4 More Years: Obama Triumphs Over Romney Lies and Republican Hate
By: Jason EasleyNov. 6th, 2012more from Jason Easley
Racism, lies, and four years of endless obstruction were not enough to stop Barack Obama from winning a second term.
With the news that President Obama won the state of Ohio, the Republican dreams of turning him into a one term president went up in smoke. In the end, it turned out that the Obama campaign had this election nailed the whole time. Everything Mitt Romney predicted would occur on election day never came close to occurring.
The Obama campaign has been saying for weeks that they had the math on their side, and they turned out to be 100% correct. Everything the Obama campaign said would happen turned out to be true. The Obama campaign thought that they would win Ohio. They thought they would win Iowa. They tried to tell the media that Romney’s momentum was a myth. The electoral map is looking exactly the way the Obama campaign said it would. Romney predicted turnout would look like 2010, but it turned out looking like 2008.
President Obama overcame racism, hate, and lies. He defeated a Republican obsession with turning him into a one term president. He was victorious over a Republican House that obstructed everything he did. In the end the Republicans bet on keeping America angry at Obama, and they lost big.
The right will turn the result of this election into a dissection of Mitt Romney, but in reality, this election was decided by Obama’s strengths. As a second term president presiding over an economic recovery, Obama should now get the credit that he so richly deserves.
It wasn’t Barack Obama who won. Our country won. The politics of big money and cynicism were roundly defeated tonight. America rejected the corporate billionaires and their Citizens United dollars. They rejected Fox News narratives, birtherism, and the tea party.
America believes in Barack Obama, because he believes in us.

Now that they’ve failed to make Obama a one-term President, McConnell, Boehner, and Cantor need to shut their big mouths and actually do something to serve the people for a change.

Now hopefully the Republicans will understand that the country wants Obama’s policies.

Most of the country does not want him in. That is why we left a Rebulican Congress. He has to be the worst pres since Carter. No business plan, no business sence. Keep enjoying him as you pay $5 gal for gas and $6 for a loaf of bread. Keep your low paying job as most of the folks in high paying jobs will not retire as they can not afford too.
I have not had a raise in 4 years now I can count on another 4 of loosing ground.

The President doesn’t have any control over gas prices, and I live in Chicago, land of high prices, and I don’t pay anywhere near $6 for a loaf of bread. Hyperbole much?

I guess you never heard of the obstruction from the Republican Congress?

Funny that you think President Obama is to blame… yet you’re asking for the very thing that the Republicans and the Tea Party are trying to eliminate:
REGULATION
Don’t like high prices? Then why the hell do you keep insisting on “capitalism”??? You’re paying what the market will bear, aren’t you? If you want your unfettered capitalism, then shut your damned mouth and pay the price the corporations demand!
Don’t like it that you’ve not have a raise? Well, the Republicans have already given a clear answer to that one – QUIT. Yeah, that’s a part of their version of capitalism too.
It goes right on down the line. Don’t like the cost of medical care and the greed of the insurance companies? Don’t blame the Democrats, who have tried to reestablish the regulation that kept corporate greed under a little control.
Blame those who want them to have no limits to their greed and rapacious theft – the REPUBLICANS.

Romney received the popular vote and most of the US. Four more years of higher taxes, less jobs, low pay and more food stamps. A sad day for America, becoming more like europe every day. They are broke and going down hard. We owe our lives to China as they buy more and more US properties and businesses.

No Romney did not get the popular vote. The number still out are California. Obama will win that vote by at least 1.5%
You right now pay the lowest taxes that Americans have paid in the modern era. Obama has dropped your taxes. Obama doesnt set the pay.
As for jobs, look to the bankls you support. And then be thankful that Romney isnt here to add 2 trillion to the military and start a war. That WOULD crank your taxes up.
Get off Fox News, you are lacking in knowlewdge
Obama didnt invent borrowing from China. they owned us thanks to the 2 wars that Bush borrowed money for.
But look on the bright side. Americans still own more of our debt than China does

Not worth it Shiva – he just came on here to vent. He’s not gonna listen to anything not rubber-stamped by FOX. Amazing how many people are willing to simply wallow in ignorance forever, rather than think, “Hmmmmm, how can it be? THAT many people have the exact opposite views as me????”

Oh, and monster shocker here, Don, don’t know if it will hold, but OBAMA now has the lead in the popular vote, PLUS he has now won Virginia. You were saying?

You are right on about everything except when the retros increae taxes when going to war. Gee Willakers Bush sent us off to fight in two wars and didn’t make arrangements to pay for either one of them. Robme would no doubt have gone to war with Iran and neglected to fund it. Our national debt reflects the unfunded wars that Gee Willakers Bush started.

