Navy Seals Are Not Dominionists’ Rescue Squads
As a Board Member if the Military Religious Freedom Foundation I am more acutely aware than most Americans of the breadth of influence being insinuated into our military on multiple levels every single day. In addition to the mandatory attendance requirements at events sponsored by, and performed on, military campuses everywhere – there are commanders and Pentagon level top brass that intentionally use our presence overseas as a federally funded missionary project. This flagrant misuse even leads to senseless deaths such as the one that took the life of Nicolas D. Checque this weekend when he was sent in to rescue Dominionist missionaries working as “economic development” professionals in Afghanistan and took a fatal bullet to the head as a result.
One press release on this tragic incident reads:
“Twenty-eight-year-old Petty Officer 1stClass Nicolas D. Checque, of Monroeville, died Sunday of combat-related injuries sustained while supporting operations in Afghanistan, the Pentagon said in a release.
The rescue operation was launched when coalition forces reported that Dr. Dilip Joseph was in imminent danger.
Joseph, who worked with the non-profit Morning Star Development of Colorado Springs, was kidnapped Wednesday along with two Afghan staff members — one is part of the medical team, the other part of the support team. Joseph has been the non-profit’s medical adviser for three years.
Most who read this will have no idea that the Dr. who was rescued is responsible for the needless death of this young man. Let me explain. This Dr. works for a Dominionist non-profit out of Colorado Springs, Colorado called Morning Star Development. Those of us who research Dominionism call Colorado Springs ground zero of Dominionism. It is a breeding ground for these leaders with new enterprises cropping up all the time. Morning Star is one of these proselytizing ventures disguising themselves as a secular economic development non-profit.
They claim to respect the dominant religion in Afghanistan and that they refrain from proselytizing there out of deference to Islam. If you believe that, as they say, I have some prime real estate in the Florida Everglades to sell you! These groups will take on any front and go to any lengths to weasel their way into the cultures and lives of those they target as needing to be saved. This time the Dr. was kidnapped by the Taliban which prompted the search and rescue mission that killed Nicolas.

