Obama Explains Change to Romney with Three Words: Made in America
By: Sarah JonesNov. 2nd, 2012more from Sarah Jones
Mitt Romney is selling change along with that secret tax plan in the used car lot where trickle down lemons hide in shame. The President is having none of that. Today he told supporters that change is when everyone has a fair shot, “That’s the future I see for this entire country. Making stuff again. Selling it all around the world. Products stamped with three proud words: Made in America.”
Watch the President’s remarks from a rally in Springfield, Ohio today:
TRANSCRIPT OF PRESIDENT OBAMA’S REMARKS
I know what real change looks like, because I’ve fought for it. Right alongside you. And after all we’ve been through together, we sure can’t give up on now.
Let me tell you about the change we need over the next four years. Real change. Real change is a county where every American has a shot at a great education. You know, this school that we’re in is an example of a school that is making incredible reforms. The Race to the Top program that we put together – this is one of the winners of Race to the Top right here. So, we know how to raise standards and recruit great teachers and become more creative in the classroom. And our kids are going to succeed.
But you can’t tell me that more teachers won’t help grow our economy. Don’t tell me that students who can’t afford to go to college should just borrow more money from their parents. That wasn’t an option for me, probably wasn’t an option for a lot of you. That’s why I want to cut the growth of tuition in half over the next ten years. That’s why I want to recruit 100,000 math and science teachers so that our kids don’t fall behind the rest of the world. That’s why I want to train two million Americans at our community colleges with the skills that businesses are looking for right now. That’s what change is. That’s my plan for the future. That’s the America we’re fighting for in this election. Forward.
Change comes when we live up to this country’s legacy of innovation. The nice thing about the auto industry, we’re not just building cars again, we’re building better cars again, more advanced cars, better technology – cars that by the middle of the next decade will go twice as far on a gallon of gas. Today, there are workers that are building long-lasting batteries and wind turbines all across the country and right here in Ohio. These are jobs that didn’t exist four years ago. I don’t want a tax code that subsidizes oil company profits when oil companies are already making a lot of money; I want to support the clean energy jobs of tomorrow. I want to support the new technology that is gonna cut our oil imports in half by 2020. I don’t want a tax code that rewards companies for creating jobs overseas; I want to reward companies that are taking root right here in Springfield, Ohio. Right here in Lordstown and Toledo and Youngstown. I am confident about a renaissance, a resurgence of American manufacturing and that’s good for the entire economy. That’s the future I see for this entire country. Making stuff again. Selling it all around the world. Products stamped with three proud words: Made in America.
END TRANSCRIPT
Oh, POW right to the kisser. Made in America. Made in America. Mitt Romney is hiding in his Sensata bunker right about now. While Obama is delivering remarks about making things here in America, Matt Romney (Mitt’s son) is in Russia conducting business and sending secret notes to Putin assuring him that Mitt doesn’t mean the things he says on the campaign trail. USA! USA!
Seriously, this is the President in the final days leading up to the campaign. I’d like to remind everyone that this is the same guy who some call weak when he’s governing. Does he seem weak? No. Not unless you’re drinking Fox Koolaid. Let us remember that campaigning Obama is not governing Obama. He is smart enough to know the difference and so might we be.
If he is re-elected next week, we have a shot at actually making things here in America. If we fall to the low information voters, we can kiss Made in America goodbye.
Chicago adds, “Mitt Romney is pledging that he would bring “real change” if he’s elected, but we know all he would do is bring back the failed policies of the past that crashed the economy and punished the middle class in the first place. That’s the kind of change that the American people simply can’t afford. Americans know what real change looks like. That’s because they’ve fought for it alongside President Obama. America has come too far to turn back now, and as the President reminded voters in Springfield, Ohio earlier today, there’s still more work to do. That’s why President Obama is fighting for the change that gets folks back to work and strengthens the middle class by making smart investments in energy, education and training, growing small businesses, promoting technology and innovation, and reducing the deficit in a balanced, bipartisan way.”
Made in the USA. Take that, Mitt Caymans cash stashing, shipping jobs to China, not paying all your US taxes Romney.

Have you looked for the “Union Label” lately? All I ever see is Made in China. I’ve noticed those labels have price tags as high or higher than Made in USA. It’s not the people making them that are getting the money. Wonder what Trump gets for his new line of ties and shirts he has made in China and sells at Macy’s? MACY’S!