Higher taxes????
Fact check much??
Higher taxes for corporations who have ONLY been on a temporary tax reduction for their group to begin with.
Their taxes are not being raised; their temporary tax benefit is simply NOT going to remain any longer past it’s “use by date.”
Do you even wonder WHY so many billionairs “bought and paid for” (through the damn nose !) Romney’s campaign?
Romney is Edelson’s whore and Edelson didn’t even get a BJ out of.
Some very rich men are really pissed they did not get what they thought they could buy.

Try to understand what just happened here, Dan. Get yourself a copy of a book called “When Prophecy Fails” written in 1956 (an era that you can relate) by Leon Festinger.
The book chronicles the followers of a UFO cult as reality clashed with their fervent belief in an impending apocalypse…spoiler alert, the space ship fails to deliver on day the leader says.
It’s all about what happens to the followers the DAY AFTER; their disbelief/denial that their leader was wrong and proven wrong is profound.
…which is sort of what is going to happen to people like yourself, the followers of the Fox News Cult, who do not understand how they’ve been conned into voting against their own interest.
Betrayal of the innocent by a con is an ugly thing, Dan.

Refer to my previous reply to you. You support the very ones who are and have harmed you.
Or are you REALLY SO DAMNED STUPID that you think that reducing regulation and taxes on the rich (which are already not paying near their fair share) and raising taxes (through fees and penalties and so on) while cutting services that ordinary people need will get you a job (or a better job with better pay) and reduce your expenses?
Take this bit of advice – don’t buy any bridges, gold bricks, or perpetual motion machines!

What happened????
The Tea Party decided to mess with Black people through intimidation/harassment. What became a move to stifle votes became a Civil Rights Movement to speak at the polls.

I think a lot of minority people woke to the fact that they were in real, dire danger… not just African Americans, but all minorities, including women. Based on numbers, I would say that women had the most influence (and we DID nearly loose), followed by African Americans, and then down the line.
The good news is that we all (or most of us) got out and voted.
In fact, it bothers me when only one group is singled out as “The most persecuted” or “The most in danger from the Republicans”. They’re a package deal, once you get to know the ideology behind them. We all were in danger… but minorities more than white males (the only ones not in danger would have been straight white male preachers and straight white male 1%ers).

I personally am thrilled for myself, my daughter and yes this country. I think Obama needs to complete the plan he set in motion 4 years ago. And all the naysayers need to realize you cannot repair the type of damage that was done overnight. He’s not a god damn magician. And it’s especially hard when people are determined to be combative at every corner just to make you look bad for the future election-instead putting their agendas before jobs and the economy. History will recognize Obama as the great man AND President he is.

I am excited! I could not imagine working for a untruthful person. This also is a game changer for Republicans, Democrats and Racist. I want more possibilities in choosing a party. Republicans have to do way more to reach out to the minorities with integrity. On the other hand, Democrats has to do more to close the appeal gap in the red states. Finally, we need a third party – we can call it the Middle Wing!.
All we need now is a qualified woman, hispanic and muslim president!… Then we can truly set the example in leading the world!

Third party would only split the vote.
Very very bad idea.
At best only a little more than one third of the people would be able to choose the President leaving a little less than twice that many people very unhappy.
Critical thinking skills would have show you this little glitch.

What needs to happen in this country is a “Truth in Reporting” law like in Canada.
The people under the thumbs of the Republicans are either brainwashed or clueless as to how crooked and evil they really are. If they saw the testimony of a computer programmer about being solicited by Florida Republicans to “fix” the voting machines so that Republicans win in tight races and so on… all of the lies and dirty tricks pulled by the Republicans (who are also masters of projection – they TRIED to claim Democrats did the same thing but that’s been shown to be false), they’d turn their backs on the Republicans in a second.
There have always been big differences in opinion on how to run this country, but as we’ve learned, it’s always the rich trying to wrest rights away from the rest of the people, and the people fighting back.

The Democrats used to be elected to the White House because of the Solid South. (They hated Lincoln>) They changed to red states because of the Warren Court and the passage of civil right laws.

Yo! Don, remember that October 3rd debate? Muhammed Ali won a lot of fights with the rope-a-dope back in the day. Romney lied and lied to the American people until he grew tired of lying. All the while Prez Obama didn’t lift a finger to counter his lying ass, thus, in the 2nd debate, Prez Obama made him pay dearly for his lies. Rope-a-dope style.
