I don’t believe even the most accomplished teacher could penetrate the obvious thick skull of a total moron such as “Conservative Heart” who still believes the current-day millionaires create good paying jobs for the shrinking middle class.

MINIMUM WAGE EPI.ORG
Increase Massachusetts $8 to $10 gives pay increase to 581,000 workers and creates jobs. Since 1973 productivity up 100%. Corporate profits at all time high. Minimum wage, in real dollars, up just 1%.

EPI.ORG– 2001-2011 multi-nationals sent 2,700,000 of our jobs to just China.
The gutting of our Middle Class jobs for bigger profits. No bargain for consumers.

That would be great, but you also forget why the Civil War was also fought.

To wit, cash crops. Ending slavery and miscegenation was a nice cover, but without cotton, tobacco, wheat, and maize/corn, the North couldn’t have had the Industrial Revolution while dealing with the tariff structures that would have popped up in the meantime.

“Reconstruction” would have been a complete nightmare, and most of the northern industrialization would have not existed without carpet-baggers and scalawags; capitalists, opportunists if you will, but relatively agnostic-centrists.

And that’s what we’re facing now. To cut off the “heartland” means you have to have an immediate source of raw export materials to bolster the economy. Our tech- and medical-sector intellectual property has been exported (much in the name of diversity, while well-intentioned)… so you have to molly-coddle the rootstock, even if misguided. A complete severance would kill all 50 federated states.

Maybe it’s time to let the Tea Party states secede and form their own country. They could call their new country The United States of Idiocracy. They wouldn’t last very long with no taxes, no education, no federal government, and no improvements in their infrastructure. Let them wallow in their own hatred and ignorance and Talibangelical religious ideals. We can’t change willfully stupid and gullible people into good citizens, so good riddance to all of them in their new country, the USI.
