Mitt Romney is Having a Really Hard Time With This Whole Not President Thing
The AP reported on the Romneys attendance of Saturday night’s fourth fight between Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez. Placed seemingly in line with cameras, “The Romneys arrived during the undercard, drawing little reaction from the crowd.”
Perhaps the boxing world is not the one in which Romney “captured the imagination” of Americans.
According to Pacquiao’s publicist Fred Sternburg, Mitt Romney stopped by to introduce himself to Pacquiao in his dressing room before the fight with this, “Hello Manny. I ran for president. I lost.”
Just what every fighter wants to hear before the big fight. Romney has not lost his special connection with humanity, it seems.
You could understand Al Gore being devastated after “losing” in 2000, but Romney’s state of depression could be bordering on delusion. It isn’t as if Romney came close to winning the presidency. He pretty much got his clock cleaned. The loss has to be painful, but had Romney been living in reality, he would have known that he was losing heading into Election Day.
Instead of delivering a Nixonesque you won’t have Mittens to kick around anymore, Romney has become a pop culture Zelig popping up and spreading Charlie Brown like state of depression across America.
Proving that Republicans aren’t the only ones picking over the carnage, USA Today leads you to the “Hi, I lost” story with this teaser, “MORE: Did Romney pre-fight meet jinx Pacquiao?”
Et tu, USA Today? This is hard.

How could anyone be so totally lacking in empathy, karma, having a clue, as to mention the word “LOST” to a guy about to contend in a mano-a-mano gladiator sport?

Brian, I read the comments, but I must’ve missed all the “racist” comments you are referring to. Perhaps you meant racism AGAINST social elitism? That’s the only way your statement makes any sense. If you knew anything about the “liberals” you hate so much, you’d know (as a whole) they don’t support social elitism or racism on any level. Maybe you just don’t understand the term “social elitism.” Also, the liberals weren’t the group who said – screw the American people, “our #1 goal is to make sure Obama is a one-term president.” That was a group of “Elite,” extremely conservative, republicans, a group that also disposed of all moderate members of their OWN party as part of that same plan for fear that one might support Obama. Perhaps if they’d focused more on getting the job done, more American people could’ve gotten behind them, but the fact that they acted like whiny children after they lost the first election, proved to us that the current republican party was not (and is still not) LEAST BIT concerned with what is best for the AMERICAN PEOPLE. They’re just sore losers, and their focus for the last 4 years was SOLELY on not losing again. The current republican party doesn’t even remotely resemble the republican party of the past. It has become a party of THE ELITE; of the EXTREMELY conservative right. So much so that they have isolated THEMSELVES from the majority of the people in this country and can no longer even remotely relate to its citizens. THAT is why they lost, THAT is why they will continue to lose, and THAT is why people are still celebrating the loss. What Mitt stood for (well depending on the day) offended us. And yet they’ve learned nothing. They are STILL acting like whiny, childish sore losing CRY BABIES, and rather than accepting the loss and moving on because they know Obama can’t get elected again, they’re just holding our prosperity and survival hostage out of spitefulness, simply because they lost again.

We tell the truth.
The Righties were so blown away after the loss of this election, they still don’t know what hit them. The Romney campaign should have know what a brilliant campaign Prs. Obama led in his first election. I never gave up on Obama. He was and still is the master politician.
It is very odd how off base the Romney campaign were. Sorry, but the Progressives won.

He’s having a hard time coming to terms with his loss, because he never saw it coming even in his wildest dreams. His arrogance and sense of entitlement, along with his being cocooned in an insular bubble with a bunch of sychophants, blinded him to even the possibility. That’s why he prepared a victory speech but not a concession one. In addition, he’s gone back to being a private citizen and is most likely missing all the fanfare that accompanied his campaign. It’s pretty pathetic that he has to stoop to this level for recognition. Like “ilego” says, he will go to his grave without ever acknowledging that this black man 14 years his junior is his superior in every way, which is why he won a second term.

His wife said she worried about his “mental state” if he won; apparently his isn’t the only one she needed to be worried about, win or lose. He’s giving off his negative vibes and aura to everyone else because he couldn’t hang the White House on his trophy case. Isn’t that enough to say what kind of President he would have been? America used the power of the Internet to avert yet another disaster.

See, I don’t think that it’s just that he lost. For the first time in Mitt Romney’s insulated, pampered life things haven’t gone his way. In a big way. Additionally, Mitt and Ann may (MAY) have understood something of the deep and personal dislike they earned for the views they hold and expressed regarding the American people. I believe besides the whole shattered expectations of having the presidency, they may well be feeling not just loss, but of being lost. I’m sure everything in their lives leading to this point had them expecting something very other and now they must be baffled.

“According to Pacquiao’s publicist Fred Sternburg, Romney began the short conversation by saying: “Hello Manny. I ran for president. I lost.” ”
Does Romney really believe that anyone in the civilized world doesn’t already know that he lost the presidential election?
Perhaps this is part of Mitt’s therapy to cope with his shock, disappointment, and utter disbelief over the election’s outcome — by greeting everyone he meets with the following introduction:
“Hello. My name is Mitt. I ran for POTUS, and I lost.”

