Bill O’Reilly Humiliates Sarah Palin on Fox News
Sarah Palin made another rash appearance on Bill O’Reilly’s The Factor Friday night, wherein he grilled her about immigration reform. The half-term governor left the FNC program angry and humiliated as O’Reilly exposed Palin’s limited knowledge for the Fox crowd to see.
Palin Struggles to Answer O'Reilly
Word on the street is that if the Republicans don’t want Sarah Palin to run for President, they’re going to let Fox News and Conservative papers go after her. Uh hum. I’m assuming if they were going to let the fur fly, they’d do it on the on the No. 1 cable news show at 8 p.m. for 10 consecutive years . Uh huh. That guy doesn’t think much of herself anyway, so this is all coming together.
First, Bill-O primed the pump on June 8th by having a panel on to discuss Palin’s obvious campaign ad, “Mama Grizzlies”:
CARLSON: But I believe this is a precursor to her running for president.
…..
O’REILLY: It’s a powerful voting block if she can do it.
HOOVER: Here’s the thing. You mentioned independents. The problem is that independents broke against Sarah Palin in the 2008 election.
O’REILLY: Right.
HOOVER: She was a very polarizing figure. Most people know already how they feel about Sarah Palin. So I think this is going to galvanize her supporters. I don’t know if it will win over new people.
CARLSON: A lot of independents thought they loved Barack Obama, too, and guess where they are now.
O’REILLY: I don’t know if they will rally around Sarah Palin. Nobody would know unless they take a poll, which would be an interesting thing for us to do.
Uh huh. So, he establishes that she wants to run and that he should do a poll. Knowing how fair and balanced they are over there, he has to lead his viewers to the right conclusion. So…..
Cut to Friday night, June 9, I give you Bill O’Reilly, grilling the half-term governor on a segment he cynically called: “If Sarah Palin were President”. I can assure you, this did not go well.
O’Reilly pressed Sarah on how she would solve the immigration problem, and she answered with, “whatever it takes.” This did not amuse Bill-O who, gasp, actually wanted her to offer a policy solution, and that is where things got testy, because O’Reilly kept pushing , and Palin got angry, and revealed that her solution is to to provide steps for immigration reform, “at some point,” and “keep it simple.” Her answer was a non-answer with no specifics, and a whole lot of anger.
I just can’t transcribe this people, so you’re going to have to watch. I gave Palinese up for the Summer. At any rate, it isn’t all in the words. Bill-O assaults the half-term governor, leaving her bleeding on the floor like he does the rest of his guests. No special treatment here. Keep an ear out for Bill-O’s “this is where it gets complicated, governor” scolding. This is just cruel. They know she’s not up to these interviews. Where are her people???? He also tells her that he is afraid of her “Mama Grizzlies”. Sigh.
And after this, he has another “panel” on with Leslie Marshall and Dana Perino (please, God, make it stop) to discuss Palin’s failure to answer, her “lack of specifics”. They pretty much finished the half-termer off, after Perino got in her pro-Bush stuff and Marshall got lambasted for thinking that Obama wanted to secure our borders (I guess he doesn’t want to secure our borders….? And I guess O’Reilly doesn’t realize that Obama ordered 1200 National Guard reserves to the border in addition tothousands to the Gulf, however they are sitting idle as Bobby Jindal (R-LA) et al wait to formulate a plan?).
Ouch, ouch, ouch.
If you were the Republican Party, and you knew that Sarah Palin’s approval ratings were in Joe the Plumber’s toilet, would you want her to steal the Primary with her Merry Band of Tea Partiers? Uh huh. I thought not.

Watching her flounder like this is hilarious. One minute Ronald Reagan is a political hero — the next minute he’s a miserable failure for not accomplishing immigration reform. If she lets O’Reilly throw her off her BS, what is she going to do with Stephen Colbert or a BBC reporter?
She’s so 20th century in thought and execution. I know her fans love her for being such a throwback.

She is like the dead fish that flows down the river and spreads her stink. God knows better than to put a liar like her in charge of anything. Look how she left her follow towns people in debt. No thanks. We certainly don’t need her at the national level.