Subject: Tragic Seal Team Loss
Date: December 10, 2012 6:56:55 AM MST
To: Mikey Weinstein <mikey@militaryreligiousfr…>Dear MRFF,
I’m really heartbroken to see that we’ve lost another brave member of Seal Team 6, tragically just before the holidays. What makes this loss even harder to bear is that it was totally unnecessary.
Why are we risking the lives of our special forces personnel to rescue members of a christian evangelical team (Colorado Springs based ‘Morning Star Development’ in Afghanistan?) Private citizens who go to far off places to spread their religion should not assume that brave Americans are going to risk their lives (and taxpayer resources) to bail their asses out when they go into tribal lands where they’re not welcome and not requested, trying to spread their own brand of religion under the guise of charity work and free medical care.
They’re certainly free to do that if they so choose, but NOT with the tacit support of the US Government–and that’s exactly what they have when a discredited general officer (Allen) orders our forces to rescue them. I can’t imagine the heartache in the family of the lost Seal Team 6 member. If it was my son that was lost, I’d be calling for a congressional investigation looking into the why we were bothering to try to accomplish this rescue at all.
If that doctor and his team weren’t employees of the US Government on orders to be there, then we shouldn’t bother to help them. It is NOT the government’s job to rescue EVERY American from EVERY dangerous situation into which they willfully place themselves. Signed, US Air Force Officer.”
Precisely! Here is a very short clip from a 2006 BBC Documentary on military missionaries highlighting a Col. Walten Walker, U.S. Military in Haiti expressing that harvesting souls is his primary mission.
Keep in mind that most of the residents of Haiti are Catholic. This is why I repeatedly discuss how Dominionists only recognize “the right kind of Christian” – which leaves Catholics and mainstream Christians out of their exclusive club.
AlJazeera made a documentary in their “Fault Lines” series on military missionaries, “Evangelism in the Military”. The 1st segment is 16:32 but I appeal to you to watch it all the way through. It is invaluable to conveying the very message that I am writing about. Included interviews in this clip are Jeff Sharlet, Chris Hedges and even our own Senior Researcher for the Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF), Chris Rodda. You will walk away with a deeper understanding of why we take this deadly serious at MRFF.
The 2nd clip is only 5:19 and highlights a stunning interview with former National Security Advisor, Brent Scowcroft, 3-star General (retired) who demonstrates that he is 1) an unconscionable liar of the highest order; or 2) that he is woefully naive and has no business in positions of power concerning security, our military and the United States of America.
I can’t tell you how disturbing it is to hear from those who have held or currently hold positions of power downplay and disregard the ramifications of what is clearly happening. The very fact that a man like Scowcroft can attempt to whitewash reality is reminiscent of the routine fabrications of ReBiblicans and Dominionist leaders. And the fact that no matter how much evidence exists, even on film and recorded audio, they have no compunction about not only blatantly lying and stating that its not true, but to have the unmitigated audacity to get indignant!
I will be doing a full expose on God’s Own Party? tomorrow with links on Morning Star and how they are actually yet another front group for Dominionist/New Apostolic Reformation world evangelizing missions taught to fly under the radar as international aid and assistance groups. Here is a quote from Morning Star founder and CEO Daniel Batchelder about another fake altruistic secular “economic development and aid mission” to Haiti in recent years…
“You are kingdom professionals…. new wine in a new wineskin to complete the Great Commission.”
Dan Batchelder
President, Morningstar Development
Colorado Springs, Colorado USA
He is a Dominionist. An extremist as blindly devoted, obsessed and dangerous as the Taliban that kidnapped their Dr. The Great Commission is all-consuming for these zealots and they do not acknowledge boundaries of any kind as they pursue their goals. They will twist the death of this young Navy Seal as ‘God’s will’. This senseless loss of life must stop! Our military must not be dispatched into action to rescue those who intentionally go into war torn areas to harvest souls.

Thank you, Leah. As the policy director for a large Protestant organization, I know full well that our missionaries – who bring help, and who do NOT ‘harvest souls’ – do NOT go where they are told it is dangerous. They know full well that they are an impediment to our government and military if they disregard the warnings. But the Dominionists? They think they walk on water and deserve nothing less than all out military assault to save their butts.
Secular Americans who were working in Bosnia in the ’90s trying to help the multi-faith and multi-cultural women who were all survivors of rape were utterly on their own when this government announced they were going to bomb the area. NO one rushed in to save them. They had to exit promptly or take shelter with the local populace and got NO special treatment.
Dominionists think they are God’s chosen, so they believe they have special standing before our US government and military.
Time to disabuse them of this idea. If the government won’t rescue Methodists, Congregationalists, or Episcopalians – and they don’t – then why did this brave young man die trying to rescue a Dominionist idiot who disregarded all common sense? ENOUGH. NO special treatment for anyone, especially those who think they are above reality.

We will never know who all the possible covert Ops personnel that exist around the globe, but – Morning Star is drenched in Dominionism. This is not the first time, nor the last that our military will put themselves at risk to rescue a proselytizer.
It is for that reason that I discussed the ongoing massive indoctrination of our enlisted. To them, this type of mission is rational and justified. Remember to consider how many of these kids came from Jesus Camps over the past couple of decades where they were brainwashed into believing that we are in the End of Days and that it is purely a battle of Good (Christians) vs. Evil (Islam, et al). An all-volunteer military is a ripe environment for these Sheoples.

