Late Night Snack: President Obama’s Inspiring Ireland Speech
Your President’s inspiring speech today in Ireland – it’s long, but it’s worth it. Especially uncomfortable when they boo the vague reference to his birth certificate, which made me ashamed of the people pushing that widely debunked ode to racism. But the rest of the speech was truly magnificent, as he wove history into a tale of overcoming challenges and shared values.
The speech was so good that Fox News’s Eric Bolling, left with nothing else, tweeted that Obama was “chugging 40′s” in Ireland, in a failed attempt to use dog whistle racism to bring the President down to his level. However, anyone who has ever been to Ireland knew that when the President referenced having a pint at the local pub, he meant a pint – you know, like they serve in Ireland. Maybe in Bolling’s Ireland they serve 40′s?
Hey, Eric, how’d those biggie fries go down as you clutched your mistresses pearls and hid under the covers quaking in fear over the coming rapture? Oh, I kid, Eric! It’s just a joke! You know, because Republicans are stereotyped as cheating on their wives while eating processed, logo-ed food and fear-mongering about things that never seem to happen. Gosh, don’t get all PC on us now, Eric, y’hear?

Was hoping to hear this speech last night on the so called “news”after I got home from work, but no such luck.It is a sad statement of this country, when folks in other countries love our President more then we do.Not me,I love President Obama.
Wish you would have put in the transcript of this speech.I live in the other America, where they have no high speed to watch videos online.

Hi Tina,
sorry, that must be frustrating. As you know, I always put a transcript in, but this was a late night snack, which means it’s not a full post- just something I want to share with you all.
There’s a good link below and if I see the transcript today I will definitely put a link here for you:-)

Mr Kenny is an incredible speaker. Im not sure if he could be hitler or one of the best Boxing announcers in history. in any case, he sounds exactly like the person that Ireland needs..
I am happy that our president is welcomed overseas in this manner.I am happy that America has regained the patina that is so sadly lost in the Bush decade. I am happy that Barack Obama is our president

It’s a sad commentary when people from overseas embrace our president in a way that many here don’t. Like many other Americans, our president has a multi-racial background which he embraces wholeheartedly. So many who don’t like him focus on his African heritage when it suits their purposes, but claim he’s not black enough when it suits them. I am proud that this man is our president, and his speech is a thing of beauty.

That hit me as well- rather ashamed of those folks and the way they make us look here in a new way. Ashamed that no one here boos those folks – it’s like they wore us down until their hatred and ugliness was normal. Ashamed that hardly no one here stands up for their President against all of these ugly attacks.
We note that racism, like sexism, is a weapon deployed by people in power to keep others down- but if the people in power like the person who also happens to be a woman, or black, or whatever, then they will say this person doesn’t act like xyz does, hence hurting the minority they pick on even more by creating yet another division.

The speech was/is wonderful! Nothing but absolute admiration. Just downright excellent.
Did Eric Bolling really say Obama was “chugging 40′s”? I mean, this is what FoxNews calls fair and balanced? Racism is Fair and Balanced? He should be ridiculed for saying this. Disgusting.
