout better suited to Rush Limbaugh or Glenn Beck than a former CEO of a huge company like GE.”
And the manner in which he did so was reminiscent of the Whore Of Babble-On [Sarah Palin.]
Jack must’ve thought him quitting would increase the unemployment rate high enough to validate his criticism . . .

There are people who have dropped out of the job market – but this is accounted for in the numbers. Even if you look at the real unemployment number, it’s down as well, and this coincides with the ADP data. So this whole thing is nothing but a fright wing conspiracy that really just shows them to be even more unhinged than at first glance.
Calling these numbers fake calls into question the professionalism and integrity of everyone who works at BLS. They are insulated from political pressure of the type that would have needed to take place in order for them to “fake” the numbers. Bringing up “these Chicago guys” just plays into this mentality on the right that Pres. Obama is a “Chicago thug.” You know, I was born and raised in Chicago and live about 50 miles north of the great city today and I’ve seen some Chicago thugs in my time. Pres. Obama is no thug.
On another note, Romney and Ryan will not give specifics on how THEY will create jobs or lower taxes without increasing the deficit. We all know they want to kill Big Bird but what the government gives to public broadcasting each year wouldn’t fund the government for a day, so that’s not going to help them. I want to know exactly how he will create 12 million jobs. I want to know how exactly he will reduce taxes for everyone without increasing the deficit or taking away the mortgage and property tax deduction, which would effectively be a tax increase on the middle class. What about SNAP funding? What will happen to the kids kicked off the school lunch program? What happens to WE THE PEOPLE?
These are the things they tap dance around but never really answer. They don’t answer because THEY DON’T CARE.

Jack Welch simply refused to retract his statement after admitting he had no proof. Not only was there no proof to be had, it was speculation on his part that had no substance in the first place. Chris Matthews gave him four chances to correct himself, he refused every time.
He started getting irked, laughed a very uncomfortable laugh, admitted in so many words he was wrong, but he was still going to stand by his tweet. Jack Welch is the perfect example of a Romney follower. I can make statements too. Jack Welch probably paid less than 13% in taxes. Jack Welch has off shore accounts. I of course have no proof, but I will stand by my statements.

Welch is indicative of a mentality on the right that insists that the truth has to address one’s emotional stability. Upsetting facts must be contrived and thus, unreal. Grow up.

I love seeing Jack Welch crashing & burning! Since the 1980′s this financial terrorist has helped kill the Middle Class in America. He and Rmoney are of the same cloth and electing Rmoney to the White House will appease those on Wall Street who make their millions on the backs of the Middle Class and laugh all the way to the Cayman Island banks!
Good riddance, Jack! I was so thrilled to see your ugly vulture face pop back up on the screen. I had no idea, however, how quickly repulsed the nation would be in listening to you! Thankfully, the American people still have their rational minds in tact….
