Is Mitt Romney Mentally Ill?
During an important election to decide the fate and direction of a country, a voter is likely to consider a candidate’s consistency of actions, values, methods, principles, and expectations, as well as outcomes from previous experience in political office before supporting a candidate. Many voters contemplate a candidate’s honesty and truthfulness, or accuracy of actions, before deciding to cast their vote, and few would choose a candidate renowned for lies and hypocrisy because it defines the candidate as morally deficient with anti-social tendencies. Americans are witnessing a morally deficient candidate for the presidency, and if it is not obvious by now that Willard Mitt Romney is a pathological liar, a hypocrite, and deceitful in words and deeds, it is about time his possible mental illness, Antisocial Personality Disorder (ASP), is exposed to the American people.
An individual suffering from ASP is calculating, manipulative, frequently charming and alluring, and fits the clinical portrait matching depictions of con artists and predators found in literature, and is masterful at using machinations of a criminal who fails to conform to social norms with respect to lawful behaviors. Some criteria psychologists use to diagnose ASP are deceitfulness, as indicated by repeatedly lying, conning others for personal profit, and lacking remorse or rationalizing having caused harm. Besides persistent lying, Romney demonstrates an innate inability to care about harming others borne out of narcissism, elevated self-worth, and a sense of extreme entitlement and cannot tolerate authority figures. If these criteria seem suspiciously similar to convicted felons and life-criminals, it is because over one-third of the prison population suffers from different degrees of ASP and, like Romney, they have a childhood history of the disorder.
Over the course of the campaign, stories of Willard’s childhood bullying and disregard for people other than himself abound, and besides chasing and holding down a gay classmate and cutting his hair, there are other instances of his disregard for others. Romney’s impersonating a police officer is not just a prank, and victims of Romney’s faux law enforcement attention may have a different opinion of his behavior that contradicts the portrait of the squeaky-clean Mormon boy. Indeed, Romney carried his disregard for young Americans into college when he protested in favor of sending young men to fight and die in Viet Nam while his “religious” deferments allowed him to luxuriate in a French castle while he proselytized French people into his cult.
Willard carried his disregard for other people with him to Bain Capital where he repeatedly lied and conned unwitting companies and shareholders into believing that, under Bain management, their firms would flourish only to end up in bankruptcy as Romney and his partners pillaged their assets, shuttered businesses, and raided employee’s pensions all for personal profit. Romney’s narcissism drives him to claim he saved the Salt Lake City Olympics, but he is remiss to give credit to the American taxpayer who funded his efforts to the tune of $1.5 billion, and then destroyed records to conceal malfeasance and cronyism related to his Mormon business associates. He continued covering tracks at the end of his failed term as Massachusetts governor when he charged taxpayers for wiping computers to conceal internal correspondence, and his bankruptcy gang repeated the cover-up practice by destroying books and records in the eToys bankruptcy between 1999 and 2001. Old habits die hard, but especially when they are borne of a cognitive disorder like ASP.
Romney’s narcissism informs his fallacious contention that he “retroactively retired” from Bain Capital in February 1999 despite SEC and FEC filings clearly showing he was CEO until 2002, and his blatant disregard for the law allowed him to assume that because he is Willard Romney, federal and state law enforcement officials dared not challenge his contention that he lied on disclosures. Recently, Romney displayed his belief the law did not apply to all Americans equally when a mine owner who forced workers to lose pay to stand with Romney at a rally contacted Willard for help after a complaint filed with the FEC and Ohio Democrats alleged “extortion, money laundering, racketeering,” to which Romney responded “We get a lot of charges, this will go away.” It was a telling statement that reeks of an organized crime boss used to influencing investigations to avoid prosecution, and not something an upright businessman, or candidate for president, would cavalierly utter.
Throughout the campaign for the presidency, Romney has distinguished himself as a master of mendacity, and boasts that his wealth qualifies him to “run” America as a company Bain Capital is preparing to pillage for Romney’s personal profit. His persistent lying conceals his well-laid plans to eliminate funding for myriad programs that help the least fortunate Americans to fund tax cuts for himself, and informs a man devoid of compassion for others borne out of an extreme sense of entitlement and elevated self-worth.
Romney may not express his dysfunction the same as a convict who shows disregard for others physically, but his willingness to destroy jobs while at Bain Capital, or as president by eliminating entire agencies to fund his tax cuts, is only a matter of degree. As a psychologist pointed out, sociopaths like Romney do not think or act like normal people, and his aggression is acted out on entire groups such as the 47% he considers parasites, or gays, women, and minorities. Romney has demonstrated he will do anything to succeed and everything in “the service of his own wishes” and not what is good for the American people or this country. Willard’s biggest advantage to date is that it is incomprehensible that a presidential candidate would resort to lying, obfuscation, and blatant racism in his bid for the White House, and to a degree this falls on a negligent press that is as aware of Romney’s anti-social behavior, record of entitlement and flouting the law as anyone, and yet they have turned a blind eye to his malfeasance.
Perhaps Romney’s greatest crime is purporting to be a Christian to appeal to the religious right. The crazy Mormon foundations and beliefs notwithstanding, would a Christian lie as a matter of course, promote pre-emptive war, cut funding for children, seniors, and Veterans in the pursuit of greater tax cuts for himself? Willard Romney has given every indication under the Sun that he harbors sociopathic tendencies on a variety of levels, and as such, is not qualified or trustworthy to run for the presidency much less win the election. Any reasonable human being is revolted by a pathological liar, narcissist, and entitled charlatan, so it is curious why any American other than Mrs. Willard thinks he is qualified to be president. It is true that a president has to be something more than normal to handle the Herculean job of leading America, but the idea of more than normal does not mean abnormal, and certainly not a self-entitled narcissist displaying all the traits of a dysfunctional antisocial sociopath with personality disorders reminiscent of a third of the prison population.

