Obama Stops Romney’s Jeep Lie Dead In its Tracks With Blistering New Ohio Ad
By: Jason EasleyOct. 29th, 2012more from Jason Easley
The Obama campaign is stopping Romney’s Jeep to China lie dead in its tracks with a tough new ad that delivers the facts, and calls Romney a liar.
Here is the ad:
The script for the ad reads, “When the auto industry faced collapse, Mitt Romney turned his back. Even the conservative Detroit News criticized Romney for his ‘wrong-headedness’ on the bailout. And now, after Romney’s false claim of Jeep outsourcing to China, Chrysler ITSELF has refuted Romney’s lie. The truth? Jeep is ADDING jobs in Ohio. Mitt Romney on Ohio jobs? Wrong Then. Mitt Romney: ‘Let Detroit go bankrupt.’ Dishonest Now.”
In the span of 30 seconds, the Obama campaign called Romney both a liar and dishonest. The problem for Romney is that Ohio voters aren’t going to be fooled by his last ditch gambit to scare them into supporting him. During a conference call with reporters today, UAW Region 2B Director Ken Lortz summed up the reaction to Romney’s desperate tactics as, “The people of Toledo and North Ohio are being subjected to this filth and we won’t tolerate it.”
Obama campaign manager Jim Messina pointed out that Romney is getting desperate, so he released an ad that everyone knows is false. The fact that Romney ran this ad tells you a lot about him and where he stands in Ohio. The reality is that Romney is trailing in 14 of the 16 most recent polls released in the state. (The other two polls are tied.) Even though Romney isn’t leading a single poll of the state, many in the mainstream media continue to push the Romney campaign’s spin that the state is a toss up. As Nate Silver keeps pointing out, the data shows that the state isn’t a toss up. Obama is the favorite to win in Ohio.
Desperate campaigns do things like intentionally twisting a Bloomberg article so that they can claim that Jeep is moving jobs to China when the opposite is true. The Romney campaign has been backing their lies about Jeeps with bluffs about momentum. They are also bluffing about expanding the map, and their biggest bluff of all is the idea that Ohio is somehow up for grabs.
The hard data coming out about early voting doesn’t lie. Obama is piling up big leads in Ohio, Nevada, Iowa, and the president is doing well in North Carolina. Romney currently leads in zero battleground states. Mitt Romney had to have Ohio. He is not getting it, so his campaign is subtly starting to spin away from Ohio by claiming that Wisconsin is the new Ohio, and Minnesota is the new Ohio.
Mitt Romney is trying to lie his way to victory in Ohio, and the Obama campaign has responded by calling out the lie and the liar.
The early voting math is creating a problem for Mitt Romney. Obama is piling up such large margins that ...

Consider where he’s coming from.
He’s a Mormon Bishop (I nearly typed Moron -LAUGH!).
His church teaches “Lying for the Lord”.
He’s used to complete and total unquestioning obedience.
He’s also used to never being questioned or resisted.
The most important part is that he’s used to his statements being taken as fact without question or dissent.
He lies because he believes that people will take his lies at face value.
The sad thing is that people under authoritarian systems (which defines most of “Good Christian” “Christianity”) are also subjected to pressure to take their leaders’ statements at face value and as truth – even if they’re blatant lies like we hear all the time from Romney and Ryan.

Romney needs to learn how to keep his mouth shut about things he have NO IDEA of what he is talking about.
This lie is so damaging to his campaign, that his six point lead in North Carolina completely vanished in four days. It is officially a tie in NC, but the state is breaking towards President Obama for the first time since the Democratic convention ended – and the Obama momentum could not have come at an even better time for him, with just 7 days and change until the election, plus early voting.
Romney and the other liars in the GOP will rue the day that they decided to lie and smear this President.

