Very strategic move by PBO, imo. The rule stands, and the Catholic leaders and the GOP have essentially been told to sit down and STFU. From this moment going forward, I’m considering any other opposition on this issue to have the sole purpose of attacking women’s right to make decisions about their own bodies.

It was sooo exquisite..He let them put themselves in the rabid rigid dogma over Womens’ Rights box on tape and then showed he was there to do the JOB elected to do for the People…Compromise but get WOMEN COVERED!

Extremely smart move, Mr. President! You’ve managed to draw out all the GOP candidates for being hostile to women’s reproductive rights, and you’ve crafted a perfect way out for the phony outrage of the religious institutions who want to take our taxpayer money, but then do as they please and oppress women as much as they can.

It’s interesting that the Catholic Church is so righteous about contraception for the female but hide scores of molestation practices by the priesthood from criminal prosecution and public knowledge. That could be seen as hypocritical. So they avoid law enforcement on one hand and demand their rights on another hand. I’m not at all against the Catholic religion and I am a Christian, I’m just tired of the attack on women by the GOP across the country and these various groups. They’re not looking out for women and the children and they’re not offering any solutions. Who would have thought in the 21st century that these culture wars would be the primary distractions of the country with all the real issues taking place that are effecting our very livelihoods? Thanks for this post. And thanks to our dear President for continuing to look out for us no matter what. Reelect President Obama and get these extremists out of our government and personal lives.

what’s even more interesting is the fact that 28 states have laws the state if you are a healthcare provider you must provide birth control. Even the great bastion of hate, the state of Georgia legally mandates that any healthcare provider must provide contraception drugs and devices as required

As the saying goes, if alter boys could get pregnant, the Catholic Church would be all for birth control.
And, with that said, the state of Wisconsin has sealed documents filed by the Archdiocese of Milwaukee bankruptcy that have identified at least 8,000 instances of child sex abuse and 100 alleged offenders–75 of them priests–who have not been previously named.
If this is multiplied by how many diocese across state lines (as in they move their pedophiles around), then the RICO law should be enacted.

I think Obama has taken on this fight to show everyone what the “extreme Christian” agenda really is, to end contraception as we know it. The right wing is still not happy with this solution, because women still have access to birth control. Someone needs to ask the recently converted Catholic, Newt Gingrich, if he was using contraception while he was banging all those women that were not his wife. Was he really taking the chance of an unwanted pregnancy that would ruin his “credibility” while he was trying to impeach Clinton? Remember, Santorum believes sex is only for procreation, so I guess he won’t be getting any now that his wife is too old to have babies. These people hate women an women’s sexuality. Smaller government fits best in the uterus.

however, brother speaker Boehner has made it very clear that this compromise will not fly. He will not let its stand. He was on TV just a little bit ago saying that this is not going to happen. And I really don’t know what the basis is that he is going to fight this with. I am sure that he is going to slap it into some will Re: taxes or unemployment.
The entire religious world stands against him now and set up with him and he doesn’t know when to quit. And I’ll bet you five dollars that the candidates are going to make huge fools of themselves this. And I still want to know why the Catholic Church was not upset about the 28 states that already have this law in place. Not once did they mutter even a squeak.
Obama might’ve lost the Catholics for it an hour or so that he certainly has them back now. And was speaker Boehner going to make a fool of himself it wont be hard to see through

Of course No-bama is declaring war on religion. Being a Muslim, a socialist and a Kenyan, he is clearly anti-religion.
And as a Constitutional scholar, No-bama is blatantly violating the the Establishment Clause in the First Amendment. This guy simply does not understand the Constitution.

they should have to provide birth control if they are going to offer insurance, plain and simple. If the employee chooses to take birth control that is none of the churches fucking business. what the hell do Catholics care anyway, confess your “sins” and you are forgiven anyway, so what difference does it make. What the Bible says about life:
“After God formed man in Genesis 2:7, He “breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and it was then that the man became a living being”. Although the man was fully formed by God in all respects, he was not a living being until after taking his first breath.
In Job 33:4, it states: “The spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life.”
Again, to quote Ezekiel 37:5&6, “Thus says the Lord God to these bones: Behold, I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live. And I will lay sinews upon you, and will cause flesh to come upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and you shall live; and you shall know that I am the Lord.”
In Exodus 21:22 it states that if a man causes a woman to have a miscarriage, he shall be fined; however, if the woman dies then he will be put to death. It should be apparent from this that the aborted fetus is not considered a living human being since the resulting punishment for the abortion is nothing more than a fine; it is not classified by the bible as a capital offense.”

So, basically, the bible borrowed the concept of “prana” from every Eastern religions’ mythology known to humankind (the concept of “prana, apana, shuhmana, hari”). And, those who re-wrote bible (after Christ) used the common word (breathe) to describe the concept for the mouth-breathers…of course. Thanks for the research!

Obama is forcing all insurers to carry and pay for abortion-causing-drugs and sterilization with no opt outs, and for all insurance companies to be forced to carry and cover these services at absolutely no co-pay: meaning we all pay for the abortions, sterilizations not just contraceptives.
Obama’s ruling violates the U.S. Constitution by violating 1) freedom of religion, 2) freedom to do business free from intrusive government, and 3) freedom of conscience for all who think abortion is murder and do not want to pay for abortion drugs or sterilization.

BTW, none of the 3 items you mentioned were blocked. The church was not required to give out the drugs themselves. In fact this was already law in 28 states and the “church” never said a word until Obama did something. Catholic educational facilities and universities have been doing it since 2000
Also sterilization, abortions are not part of the deal. you lie. In fact you have no idea what this whole thing is about judging by what you wrote.

Women have the right to choose whether or not they have children. If ‘God’ gave us free will, we get to exercise that. A man does not have to carry the child, a woman does. Birth is the closest that a woman will ever come to death doors before the inevitable end of her life. Thank you Obama, for making things a little less sexist.

I know the Party of No was salivating at what they thought was a gift from the president. The way he pulled the rug from under these silly fools was masterful. LOL, you have no understanding of the constitution at all. You may have the right to free speech but that doesn’t mean it will appear on others property. You do not have the right to put up a billboard with your thoughts on it on someone elses property do you? Same on the internet, in daily life. You may now feel free to look up free speech and discover what it means. And its funny if someone doesn’t agree with you, you call it censorship! Thats hilarious!

BTW, the constitution does not give you free speech. No where does it say you gave it. The constitution says Congress will make no laws stopping it.

To answer that I would ask why the catholic church has been obeying this very law in 28 states and never saying a word? The church tried a set up for Obama and it failed.
As the mandate never provided for the church itself to have to give out birth control I think it stands a very well.
