While Leading the Laziest House in History, John Boehner Tells Obama To Do His Job
John Boehner leads one half of the most unproductive Congress in history; yet, today he told President Obama to do his job.
In the ultimate blame Obama statement, Boehner said:
For the fourth time in five years this White House has proven it does not take trillion-dollar deficits seriously enough to submit a budget on time. In contrast, Republicans will meet our obligations and pass another budget in the coming weeks that addresses our spending problem, promotes robust job creation, and expands opportunity for all Americans. The president’s Senate now must pass a budget this year for the first time in nearly four years, or lose its pay. It’s long past time for the president to do his job. This week, the House will act on a measure requiring the president to submit a balanced budget, and we hope he uses this opportunity to offer the American people his plan to do that.
John Boehner leads a House of Representatives that is one half of the most unproductive Congress in the history of the country. The nation might be able to get things done if the House was in session for more than 124 days this year, and House Republicans would stop passing bills that have no hope of surviving the Senate.
Speaker Boehner and his fellow House Republicans are the equivalent of the lazy relative who is living on your couch and eating all of your food. Except, these moochers on our national couch are costing the taxpayers millions of dollars in salary and benefits each year.
The terrible advice that John Boehner is currently following is coming from Paul Ryan. Rep. Ryan (R-PX90) is the one telling House Republicans that they need to focus on the budget and the deficit. In reality, all of this budget babble coming from the House is all about trying to find something to blame on President Obama.
However, telling the president to do his job while you are leading a legislative body that has accomplished absolutely nothing is a strategy that is destined to highlight the House Republicans’ own ineptitude.
While Obama is trying to make immigration reform and gun control a reality, John Boehner is leading a body that recently tried to repeal Obamacare for the 34th time.
Apparently, irony is completely lost on Speaker Boehner.

people like boehner and ryan are the reason i will never vote gop again, no matter what. i can’t vote for a party who everything they stand for will either hurt me or my family members. why don’t they stop trying to divide the couhtry and actually lead. on second thought, it’s better this way. last time they tried to lead, we invaded the wrong country, new orleans drowned from a storm predicted to make landfall days in advance, and corporate malfeasance reached new levels of brazenness while they looked the other way…..

Regardless Obama has plenty of shortcomings, including his ongoing failure to pass a budget.

Doesn’t matter what passes the house, if it doesn’t pass the Democratic run Senate, it doesn’t matter. Obama has sent SEVERAL budgets, REID didn’t even allow them to go on the floor! What does that tell you? Obama does nothing but say what he wants Over and over and over then, when nothing happens he blames it on the Republicans. Obama had it ALL in first two years. All they got done was Obamacare, which you will see will cost you dearly. They could have created jobs, cut the deficate, done something about immigration. NOTHING. Stop blaming someone else. I would like a President that FOR ONCE took responsibility.

2.Cut Social Security NO, no one wants to CUT S.S. they want to revamp it. It is old an outdated. 8 million new people went on S.S. last year that are not seniors, they went on disability and they can be 24 and go on S.S.
3.Defend DOMA in the courts. Yes, and I agree with that. Have partners have 100 partners but marriage is between a man and a woman. Hard for two men or two women to bring children into the world.
4.Re instate the bush tax cuts, uh didn’t Obama just BEG for that? He was whining about the tax cut for the rich BEFORE re-election, after, OH, it’s the tax cuts for the middle-class. Actually, EVERYONE got a tax cut. So which is it?
6.Privatise Medicare. We can see the postal service is in the red EVERY decade, why not privatize something that someone will work to keep the fraud down. Govt. is obviously bad at stopping Medicare fraud. AND Social Security Disability Fraud
7.A gun in every house. NO, but if you are have never been in prison, never been in a mental institute and you want a gun. It IS your right. Switzerland has EVERY citizen own a gun. They virtually have NO gun crime in Switzerland.
8.Outlaw all abortions ,birth control,put women in their place how dare they want equal pay.
No abort on demand, yes, but in the case of rape, incest or PROVEN health to the mother yes. NO ONE wants to take anyone’s birth control. But I have to pay for someone’s birth control, they can pay for my bullets. Your side has Clinton, the biggest womanizer since JFK, Menendez, a champion of worldwide women’s issues, screwing underage prostitutes. And Equal Pay, what the hell makes you think the Republican’s don’t want equal pay for women??????? Look up the pays at the White House and see how much LESS Obama pays the FEW women he has there, check out YOUR side before you erupt in faux outrage

Yes, Johnny when did it become the President’s job to do the budget? I do believe that Congress does that, and sonny, when you write a budget that screws half the country, the Senate will NOT pass it. And when you vote for the end of abortion and contraception, call women names for expecting to have meds we need covered (just like your Viagra, you know?) and generally putting down women, Americans will never vote for the GOP either. And by the way, how about a bill cutting YOUR salary unless the House passed the President’s Jobs Bill that you are sitting on, and work more than 22 weeks this year? I mean, doesn’t one of you feel the least bit guilty?

The Obama White house and congress (house and senate) remind me of living on a dorm floor in college with 15 guys sharing two toilets. I’m not sure I would have told Obama to do his job more likely I would have asked him to $%^& or get off the pot. Whatever he is doing in there he is making a hell of a stink but never seems to get anything done. For someone who was once lauded as a genious he seems the most inellectually constipated president of all time. He can’t do simple things like maybe come up with a budget or balance a check book. Meanwhile Harry Reid is always leaving the toilet seat down and has no control of his job “at hand”. Give the Speaker a break, he has a job too but the other two guys are taking up the only two spots available.

I’m a retired high school teacher who taught civics. If you had been one of my students, you’d have received a grade of “F” on the responsibilities of each branch of government test. Although the president is required to produce a budget, there’s one thing Article I of the Constitution does not permit him to do–force congress to adopt and pass it. I continue to be appalled at the number of Americans who expect a president to pass a budget when the Constitution prohibits him from being able to introduce a bill into either house of Congress or vote on a bill in either house of Congress. It’s called separation of powers.

President Obama first proposed the sequester and insisted it become law. Now he wants to dump it in congress’ lap and have them put it off, raising taxes instead. He still has not produced a budget in over four years and people think this is leadership?

apparently ignorance is completely lost on Jason. You act as if there is some definitive list of things that Congress has to do. Who says they have to do much of anything? The Constitution clearly lists their duties, no more no less. The fact that that are doing more than little to nothing proves they are operating outside of the bounds of the law and have been for decades on in. I am just curious how doing half of a a lot is not doing your job when your job to begin with is to do little with not much at all. Maybe you need congress in session more than 124 days to make your life work, not everyone.

Our problem is that everyone else is re-electing the same crooks time and time again. The founding fathers of our country did not set up a government of rich self serving fools. The letter explained to agent orange that since he WENT PAST the deadline til Jan. 2nd on the fiscla cliff fiasco, that the persident’s BUDGET PROPOSAL (for you tea gaggers) is all a president can do, would be late because the congress was so LAZY about the fiscal cliff, and he needed time to construct his PROPOSAL.