For many years the American steel industry suffered because of cheap steel being sold by foreign manufacturers. Finally, because of steep tariffs imposed on China by the us international trade commission they are making a stunning recovery and are expanding in Ohio (probably all over the us) during the Obama administration.
“We haven’t had this kind of expansion in steel since the 1980′s. It’s a tremendous turnaround” said Eric Burkland, the president of the Ohio Manufacturers Association, per an article in the New York Times Apr 24th, 2012. In October Ohio’s unemployment was 7.5 %. Now THAT’S change you can believe in.
romney would allow China to dump cheap, inferior steel on American markets again, because he invests in China’s companies to take advantage of the cheap labor force.
Vote for America. Vote for Obama. Let’s keep going FORWARD!

Something I find mystifying about Romney’s adoption of the word “Change” in his latest incarnation of the faux populist candidate is the disdain that many of his supporters have shown for Candidate Obama’s use of the same word in his campaign four years ago. Since then they’ve spent considerable time mocking him for it, but they haven’t said anything about Romney using the word as a focus of his campaign. For me, this highlights the propensity of some on the Right to ignore their own hypocrisy. PBO has done a lot to get the economy jump started while republicans have fought him every step of the way. The president is right: electing Romney would definitely mean a return to the policies that got us in this mess in the first place, and real change would be producing products stamped/labeled with the words “Made In America.” In the course of writing this comment, I was reminded of when the president wanted to make “Made In America” a feature of some of the stimulus spending, republicans in Congress went nuts and threatened to sue the federal government, so yeah, a President Romney would have no qualms at all about killing manufacturing jobs in this country.

What Willard is speaking of when he uses the word “change” is actually a reversion to the failed policies that got the United States into the mess that it’s taking a long time to climb out of. He obviously has an inflated sense of not only himself but also the kind of power he seems to think a president can exert single-handedly. As President Obama said at the convention, the change he promised is neither quick nor easy. Any rational, thinking adult knows better than to expect instant gratification when it comes to making long-term, beneficial changes that outlast a presidency.

What is it about obama that has this pied-piper effect on you people. This man is the most worthless of any President ever elected by a FREE People. Unqualified, over his head, and has an obvious hatred for our Constitution, and all that it represents. Just yesterday he said , “Get out and vote……for revenge” ??? What a Moron. “You didn’t build that” ??? Spoken from someone who has no idea how to run a business and has never signed a paycheck at the bottom. 4 Years of blaming Bush, an additional 15,000,000 people on food stamps since he started, and phony jobs reports. When Clinton/Bush were Presidents, and “times were good”, the unemployment was between 4-5%. You can’t tell me that having an 8-9% unemployment (under obama)could throw our economy into a tail-spin like it has for an additional 3-4% out of work?
The books were cooked. And the slimebag hides his agendas behind Executive Orders because he knows Congress would never pass his Socialist agenda. Look up his second EO and see how he made all the people who work under his administration , sign a document of allegiance to him. Check it out for your self #13490 : (www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/FR-... ) By the way , the first one was opening up previous President’s records for 12 years, so he would have someone to blame things on. How about this idiot taking American’s Tax Payer money and giving it to General Motors, a private company, and a half a billion to Solyndra, Beacon, and even giving land and perks to a Chinese Solar company in Laughlin, Nevada. “Fast and Furious”? , declaring “Executive Privilege” so it couldn’t be investigated by Congress. How about Benghazi ?? Any other President would be up for treason charges, but the media gives him a pass, and the Congress is gutless and he is Black (50% white), so we can’t go against him because then we are a racist. Sorry if I may have confused you with facts. my Prayer: “GOD, PLEASE DON’T LET…

You are so right. We are voting not just for President Obama and against Willard Romney. We are also voting against the greed, ignorance, racism, misogyny, religious bigotry, and jingoism that Willard represents. Unfortunately, too many Americans are of the same mindset, and their ignorance is dangerous. We have had more than 30 years of seeing where all this negativity leads the country. Although Ronald Reagan was not nearly as hateful as subsequent Republicans have come, the downward trajectory started with him.

Also, imo, a sign of frustration, desperation, and an acknowledgment of the impending defeat of Romney on Tuesday.