Heck, no redundancy, there! [grin]
Don’t be offended… just tryin’ to help: The not-really-a-word “dunno” isn’t short for “don’t;” rather, it’s short for “don’t know.”
Therefore, when you write “I dunno know,” you’re actually writing, in effect, “I don’t know know.” So, when you write “I dunno,” it’s the same as writing “I don’t know.”
Bottom line: It’s “I dunno,” not “I dunno know.”
Example: He said he didn’t go there, but I dunno.
Example: I dunno ’bout you, but I’m outta’ here.
Please don’t be ticked-off about being publicly corrected, though. Believe me, it’s happened to me… more than once. And in at least one case, it was for a far dumber and more obvious thing that I should have known. Trust me, that was more embarrassing (for me) than this could ever possibly be for you. Far more.
Happens to the best of us. Walk it off.

Not my comment but thanks for the clarification. I have never used “dunno” and probably will not in the future but see it used frequently and was simply guessing at it’s full meaning.
And now I know that most of the time people are not using it correctly.

Really? First of all, I appreciate it beyond measure when people take time to comment on an article that I write with thoughtful ideas, questions or thoughts. Many in this day and age use small handheld devices to do this and spelling takes a back row seat for me over welcoming the participation on a very serious issue.
BTW – my guess is that CrystalWolf meant to say,” I dunno now”. There are better ways to spend your time than policing commenters who are taking action and interest in issues of freedom vs. theocracy.

Well said, Churchlady! And to your point, “Dominionists think they are God’s chosen, so they believe they have special standing before our US government and military.” In far too many cases Dominionists actually do have special standing before our US Government and military.
As you pointed out, the secular Americans who were in need were left without the aid of military rescue. I couldn’t agree with you more that this must stop and it is time that we take this to the Pentagon, and not just once, but repeatedly. Thank YOU!

Who ordered this “rescue” of the doctor? Why does our State Department allow these people (organizations such as Morning Star)to go on these types of missions? Or, is it the U.S. military who allowed the doctor into Afghanistan? The entire situation just doesn’t make sense to me…is this another case of “follow the money?”

“According to a Pentagon statement, NATO and U.S. Afghanistan commander Marine Corps Gen. John R. Allen ordered the rescue when intelligence indicated that the doctor was in imminent danger of injury or death.”
We are looking into this as well.

I’m sorry but as much as I agree with what you’ve said in principle I’m not naive enough to believe it. The US military is more indoctrinated with Dominionism combined with White Nationalism than any other segment of our society. People need to get over their military fetishism and accept that soldiers are humans like the rest of us, just as prone to propaganda and group think. The nature of the military makes them a thousand-fold more-so. Furthermore, rural whites are likely to believe in the completely insane narratives to begin with, for example that the modern state of Israel is the result of biblical prophecy and that America is destined to protect them and/or that we’re supposed to spread Christianity by force to the “savages” of the Middle East.
It’s time to be more realistic about the profoundly backwards nature of American society.

I understand exactly what you are saying and somewhere along the way in recent decades ones’ faith became a public event. From ribbons and the Ichthus fish glued to the back end of vehicles to waving large signs in stadiums saying John 3:16…people have been indoctrinated to put their faith on display. It has departed from the teachings of Christ that I learned all my life, raised Lutheran, that placed emphasis on the word “humble”.
Dominionists can’t even spell the word! The message to them is so scripture-twisted that they actually believe it is not only appropriate – but incumbent upon them to promote a divine superiority over those who are “unchurched”. Truly a movement toward the furtherance human interest – not God’s.

When I heard Morningstar, I knew the Dommies were involved and that is why a rescue was ordered by Armed Forces Commander, was it Allen? We do not negotiate for hostages and that is what they did by sending in the Seal team, one person had to die for a doctor who should have been handled like any hostage in any situation like this. Thanks for the confirmation of what I thought.

What a perfect way for Dominionists to effect a coup against this country. Fundamenatlist soldiers or not they will follow the commands of their leaders. Anyone who cannot see this is being done, is blind. It scares the heck out of me. Perhaps when you are under religious rule, you will believe. But then it will be too late. You will answer to the American Taliban. Go read the info at the 7 Mountains website if you don’t believe what they are after.