Why does she never say how she isnt any more free than she was 3 years ago? What is Obama doing to the kids of the future? Giving them healthcare? OMG not HEALTHCARE!
She sure never complained when Bush spent a trillion overseas.
Speaking of which I thought the pre-existing conditions were lifted. They havent been.
I want her to run so bad. The dems could run a pet rock and win.

She should get “more specific?” You mean, she should get some kind of management plan to speak to about American issues if she’s going to keep doing this.
Troops? What troops? We don’t have any right now, yep yep, fresh out…
Sarah, that was a ‘gotcha’ moment when O’Reilly threw that troop number out. And stunningly, America’s going to let you get away with that! The media, politicians, informed citizens who actually have some knowledge base. Sarah, sweetie. There ain’t no 10,000 to 20,000 troops to send to Arizona. And what would happen if there were? My goodness, imagine, that would be like 4 times more people than live in Wasilla!
Darling. This isn’t Dillingham. This isn’t the cannery. People actually know a few things and American doesn’t give a damn what family you married.

I am 100% sincere when I say a rock would be a better president than her, at least with the rock you can get all the rock’s advisers to handle everything, when you have palin she will have the chance to fuck it up.

it’s funny to see them start to turn on Palin… it’s really such hogwash. Fox decides whether their audience are going to like someone or not… now they’ve decided that Palin can’t win a general election so they’re trying to kill her off. It’ll be interesting to see if their audience turns on her so easily…

I’m not Palin fan, but I don’t see where “humiliate” even enters the picture here. She wasn’t great, but she more or less held her own (which I personally think is unfortunate). I think the author is letting his personal biases get the best of him here.
Robert
Jul. 12th, 2010 at 10:26 am
It’s not the “blood splattered on the screen” event some people
have implied, but she really did show off her stupidity in this,
not that her adoring fans will be able to comprehend that. Let me
give you one little example of a blatant attack Palin and her fans
won’t get. Bill asked about the illegals, will you give them
amnesty, she said no. It then became registration and green cards
for those that voluntarily register, and deportation for those that
don’t. Bill then burned her for that. (Letting them register and
get green cards IS amnesty for an illegal immigrant.) The whole
time palin just smiled away confident that she’d wormed out of his
tricky little questions, not even realizing she’s been burned.

Great article. You just can’t make this stuff up. Nobody would buy that there is a political figure so grossly uninformed (I won’t say misinformed) as Sarah Palin. Can’t her people make notes for her at least? How is it possible that there is a person out there who knows absolutely nothing about anything?
AKChurch
Jul. 13th, 2010 at 10:29 pm
I think her “people” WERE trying to give her notes to try to save
her, you could see her try to stall with her barrage of nonwords
while she tried to figure out what the heck the cue cards they were
holding up for her were supposed to mean. Ever wonder why it’s
always just her in front of that beautiful lake scene? It’s so no
one can see her handlers sitting in front of her madly trying to
come up with answers for her. I can just imagine one saying
“Reagan” and she launches into how he is a political hero but when
O’Reilly schools her on the fact that he failed, she said “Of
course, we learn from the failures” …of the political hero? If
the people of America cannot tell this woman is faking it just as
hard as she can they are out of their minds. You can see the anger
and hate in her eyes when she feels like she is going to be
anything but adored in any interview. ” How dare O’Reilly ask me
hard “gotcha” questions!” She is such a joke and represents how far
America has fallen that someone like her is even taken remotely
seriously.
Anne
Jul. 11th, 2010 at 8:01 am
Palin’s being so uninformed is nothing new. In fact, she has consistently earned the image of being ignorant since she came on the national scene in 2008. What IS new is that a fellow conservative made her look bad on FOX News. From her first policy speeches about FNMA and GNMA and fruit fly research in 08, where she made such glaring errors, to this idiocy about grizzly mamas and pink elephants, she has made more gaffes than any other public figure.
There was no “bias” involved when Palin made a fool of herself in front of Katie Couric, Charlie Gibbs, and Bill O’Reilly. She is used to going to only Palin-friendly media events, where they don’t care about her being unprepared. In fact, I understand that her refusal to be prepared was a sore point with McCain campaign members. She apparently has this goofy idea in her head that being ignorant makes her “authentic.” It is truly a sad commentary that a 40-plus woman does not have enough self-awareness to see that her willful ignorance is an embarrassment to women. The irony is that her latest stupidity was made for the purpose of winning women over.