If so, then he, George H. W. Bush [1992], Bob Dole [1996], and John McCain [2008] need to form a GOP Losing Presidential Candidates’ Support Group.
After Mitt gives his introduction, they can reply, “Hello, Mitt.”

I have to agree with Anne. He never had any idea he could lose. I bet he was told time and again that everything was ok and the Fix was in. All the money people told him he would win, there was no doubt. His family told him, the prophet told him. Losing was a non existent foreign concept.
And now he also has to return to being the nice person he was before hand. He has to face all the lies he told for 18 m0onths or more about Obama. A supposed xtian coming to grips with his confessional. Not easy. The poor fellow is shattered.
And no doubt planning the 2016 run all the while thinking the GOP still thinks he has a chance. Building on that delusion waiting for the big ending.

I don’t think Mitt Romney was such a “nice person” before he ran for president. He has always been an arrogant spoiled rich boy. His choice of a career solidified his character. Yep, they certainly thought the ‘fix’ was in. They had planned on stealing this election, but it didn’t work.
There is NO way a candidate could be so sure he is going to win, as Romney was, unless there is a ‘fix’ in place.

We can credit all those folks who voted no matter how long it took. Those who saw that their vote was being taken away and was determined that would not happen. The voter suppression simply did not work. We can credit the computer “hackers” who found the back doors in the Ohio vote system and just quietly built a fire wall that closed them off. I think we saw the result “up close and personal” where Newt was concerned. We can credit all the Americans who understood how important this election was and voted en masse. “The fix” was in, but it couldn’t overcome determined American voters.

666? I’m kinda partial to #47 myself. His lack of empathy and condesension for ordinary Americans was so very obvious to anyone paying attention. I think his arrogance and his sense of entitlement got in the way of the facts and the polls and he really thought winning the election was a given because he’s Mitt Romney and has always gotten what he wanted. Noone ever said NO to him apparently, he surrounded himself with flunkies and sycphants who fed his ego to the extreme.
He’s a looser, both in his private and political life, and his self acclamation shows he’s not the brightest bulb in the room either.

Mitt Romney is taking his loss hard. His faith is tied up in his success. In order to believe Mormon doctrine like a man can find golden tablets that only he can read…out of a dark hat…once. And then, he can’t find them… among other gross improbabilities. So gross you have to take it on faith.
Like all effective religions, Mormonism not only involves you. It involves your community…a community that takes obvious miss-truths on faith. And builds on that with Monday Night Family Time and generally develops very strong bonds within families.
Furthermore, a vast number of Mormons were fasting believing that god would respond to their fasting by making Romney president.
The end result, in spite of all the evidence to the contrary, 22 critical poles the day before the election–for example–with 20 of them favoring Obama didn’t get his attention. Because, to do so would have triggered a crisis of faith. Romney is struggling with a crisis of faith. And, such a public failure becomes a crisis throughout the faith.
As noted in the article, Romney still doesn’t have anything to say but, “I lost.” To us it’s a, “Yah, no $#!t buddy.” But to him it’s, “god let me down.” The same god that made me choose this wife. Encouraged me to have 5 kids, makes me have sex in a body suit…
To him, it’s strong evidence that his god does not exist. Which, if you look at this world, how could his god exist.

Wasn’t there some big move to get the Electors to not show up on Dec. 6 so that the Congress would then elect Mittens after all? See, he reads the internet and STILL thinks he’s going to win that durn WH. After all, Daddy ran (someone tell me how, when he was born in Mexico,) and his Church has been looking for a President for decades, so THEY told him it was his turn, Ann bought that garbage and told the media “it’s our turn,” endearing them to poor people everywhere. Then he went abroad and showed what he is really made of. Arrogance, greed, entitlement. Not an ounce of humanity in the man. Sorry, Mitt, we like to elect a President who can at least acknowledge that many of us were not even eligible for Cranbrook or Harvard, because our daddies worked in factories just to put food on the table. We got one new pair of shoes every fall, that had to last all school year. THAT’S reality, buddy. Yeah, you lost.

I have no sympathy for Mitt. He was a rich guy with a horrific sense of entitlement, who also fell under the thrall of the oddball belief that he was destined to be president because of some sort of Mormon prophecy. Luckily for America, that prophecy has been about as accurate as the Mayan apocalypse.

Oh yeah, they knew he was NUTS anyway….just LIVING with him and Ann Antoinette!
Even without the Election, which he DID think he’d win, because the KOCH Brother’s thought they could ‘buy’ America, and STILL do, seeing they’re STILL contributing to the Tea-Bagger’s and pledge to, until the next election….when ANYONE with any sense would cut their losses and RUN in shame….he was a DICK…a callous, arrogant, self-entitled rich man with NO heart.

How about 5 million to his friend and supporter Govenor Chrisitie for renewal after Sandy destruction. Piece of cake, right Mitt! I”m sure he helped raise big bucks for Mitt’s campaign.

The over-abundance of arrogance and distinct lack of grey matter and empathy exhibited by this election’s attempted run to steal what is left of the US Government by the republican party hopefully will remain intact and be remembered by the electorate in 2014 so that their majority in the lower house of congress may be dutifully and resoundingly retired.