Well, yes. Technically, I suspect he is a Dark Triadist: Sociopathy, malignant narcissism, and Machiavellianism. And I’d like to know what-all he was doing when he was impersonating a police officer. Something tells me it wasn’t *kust* a harmless prank.

The reason Mitt-wit was impersonating a cop – light on top of car and all! – was to pull over young women. He claims he “just wanted to scare them.” Yeh, I bet he did!

Not dumb. Brainwashed (or thought controlled for those who insist on a too-strict interpretation of words).

The only reason the people voting for Romney are doing so……
Is to get the BLACK guy out of the WHITE House. I will say this til the day I die. Racism, is why Obama is not crushing this man by 30 points. If Obama was white, and named Benjiman Franklin Smith, he would be known as one of the greatest Presidents ever.

I have been saying exactly what you have been saying for quite some time. I also believe Obama will go down as one of the best presidents this country has every had. Mitt Romney is pulling a sham unprecedented in human history, and so many people are believing it. I hope the sane understand this and outnumber the not-so-sane and give Obama another 4 years to continue getting this country on the right path.

Actually I’d say ‘the MAIN reason, not the only reason.
Lots of the oligarchy and our ‘public servant/rulers’- hand maidens to the oligarchy – aren’t necessarily racist enough to hate him worse than they want their own puppet, more power, more profits, lower taxes, etc but they are racist enough to understand how and to manipulate the innate racism of a considerable number of our very hateful and very fearful society! I think that his company was certainly a predatory business. In a video-taped presentation to prospective investors (I think) he talked about “harvesting” the companies taken over by Bain. Like “harvesting organs” from cadavers. The companies were left to die and the discarded employees to rot after Romney took the money and ran. I simply cannot believe that he did not break rules and regulations along the way.
The thought of Romney running for the office of president must really tickle his misguided funny bone. After a career of ruining American companies and the lives of many American workers and hoarding his ill-gotten gains abroad to avoid taxes, he now wants to lead the country. Just where would he lead it?