How sad that people in her home town are scared to death of her. Now if they were smart they get together and unite and push the bully out of the way and call her on her lies. What are they afraid of? I mean these people are supposed to be ruff and ready to take anything on. Why are they afraid of Palin? No need she only has the power you give her. Stick together. Heck at least I give Levi’s sister and mother their due. The truth will set them free.

Jul. 11th, 2010 at 10:47 am
Bill O’Reilly has used the same bully pulpit tactic he uses on everyone. He does this to trip up who he is interviewing to make the audience believe he’s in control. Its an ego trip for him. He was just rude to Palin to undercut her instead of allowing her to give a full response. I don’t thing Palin will go near O’Reilly again, well at least I hope she’s learned her lesson. What would you expect from a male chauvinist pig.
Anne
Jul. 11th, 2010 at 12:43 pm
He may be a male chauvinist, but Palin should have been smart enough to know what to expect from him after the first time. The fact that I don’t like O’Reilly myself, or that he has been said to be a misogynist, does nothing to alter the fact that Palin is ignorant and ill-informed. In fact, she should be subjected to more of these types of interviews. She has had nearly 2 years to improve her image by studying, researching, and generally brushing up in the areas where she fell short in 2008. She has no one but herself to blame for her intellectual curiosity, her willful ignorance, and her status as merely a spiteful critic of Obama with no solutions of her own. Someone who wants to be president, or at least a serious powerbroker, does not deserve to be cut any slack for continuing to be so ill-prepared and ignorant.

Isn’t funny that these people will defend Palin at all costs. She probably believes her son Track went into the military for patriotic reasons instead of being forced to join because he got in trouble doing not so nice stuff back home. It was so back they had to call school off. What wonderful family values those Palins have. A family that cheats, steals and lie together stays together. Now that is some republican family value platform. Sad to say though she thinks she will win but I have a strong feeling the other republicans are holding back on all the nasty stuff about her will come out. Especially about Trigg. We are waiting.
Carl
Jul. 11th, 2010 at 3:07 pm
You see, she is one who doesn’t know that she doesn’t know! That is the definition of true ignorance! She’s an embarrassment to herself, and she doesn’t know it. The fact is that Oreilly asked a fair question, and she had NO answer – and thus, the response she gave was to demonstrate her ignorance. Sad!

Hey 25thcenturygirl, Obama DOES NOT want to secure out border actually. He said he’s leaving the border open in hopes that’ll it’ll cause enough instability that the people will be for immigration reform. He said this in a private meeting with Senator Kly.
25thcenturygirl
Jul. 11th, 2010 at 11:55 am
And your point is?
Even John McCain had to switch his approach on immigration reform because reasonable lucid solutions to complex problems is considered anathema
to certain Americans.
Also do you have a link confirming this private meeting statement? It would be helpful.
Finally, the POTUS not wanting to secure the border as a strategy to propose meaningful reform doesn’t change the fact that Palin still did a lousy job telling potential voters what she would do to solve the problem. ‘Whatever it takes’ doesn’t get the job done.
Sarah Jones
Jul. 11th, 2010 at 2:47 pm
And actually, this is nonsense. Obama sent troops. The clown Republican governors like Jindal can’t figure out how to deploy them in the Gulf– they are just sitting there. Maybe he should pass them on down to his friends who need them. We have a limited supply of reserves, as they are off fighting two wars we never should have entered.
Remember, that is THEIR job, as Palin claimed during 2008 was her bit foreign policy and leadership cred? Telling the National Guard what to do? Yes.
25thcenturygirl
Jul. 11th, 2010 at 12:11 pm
And that strategy is still better than Palin’s.

Dear Robert you sir are a moron of the first order. The meeting that Sen. Kyl (please note the correct spelling) was talking about Sen. Kyl walked back the next week “Last week, Arizona Sen. Jon Kyl revealed in a town hall meeting that President Obama was holding border security “hostage” in exchange for immigration reform. Almost immediately, video of the revelation went viral as political insiders speculated about the president’s intentions to crack down on illegal immigration.
Now however, it seems that is not entirely what Kyl meant. In a weekend interview with the National Review, Kyl said that his comments were “taken a bit out of context.” According to Kyl, the “they” he referred to was the left, or the “president’s base.”
“I did not try to start a fight,” said Kyl.