The truth of this rescue, if Seal Team 6 was used, this individual was probably CIA.
The only joy greater than bringing home a fellow service member is bringing home a fellow American. Our enemies must know that if they take one American the weight of the finest warriors the world has ever seen will descend upon them.
Our enemies must know that our military shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for we are truly our brother’s keeper and the finder of lost Americans. And we will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy our brothers & sisters and you will know our power when we lay our vengeance upon thee.
We, as military personnel, will rescue Americans where ever they are taken, we don’t ask why they were there nor do we care, we only care to return them to their family…it’s what we do, it’s who we are and we are proud to do it.

Isn’t it bad enough the CIA is running drugs for money, while ordinary soliders are little more than pawns in this neo-imperialist shell game? I have long wondered if the fact that the Muslims and the Hindus for instance are far more deeply embedded in their religion then Christians are, if this isn’t the reason that the Dominionists are so intent on creating people who are totally brainwashed into their religion.I wonder if they believe that it’s almost impossible to fight people using people who are not as Christian as they want them to be.
And even worse in my mind is there a stranglehold upon our leadership to not do anything about this movement in our military. We know this movement is not new and quite frankly I’m not sure if I see any top-down action being performed. I wonder what the response of Leon Panetta would be if you ask you today to do something about this. I have a feeling that anyone who does anything about this is going to be pointed out to be an unchristian American leader who needs to be removed.
I also wonder what the effectiveness of this is once the people leave the military.while they are in the military what could be better than a group of people fighting gods wars for him?
Trying to inject Christianity into Muslim countries could be the impetuous for even more killing. And quite frankly that’s what the Dominionists fully intend in my mind.the final war for God

Thank you Rodney for serving.
This nation enlist young men and women and send them in harms way. They go and do what we asked them to do without question, because they follow the chain of command and get it done.
If it is what the citizens like and agree then we applaud the actions of the armed forces, if it goes against the “thinkers”, then we criticize the actions of the armed forces and dismiss them as brain washed.
They have done what the commander in chief and his brass knuckles have asked them to do.
CRITICIZE THE LEADERSHIP not the doers.
The deployed men and women do the best with a bad situation they have been handed.
Go and demonstrate to end the war, go and demonstrate against the Military Industrial complex, go and argue with the war hawks, go and
get Obama to honor the end the wars promise, but lay off picking on the individuals who have done thier best to serve the country and the orders they receive.
Their job is not like yours, that you can just “not do it”. The seving military can get court martial and jail time for not following orders.

Maranon,
I can only speculate from your reaction to this article that you did not read it.
“They have done what the commander in chief and his brass knuckles have asked them to do.
CRITICIZE THE LEADERSHIP not the doers.”
I have done exactly the opposite of what you are yelling at me about (implied by the capitalization in your comment). One of my biggest points of concern is precisely that our men and women are losing lives sent into missions that are outside the scope of their duties. I AM criticizing the Commanders and even stated that we intend to take this incident in particular to those in charge at the Pentagon.
Our “protests” surpass holding signs. We take action in defense of our troops who do not have the right to refuse an assignment. In fact, at MRFF we represent approx. 30,000 men and women in the military who have come to us for help because the chain of command has failed.
Service is commendable and I am grateful to all who have served to protect our freedoms and who swore to uphold the U.S. Constitution – NOT the Bible.

Exactly, Frank. That is just the problem…they have been hiding in plain sight for decades and all these talking heads have to do is deny their existence – and people lap it up.
We don’t want to consider the complexities of acknowledging that America is being represented as fighting a Holy War. It is much easier for us to dismiss it as a few isolated incidents by a handful of wingnuts. meanwhile, the wingnuts flourish and indoctrinate. Joyner is a Senior Apostle in the New Apostolic Reformation movement – based where? Yep! Colorado Springs, CO. These are not coincidental, trust me.