I have been thinking this all along, that Mitt is mentally ill or is a sociopath. I am glad to see I am not the only one thinking along these lines. When Mrs. Mitt said she worried about his mental well being, if elected, I was pretty certain she also knows Mitt has a serious problem. No one can lie as much as Mitt and not be pathological liar, he is sick and if elected the USA will suffer a tremendous blow, we will be in another war, we will be shipping more jobs overseas and we will be at the mercy of Mitts tax plan. God help us all.

Hopefully there would be enough “rational” Repubs in Congress to stop any Mitt-insanity and maybe the Dem majority in the Senate could get some balls and help stop him. BUT….. not to worry, our honorable Barack Obama is going to be elected and Light will prevail over the darkness overshadowing our land. The next four years will be remarkable as truth trumps the “lies” of the oligarchs around the world. Peace will start to break out as the tyrants of supposed “religious” wars are neutralized as the wheels of the expensive war machines of the West start to fall off. Breathe deeply and imagine an amazing age of peace that includes President Barack Obama!

I do think Willard exhibits signs of sociopathic tendencies. I read a post somewhere, now I can’t remember where, that Mormons are taught to lie if it’s for the “greater good”. I do not know if this this is true or not. If someone who has studied this sect does know, please enlighten us.

JCM – Yes, it is true all Mormons are encouraged to lie to advance the cult’s agenda. An important part of that agenda is putting a Mormon in the White House to expedite the Mormon theocracy. In fact, the cult considers their leader, the First President, “president pro tem” of the world waiting for a Mormon president to use America’s war machine to enforce installation of the cult’s leader as Supreme Ruler.
Their goal is a Mormon theocracy governed by their so-called prophets. Look up White Horse Prophecy for detailed plans of world domination that begins with a Mormon president. You can follow along as they fulfill that prophecy that parallels extremist Muslim beliefs because you should know how, why, and when they either convert you to Mormonism, or execute you for non-compliance.

Lyin’ for the Lord! Milk before meat. These are both tenets of the Mormon faith. *To protect the church by “answering” questions with as little or misleading information as possible. (*Milk) **So no one finds out the truth! (**Meat) It explains his lack of answers on the budget and jobs plan. (Actually, so does not having a plan at all, which I think even some Republicans are starting to suspect!) If you read up on Mormonism and Christianity, they are somewhat similar, and then they take a sharp turn somewhere and just trot on down to crazy town. Or, if you take Christianity, you know the kind where people have to tell you they are “Christian”, but their actions belie their words? That’s the kind he is. His “truth” changes every time the dynamic of the room changes. He is one thing for sure, and that is a LIAR!

I have a simpler answer and it explains why he is running for office.
Mitt is the bishop of the Mormon church, the church believes that America and the constitution were created for their needs. America is the promised land specifically Missouri.
They believe that lying is a necessary process if it advances the needs of the church.

No one lies like that knowing he’s lying and then continues to do so. That’s pretty pathological. To say to Obama at the debate..repeating it doesn’t make it truth–the exact thing he has been doing since the primaries. He was surely projecting on himself hoping you wouldn’t notice. I did. It’s like in 2008 — It mattered not that Palin was unqualified yet the Rethugs continued to cheer her and McCain – she being a heartbeat away from the President’s office. It’s about the ‘win’. They care not the damage and destruction to the country – to the world.
You just have to listen to any of the elected Rethug Senators and Congressmen — they’re all spewing Romney/Ryan’s lies.