And while he tried to walk back his walk back after a meeting with Sen. McChicken opps I mean McCain.

Palin on O’Reilly on immigration reform.
Sarah Jones, Author says: “…for thinking that Obama wanted to secure our borders (I guess he doesn’t want to secure our borders….? And I guess O’Reilly doesn’t realize that Obama sent thousands of National Guard reserves, however they are sitting idle as Bobby Jindal (R-LA) et al wait to formulate a plan?).”
Of course, the State of Louisiana does not share a border with Mexico. The Nat’l reserves are there in LA to help keep the crude oil from washing ashore. But, Ms. Jones, perhaps you were temporally flustered or confused – since the issue here is not IRRIGATION control (of the liquid coming ashore) but of IMMIGRATION control (of the Mexican citizens illegally coming into the USA ahead of those on the “waiting list” to enter legally.
Sarah Jones
Jul. 11th, 2010 at 2:49 pm
Nope, I’m not temporarily confused. This is an issue about the amount of reserves available and whether or not the President supplied them to the states. He did. Oh, I get it. You don’t realize that he ordered 1200 troops there. Well, if they want MORE, the issue is that we DON’T have them (between the two wars Bush started and the Gulf Oil spill which was a direct result of Bush Cheney deregulations, our reservists are all tied up right now cleaning up after those clowns and it’s OUTRAGEOUS for Republicans to be pointing the fingers about not enough troops when you take this into account), which was the point of my link. Maybe you watch Fox News, so you aren’t aware of this but the President has been accused of focusing border security rather than immigration reform, which kind of kills that talking point.
If Republicans are really so concerned about the country, why are they letting these reservists SIT there? Why not employ them or say, gee, I know my friends in border states need them so and we don’t…Instead, they prove once again that they are bad at governing by doing NOTHING and then Fox spins it to sound as if the President is doing nothing. The Governors decide how to employ them. If Jindal doesn’t need them, send them on to a state who does.
Neatly done, but it’s still sabatoge of our country.

Why do people not see the real picture when watching these t.v. interviews. To begin with I think O’Reilly is the most arrogant person I have ever known. He will ask a person a question then he want let them answer it, just like he did sarah palin on immigration. I think he thinks he is some kind of god. He thinks he knows all the answers. He wouldn’t let her finish answering any question he ask her. He ask her how she would secure the border, then he gave two answers then he said we are thru with this, she shook her head as to say no we aren’t. She had something else to add. But he stopped her. He quickly said, yes we are. What are we going to do with the ones who are already here. with the short time he give her she said, she thought the one’s who are already leaglly here should get jobs before we leaglized any one who is already here that aren’t legal. This makes good sense. He wouldn’t give her time to explain antmore, yet brought two guest on to see how she did. Of course they answered as he did, she wasn’t specific enough. He didn’t give her time to do anything. Today we have all the blogs about her. Sarah why do you go on O’Reilly. Please don’t give him any more of your valuable time. her up with leading questions, eliciting from her what she thought
she was supposed to say… and then ambush. I feel guilty for
watching. It’s a little like tenticle porn, but without the
redeeming artistic value. Of course, it IS a useful illustration as
to what happens to women that no longer fit into the Republican
Narrative. Telling that they PICKED a woman who could never have
made it TO the glass ceiling without the “help” of such people like

He is arrogant and a lot of other things, but it doesn’t mitigate Palin’s rank stupidity. We have been subjected to a non-stop blitz of her blunders, her malicious lies, and misstatements for nearly 2 years. Unfortunately for her, but fortunately for people who don’t intend to vote for her if she runs, she is not too swift if she hasn’t learned by now that the best defense is to be prepared, even for so-called gotcha questions.
It’s comical that anyone who thinks this woman who doesn’t have the guts to go on skeptical or hostile media to make her case is “strong.” Her tough, gun-totin, grizzly mama image is just that–a manufactured image. It’s absolutely preposterous for anyone to call her strong after she acts as if she’s a helpless damsel in distress.
She brought this second embarrassment on herself when she was unprepared once again. It’s all the result of her endless ignorance and narcissism. These traits won’t allow her to see what she doesn’t know and either correct her limitations or work within them in a more suitable “career.” I’m quite sure she will use this as fodder for her victim act, which got old a long time ago. As one poster has noted, what will she do if she runs for president and has to face much tougher questions, not to mention all she would face as president?

