Team Obama Tells Foreign Policy Bumbler Romney to Bring It On
By: Sarah JonesOct. 7th, 2012more from Sarah Jones
Mitt Romney is set to play foreign policy expert again on Monday, when he will give a speech at the Virginia Military Institute. The Romney campaign assures America that Romney will at long last draw contrasts between his policies and Obama’s, in addition to the awkward contrast Romney has inadvertently already drawn. Romney’s stumbles, shambles, gaffes, and national security risk fumbles have made entertaining but troubling news thus far.
The Romney campaign promises more vague platitudes strength against the weak fictional Obama they’ve been fighting, “Where President Obama has shown weakness, a Romney Administration will demonstrate strength and resolve. Where President Obama has shown equivocation, a Romney Administration will demonstrate clarity and never hesitate to speak out for American values.”
Romney must feel that alienating our allies is an American value, or perhaps in his mind politicizing an attack on Americans in order to divide the country so that he can score a few cheap points is a value we all share.
Obama for America spokeswoman Lis Smith issued the following statement today in advance of Mitt Romney’s foreign policy speech, “If Mitt Romney wants to have a debate about foreign policy, we have a message for him: bring it on. President Obama has decimated al-Qaeda’s leadership, responsibly ended the war in Iraq, is bringing our troops home from Afghanistan, and is standing up to China’s cheating.” Ms. Smith continued, “To date, all Mitt Romney has offered is bluster and platitudes. He’s erratically shifted positions on every major foreign policy issue, including intervening in Libya, which he was against before he was for.”
Smith points out how far the Bush staffed Romney’s foreign policy is, “‘Mainstream’ foreign policy isn’t what Mitt Romney is putting forward: having plans to start wars but not end them; wanting to keep 30,000 U.S. troops in Iraq indefinitely; exploding our defense spending to levels the Pentagon has not asked for, with no way to pay for it; insulting our allies and partners around the world on the campaign trail; and calling Russia our number-one geopolitical foe. If that’s where Mitt Romney thinks the mainstream is, he needs to find a better compass. It’s clear that on every measure, Mitt Romney fails the commander-in-chief test.”
If only Romney would start focusing his attacks on the real Obama instead of the fictional Right wing version of Obama, he would know that last Wednesday’s debate was the most vulnerable Obama would be. When it comes to foreign policy, President Obama has been amazingly successful and has broad support and trust from the American people.
Even after the debate, the public judged Obama to be the candidate “tough” enough to be President, and that was after Romney spent the debate showing off his frenzied attack dog mode.

Romney’s Foreign Policy advisers are ALL CHANEY NEOCONSERVATIVES who help push the country into two useless wars.
Weapons of Mass Destruction, like Voter Fraud is a game the GOP used to fool Americans.
As a CEO, Romney should know you don’t make the same mistake twice.

Clueless Willard even said a few months ago that the Soviet Union (which hasn’t existed for more than 20 years) is our number one enemy. He also would like to start a war with Iran. It’s ironic, because during the Vietnam War, he protested for that war but did not participate in it although he was the age to be drafted.

A drinking game for every time he mentions Obama apologizes for America. That’s his whole deal. Red meat lies to bookend his total ignorance of decorum or diplomacy and its use as a better foreign policy tool than blowing up every country you don’t like. You can bet he will declare war on Iran and maybe Syria. He will get the Chinese so pissed they will ramp up their military. Russia will see the Chinese threat and build more weapons. Bingo, Cold War, here we are again. Romney is dangerous for this planet.

I mean how DO you debate someone who can show up as anybody and say anything, he can just make up any lie, and I guess Obama will have to call him or her (maybe Romney will show up in drag this time) on it. Romney is nothing but performance art and not very good at it-was that comedy?

How do you debate a weasel? You play this like a two-out-of-three match of Yugioh. You throw the first game so you can strategize your next two. Obama might not look like he knew what he was up against the first time around, but he truly did. He’s going to floor Romney in round 2.

Obama fumbled badly and repeatedly in his responses to Romney in the Domestic Policy debate in Denver on 10/3/12.
Obama grasped most of the substantive matter and in the areas where he failed, Romney also failed.
But if the lack of crispness and pertinacity of Obama’s answers in the Domestic Policy debate stem from the complexity of the issues and the difficulty of boiling the answers down to mamageable chunks, Obama faces a much steeper challenge in foreign policy.
The issues arising from the Arab Spring and replacement of American Allies such Mubarek, by the Moslem Brotherhood backed Mosri are much more convulated, impervious to Presidential control and obscure to the public than the tax and economy issues that were discussed in the Domestic Policy debate.
Obama, must respond to Romney. The President cannot again rely on merely stating Romney is wrong and rebutting his challenger’s assertions with the statement that they are wrong.
Obama has to make a strong case for the strategic implications of the policies he is pursuing. He can do this by stating that the Arab Spring is reducing the level of political repression in the affected countries and that the resentments stemming from US tolerance of past repression has to work its way out of the system.
The President has to show how his foreign policy can spread the ideals of representative democracy and mixed-market capitalism throughout the world.
He can pont to successes in Lating America, sub-Saharan Africa and in Europe for the efficacy of his approach.
The challenges in the Moslem regions and in the Pacific Rim remain, but Obama must show that he is meeting them. Obama must show that cooperation, not a policy of calling the Chinese cheaters or the Muslims terrorists is our best and most advantageous policy framework.
Most of all, the President must take Romney seriously and prepare himself to rebut Romney forcefully and instantly.

Team Obama need to stop issuing challenges and tighten up their game.
To get a clear picture of badly Obama has been doing in explaining his positions this year, go to C-Span and watch British Labour Party Leader Ed Milliband’s One Nation speech before the Labour Party Conference in Manchester last Tuesday, 10/2/12.
In the Domestic Policy debate, (Denver, 10.3.12) Obama was factually correct and rebutted most of Romney’s arguments with accurate information drawn from experience or from Romney’s web-stie.
Yet because of his body language, his poor choice of tie, his fatigue and his lack of preparedness, Obama looked reactive and weak in comparison to Romney.
The Town Hall format which is the projected format for the Foreign Policy debate is by far Obama’s most challenging presentation format.
Had Team Obama devoted the time needed to preparing and resting the candidate, instead of sending him on repeated campaign forays to Ohio, Virginia and Nevada, they would now have the luxury of sending Obama off on campaign forays OR resting and prepping him.
Instead, the candidate is immobilized for eigth or nine days of the most critical part of the campaign. This is entirely a self-inflicted wound.
Team Obama have to bear down, get the President prepped for the next debate, get some exhortatory messages in the can to play to energize the troops in the early voting states and PUT ROMNEY AWAY in the next two debates.