It was only a short time ago in an interview that Ann Romney voiced her concern for Mitt’s ‘Mental well being’. Multiple personalities?? Who knows.
We have seen her many times when speaking, she lets the cat out of the hat by speaking how she feels — the truth. For instance — ‘Those people’; her meltdown that ‘it’s hard’, among many others. She’s not learned how to play the game and she’s giving it away. It’s no wonder they really don’t have her out there like the First Lady — who even in 2008 was out front doing many appearances on her own. Mitt’s campaign is not sure what she’ll say whether at appearance, interview or on TV show appearances like the View this Thursday which Mitt has pulled out of saying schedule. Truthfully — he’s a whimp and fears Whoopi. Speaks volumes how he’d deal with foreign world leaders — Chicken sh|t!!!!! Also tells you he’s Norquist’s & Ryan’s Puppet!!! He’d be a PINO – President in Name Only!!
Notice the difference with the GOP to Dems. Think back to 2008 – Cindy McCain very rarely made appearances on her own. You have to say pretty much the same with Palin. She did some but the usual visual was to see when McCain was stumping, Cindy and Palin were on stage with him. Joined at the hip.
Not much diff in 2012 for Mitt and Ann and Paul Ryan — who most of the time is there on stage with Mitt to prop each other up. Ryan’s out on his own mostly when Mitt is debate prepping or he’s been doing minimal appearances. Only this past week that Mitt has actually done more than one stump a day and definitely only this past week – 2 states in one day. Holy crap!!!
Then look at the Obama/Biden ticket. Obama, Biden and the First Lady are all over the country doing mostly appearances ‘on their own’. They don’t need the proping up of the other or have the fear of what each other says. Occassionally Jill Biden appears but she does work full-time.

I find it strange that no one in the mainstream media picked up on Ann Romney’s statement about her concern for her husband’s “mental well-being” if he were elected. Remember that a vice presidential candidate (Eagleton) had to withdraw from the race many years ago because he had once been treated for depression. Not a peep out of any of the dozens of commentators or pundits whose analyses of the current race for the presidency appear daily on television screens, on radios, on the internet, in newspapers and national magazines. Her comment has only been addressed on very selective web sites and frequently introduced by commenters.

But then…reading this, and doing some fact checking. Holy cow. All I have to say is, I’d better arm up in case he does make office. I’ve heard others mention the “white horse prophecy”. All I can say to that is, he’d be wise to stay out of TX. Seriously. That won’t fly here, and he’ll be met with some amazing resistance…

This post is BRILLIANT! This sums up many of my insights and concerns. I hosted a debate watch on that first Presidential debate and I was disappointed at the extreme uproar against the POTUS. Granted, he was certainly not at his best and probably had little time to prep while running the free world and campaigning. He seemed tired and preoccupied prior to the debate. Romney has been prepping for years. I think President Obama was literally shocked and frustrated at the level and consistency of blatant lies coming out of Willard’s mouth. Someone made a statement that Obama relies on American intelligence and Romney relies on American ignorance. And after the debate, between the MSM and pundits, it appears that Romney won out relying on American ignorance and bold faced LIES. I consider myself one of President Obama’s top supporters. I felt so frustrated and depressed after listening to the reviews and jokes about something so serious. I knew if Rachel Maddow was crucifying the President, then there was no hope at any other review and it continues to this day. And no one focused on or challenged the LIES! What has America come to? It’s quite frightening that the amount of racism and bigotry that was hiding under the service was so extreme and massive. And Willard has plugged deeply into it fanning the flames with a twinkle in his eye and a sarcastic grin on his face, because he will do ANYTHING to reach the power of the Whitehouse! I heard a report on Current TV about the Koch Bros, Murdock and their origins and their massive infiltration of the American psyche and takeover of the MSM, colleges and government officials with their extreme ideology. It was alarming and I’m seeing the evidence. I always wondered how Hitler could pull off such a farce. America WAKE UP! Willard Mitt Romney utilizes transference taking credit for Obama’s good and projecting his own evil onto the POTUS. He is mentally frightening, dangerous and without a heart and soul. God help us…

Since Willard has proven to be a pathological liar who has also proven he is out of touch with the concerns of everyday Americans, and has two left feet when it comes to dealing with foreign countries, that doesn’t speak well of those who ignore these facts to vote for him. Add in his callousness in throwing Americans under the bus by outsourcing their jobs to countries like China, and we get the picture of an empathy- and