The sad and scary part of this post is that many Americans actually
believe whatever Sarah Palin says. I’m certainly not an O’Reilly
fan, but I’m thankful that there’s someone over at Fox news who is
willing to expose some sense of truth for whatever the reason.
Sarah is not used to being challenged on any real level so her base
has supported her as a media celebrity who can throw a few one
liners, stretch bend, or make up the truth; and knowledge is just
not a requirement for leadership. I would like to see the day that
main stream media stops turning her one liner Facebook and Twitter
comments, attacks and fabrications into relevant press conferences
to the world. The “Momma Grislie” concept is ridiculous when Sarah
Palin is afraid to appear on other news shows or other avenues that
could ask her valid questions and expect real responses. Grislies
are not afraid! Sarah Palin has a very cowardly approach to
leadership. She hides her fear behind her 2nd amendment rights and
the ignorance and bigotry of her followers. And when she can’t get
her way, she’s a quitter and an opportunist! And as much as I
defend women’s rights, I find that Sarah Palin hurts the cause of
genuine, hard working, smart, honest and family oriented women
everywhere.

LIke Orielly or not what makes him good is he doesnt waste time and
he asks specific questions. when he interviewed Palin about the oil
spill he complimented her about having so much expereience
concerning the oil industry as a govenor and acknowledged her
expereience in negotiating with oil companies, but quickly
questioned her specifically about “Her Solution” and not just an
oft repeated stump line. In his interview with sarah about
immigration he acknowledged and conceded that she would secure the
border. He expressed his opinion that the people believed that she
would secure the border as president (The palin supporters are so
defensive they missed the compliment). Since this is assumed
knowedge then why give the politican more free air time to do a
self promotional piece on themself. As a viewer I want more
information not rehased sales pitches. He quickly got to a specific
question. She obviously was uncomfrotable answering. I am a Romney
supporter but I have seen him drill Romney the same way. Bill wants
more information not feel good larry king oprah mushy interviews.
Orielly sometimes is a little quick to jump in, but I think it is
an honest attempt to get more than merely a book promotional type
interview.

gotten everything. She’s very good at BSing too I must say. But
even BSing catches up with you. Just like lying does. Watch and
revel!

Sarah Palin – leader of the great unwashed racist inbred
population. Amazing how anyone can actually pay attention to such
an airhead. No wonder the south and midwest are the laughing stocks
of not just the US but the entire world.

Lol. Did anyone notice that after he got through ripping apart her
potential presidency, he immediately said, “Whoever the next
president is, HE will…” Burn, Sarah P. Burn. I was actually
embarassed for her.

If you learned to read, you might have noticed that the point was
that we have limited guardsmen. If you’re so smart, why don’t you
come up with a solution? Where are you going to get the extra
guardsmen? Maybe you might ask Jindal for the guardsmen he has just
sitting around not working on the Gulf Oil Spill like they’re
supposed to be. And anyway, the point isn’t what Obama did or
didn’t do, the point is Palin has no answers because she can’t
govern. She is a quitting back seat driver hell bent on ruining
this country.

I was not surprised to see how bad Sarah Palin botched this
interview. I guess she doesn’t have any “handlers”. Considering the
amount of public comment she spews you would think that she would
“inform” herself somehow. We saw the same thing when she was
running with McCain. You would think she would learn, but someone
that is as hard-headed and stubborn as she is…well, we see and
hear the results. She is going to end up with a lousy reputation.
Does her family see and hear what she is saying? Why don’t they
inform her? I hope they don’t perpetuate what she says and does for
her benefit. Then again, maybe they know and are just riding the
money train too. She does have a BIG family. I find it funny how a
LOT of Independent and Republican political opponents attack
President Obamas policies and administration focus. Yet, they don’t
appear to have any real legitimate answers to the problems we face
as a country. You can spout off anything you want, but we have a
democracy that you have to work within the confines of. If you
can’t work with those that are in the current government nothing
will get accomplished. That would probably explain the slow and
painful process and legislative panacea we see coming out of
Washington. We are a VERY large country but, this is ridiculous.
The problems we are facing effect everyone. The States need to
realize that they can’t go it alone. Unfortunately, our current
political system is what we have to deal with today. I do think
that we should have term-limits for the House and Senate, just as
we do for the President and Vice-President. That should also apply
to the judicial system as well. That would bring new blood and
ideas to address the wants and needs of our country. Then, the only
problem would be the support structure (personnel) behind the
scenes. I don’t think that is fixable anytime soon. The Military
Industrial Complex just doesn’t work for our country today. It’s
much more complicated than that. We need to realize that we are in
a Global evolution now. We need to think more on a global level
from the Federal perspective and more of a National level from the
States perspective. That is to say, the Federal government needs to
think more about the results of legislation from a global
perspective than just a national one. The states need to think more
about the results of legislation from a national perspective than
just the state and local level.