The folks on here will say Romney paid Mr. Woods to interview. Given the rate of investigation it may take 10 more years, but I am certain someone other than the President will take the fall for any wrong doing. Here’s the deal- if Jeep sales increase sufficiently in China- plants will be built there just like all of the other US companies now doing production in China and the rest of the world. That’s what global Capitalism is all about.
Of course this is tied to jobs in this country…but, the corporations will always do the math first..they will only return to this country (as some have) when wages are depressed sufficiently (therefore: crush all unions); when productivity continues to soar (remember the hard fought 40 hour week?) even in light of stagnant or depressed wages; when the government (as it did with Bush) gets out of the regulatory business and allows free range corporate behavior.
All of these posts are just spitting into the wind…we have moved into Friedman’s ‘flat world’ and there is no way to stop it now. That’s why someone like Romney can run with a serious chance to win- he IS business…he IS the manager needed for this new world order…Government by the few, of the few, for the few…That’s why his choice of Ryan a Rand acolyte was completely logical. The point everyone is missing is THEY ARE TELLING THE TRUTH: no government, except to the extend necessary to force the will of global corpratists.
It has been the truth and will remain the truth. Obama is just a slightly less onerous choice..but, even he will bow to power…(unless there is a hurricane, then, suddenly, government is good…right Governor Christie?…wonder if this pant load will take government aid $$$$?).
Thoughts and best wishes to everyone on the east coast…be strong.

The President has answered the questions regarding Libya, you “conservatives” just don’t like or believe what he has said. If it was Mitt then we would be getting many different answers to one question. That’s what he does best and very often. Most of us intelligent people can see right through him even if he is as in-transparent as nay other presidential candidate ever. Where are his tax returns? What about the plant he closed in Freeport, Illinois? He pocketed over 21 million while outsourcing jobs to China, making the outgoing employees TRAIN the Chinese. 500 people lost middle class jobs. You want bullying? How about burning people’s property? Destroying the things that could help them have a future, or that they’d worked hard at for years to put together?
Worse, what about poisoning their innocent and loved little kitties?
Do you know how fucking much it hurts to hold a kitty as it’s dying from being poisoned, knowing it was done by a “Good Christian” because of something you wrote? The helplessness and anguish and pain? Especially since you know that the local dominionist-friendly “Good Christian” sheriff wouldn’t do a thing about it?
Do you understand grief? I doubt it seriously. We have a “kitty cemetery” out in our front yard. Some in it died from natural causes, including ripe old age. Several were poisoned because of freedom of speech. I still feel every last death, and remember – and love and miss – every one.
I also now wonder if our last dog, Buddy, was poisoned by “Good Christians” – who have threatened us because of our resistance to their bullying.

Speaking of Mitt Romney’s lies, there’s a new ad posted today (called: ‘Secretary of Business’) to the ‘mittromney’ YouTube channel that blatantly misrepresents comments by Obama regarding the consolidation of various business and commerce-related depts into a single, one-stop agency. It wasn’t even a specific proposal by the President, just a comment he made about the fact that there are numerous duplicative agencies in Washington, and that he thought we might be better-served by eliminating redundancy in govt programs and services.
Romney twisted those comments into the claim that Obama wants to add another bureaucratic dept in government. Seriously, he twisted Obama’s words to be the exact OPPOSITE of what was actually said. The guy is such a pathological liar and pandering fraud, I can’t believe how anyone would want to vote for him, even if they hate Obama.

Gone are the days when truth and lies meant something. Now, spin, interpretation, and gerrymandering are the name of the game. It was understood months ago, that if MR did not carry Ohio the odds of his election were less than 24% if not 0.
What I wonder about is why there is such a social disconcordance around what is right and wrong. It is right to support the middle class. It is fact not fiction. There is considerable separation between the upper and middle class (a cause for the most government failures in history). Social programs are a luxury of a healthy economy not a burden. Borrowed money is borrowed money: Pay it back! A healthy military means peace not war. Corruption is a staple of human intelligence, it takes diligence and consequence to keep it at bay.