What disturbs me most is that millions who say they are Bible believing Christians defend Romney’s lies and plan to vote for him. This tells me that their hatred of PBO trumps their dedication to the Christianity they claim to be so devoted to. It’s all a farce. Just like those they worship in the GOP, they use religion as a means to gain power. The effects of their constant lying has provided me with some insight into why the latest Pew Research Poll on religion shows that fewer Americans are adherents of any religion, including Christianity. I think the constant lying that some Christians do, especially GOP politicians who wear their Christianity on their sleeve, turns people off to any attempts to convert them. Although republicans don’t know it, they’re their own worst enemy when it comes to converting anyone to Christianity. They are well on their way to ensuring that America is not a majority “Christian” nation in the very near future, and they’re doing it by lying, showing how greedy they are, by hating everyone who is not a republican, and by being constant war mongers. There are other things that turn millions off about them, but these are among the top four I’ve noted that are the most prevalent.

Some “Bible-believing” Christians have only two issues: abortion and gay marriage. It matters not what a candidate says or does other than in these two areas. Unfortunately, they seems to have become the representatives for all Christian in the media. Well I am a Christian, they do not represent me.

To the individuals who state Romney may possibly be Autistic that is very uneducated. Do not send this heathen parasite into the Autism Community. In general Autistic individuals very rigidly conform to rules and regulations. Romney has something else going on altogether as it is obvious he feels he can make his OWN rules and regulations.

Yes, it’s true that Romney is a sociopath and that his policies will result in less jobs, higher taxes for the middle-class, and a possible nuclear engagement in the middle east, not to mention loss of medicare for seniors and loss of access to affordable health care for all.
It’s also true that, thanks to President Obama, taxes on the middle class are the lowest they’ve been since the Truman administration (bit.ly/f74pD8) and jobs have been returning consistently for the past 2 years (despite the GOP Congress’ attempts to stifle job creation).
But, it’s ALSO TRUE that, unlike President Obama, Mitt Romney is as he puts it, himself) “Anglo-Saxon.” So the majority of Fox News Party supporters will shoot themselves in the foot and vote for Romney (and a GOP Congress) in November.

YES !
In the same way that Palin is “mentally ill !”
Malignent Narcissism– both are text book.
Sociopathic as well in that both have no empathy for others and are ego-centric to the point where NOTHING matters except their own welfare.
NOTHING ever fills the need for attention in either one.
Both lie in the face of contradiction due to their narcissistic unreality bubbles. Neither feels it is wrong to lie and both feel they have “God On Their Side.”
Both have grandisose sense of self and fell “entitled” ( like Ann said, ” it’s our turn”)to whatever they want with no need to put out the appropriate effort to EARN what they want.
I could go on for paragraphs but just look up what constitutes “malignent narcissicm” on google and you will find verbal descriptions of both these individuals.
Palin started and Romney has completed the takeover of the “legitimate” GOP i.e. people who actually disagree on issues and policies but who are still reasonable intelligent thoughtful people with character ( well some republicans are LOL )
Palin brought the idiots out of the woodwork.

Allen West
Cain and his “nine nine nine”

The “I’m not a witch” woman whose name escapes me ( sorry but at 69 I sometimes have “senior moments.”

Donald Trump

THIS ELECTION IS NOT POLITICS AS USUAL.
THESE ARE NOT “NORMAL” POLITICIANS WHO DISAGREE.
This is a fight against racism, bigotry, woman hating, insecure people with NO character who use politics as the stage to exhibit their narcissism because of the large audiences it provides them for their “narcissistic supply”.
NARCISSIST FEEL THEY DO NOT EXIST WITHOUT THE ATTENTION FROM OTHERS THAT MAKES THEM FEEL THEY EXIST.
They cannot function without this attention and will do ANYTHING —ANYTHING !!!!—- TO…