The “Momma Grislie” concept is ridiculous when Sarah
Palin is afraid to appear on other news shows or other avenues that
could ask her valid questions and expect real responses. Grislies
are not afraid! Sarah Palin has a very cowardly approach to
leadership.

“Governor Palin”…?
She ‘resigned her office’. This means she is NO LONGER a “Governor”, sitting or otherwise. Had she completed her term, this wouldn’t be an issue.
That said, I enjoyed seeing her squirm. She is the candidate I hope the GOP gathers around with her Tea Bagger Fans. It would be the easiest victory Democrats could imagine.
She’s beyond worthless…far worse than an empty suit. She’s a loud voice with exactly ZERO substance.

So, a strong woman is reviled…while Bill O’Riley (Mr. Talk dirty to me baby and I’ll let you keep your job) gets a free ride. Go Sarah…people have forgotten what common sense is, they need to be reminded.

I don’t agree that Bill O humiliated Palin or made her look bad. You created this story based on nothing.

Bill didn’t humiliate her. Sarah’s shown us time and time again that the one thing she is capable of…. is humiliating herself. Why are we forced to choose between policy and competency? Give us BOTH !!

And I don’t believe for a minute that she actually suggested converting the FEMA trailers into taco stands, stringing them along the border, and using them as traps… I mean, that’s just twisted !

I read all the comments before watching the interview. As a Palin fan who realizes she has stumbled in the past, I was prepared to see her obliterated in this interview. She wasn’t. You could see in the interview she had a few things to say, but allowed herself to be cut off. It wasn’t misogynist on O’Reilly’s part. O’Reilly is a tough interviewer who pushes until he gets intelligent answers. Palin needs to learn how to be more assertive and communicate the messages she has to communicate.

I thought it was funny that she was just using the possible answers that Bill-O was offering her as her actual official answers. And when he didn’t offer her answers, she just flopped like a fish out of water.

Except she doesn’t have a plan. She plans to have other people come up with something. The woman has no experience, and show alot of signs of self intrest. I’m not saying Obama had more presidential experience either, but hes clear about where he stands and what he wants done. At least he has a basis for a plan. Sara likes to find issues and problems that people have and instigate it to get followers, while offering no real solutions on how she would go about solving those issues, or offering any strategies that would seem like it would solve the problem. I admit I have not followed all of her speeches, but everytime I do, I am disapointed and do not want to hear more. But the only reason I can come up with for people that actually follow Sara Palin is that they’re unhappy with certain things, and she likes to play on that and instigate it. I really hope she doesn’t get into any kind of official position anymore, and god forbid if she does become president she’ll realize how its not all up to her or in her control, and how big the tasks are, especially all at once. Obama hasn’t solved all the problems either, but people quickly forget that most of the problems were already there and already in critical condition when he started, and I don’t see how, in any sort of way Sara Palin will do anything that can help the situation. I forsee her wasting alot of time money and effort, and then the American people will realize what a huge mistake it was, if she is voted into office. I would love to be wrong and eat my own words the day she solves one of the major issues (healthcare, government spending, immigration, job creation).

I like Bill O’Reilly. He is one of the dashing and straight shooter and that’s why I switch my TV to Fox News at 8.00 p.m. The way this Sarah Palin answers , any one can make out how “Empty and Crazy” she is and imagine she is going to run Washington , D.C.