OK, I wrote all that venting before I even read the article cuz I have been saying for a while now that Romney too was a narcissistic like Palin.
Now, let’s just say that I agree with everything the author said.
Romney ( and his little puppet Ryan) are sick to the point of being evil — I use the definition of M. Scott Peck who wrote ” The Road Less Traveled” and “The People of The Lie” — Google will give you info on the books.
The GOP is no longer a functional political party but consist of individuals who cannot accept the fact that not only do we have our first black president but that he has done a fine job despit their stated goals of preventing him from doing his job.
They couldn’t prevent him from being elected, and like THEY STATED, they have done everything possible to block his ability to function.
They have failed and they will fail to prevent him from being re-elected BUT ONLY IF WE DO NOT ASSUME PRESIDENT OBAMA’S ELECTION AND REMEMBER TO VOTE—AND DRAG YOUR FRIENDS WITH YOU AND GIVE RIDES TO STRANGERS !
Romney as president would be just as bad as not worse as having Sarah Palin as president!
If that doesn’t scare the hell out of you nothing will !

When I initially heard about Romney impersonating a cop, my first thought was “weirdo”. And when I heard about him physically assaulting one of his classmates it was “gay basher”. And him walking his nearly blind teacher into a door? “Cruel.” We’ve all heard about kids there was something wrong with mentally — “bad seeds” and all that — and you can tell there’s something wrong with them, even at that young age. Romney was one of these kids, and his behavior when he was young was predictive of is behavior as an adult.

This is exactly what is happening as I type.
American Airlines, the latest airline to “belly up,” has called in Bain to help with possible bankrupt proceedings.
Why hasn’t this been in the news?

His behavior appears to have of the symptoms of a psychological disorder, however Willard is choosing to be deceptive. All behavior has purpose so he’ll do whatever to gain power. What really gets me is there are allot of voters who either don’t see or are willing to ignore his behavior just because they want the other guy out. I still wondering what it will take for America to wake up. Is lying really OK with voters? In a informed, educated group of people who value honesty and integrity Romney would have been out of the game a long time ago. However, critical thinking seems to be lacking with many voters, denying fact checkers, looking at a candidates record and an inability to see through the smoke have made this election to close for comfort.

With 3 years in a Social Science degree I have asked myself this question on numerous occasions. I looked in the DSMR-4 numerous times and boy this country is in for a ride when Romney steals the election. But if you really want to see the office of the POTUS abolished and replaced by “The Leader” and thats what the office will be called in the future. Google the “Business Plot”. Romney fits the profile perfectly for the plans layed out in the “Business Plot”. Romney was hand picked by Wall Street and the corporations long ago. In simple terms the plotters to over throw the US government and make the country into a corporate Fascist State in the past has finally found their man. Google the “Business Plot” and Im sure you will agree with my findings.

i’ve been wondering this for some time myself, thinking ASPD, too, but i’ve been put on to narcissistic personality disorder which certainly shares a number of traits with ASPD.
you line of thought at the end, about the Herculean job of being president, that he or she has to be something more than normal, but not abnormal as Romney is sparked a thought — Romney is like Bizarro from Superman comics. Or if you prefer something classically literary, Frankenstein’s creature. Both intended to be — and are, in a way — something more, but twisted.

For a while there I thought you were talking about Obama.
A pox on both their houses. The are both looking to implement a New World Order; Obama & Co. from the Left and Romney & Co. from the Right. We the People need to override the NDAA and all the other people-control measures that have been put in place for years now – from both sides of the political aisle.
It’s time – and past – for The People to wake up, indeed. And not just about Romney.

I just posted a video last night about Mitt’s mental well-being. His family has voiced a concern about it on several occasions. Perhaps we should take heed?

I agree with this well written opinion post. I must say, Romney lies through his teeth in a most frighteningly easy manner. That much is obvious. However, the only question I have in regards to Antisocial Personality Disorder and the claims backing it up is, where are the references. I’m not going to vote for Romney; I decided that a long time ago. But for me to truly believe he has some case of ASP I need to have verifiable facts to support the claim. Please do post your sources.

His main message is “I can do this” or “I can do that” for every problem discussed. I can see him at a meeting of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the US Armed Force saying “Hey, I’m your Commander In Chief and I know what is best -NUKE them -let’s get this thing over once and for all. Anyone who objects leave the room -you’re fired.” (he’s a dangerous asshole)
