In Ohio Obama Speaks to Thousands While Romney Draws Hundreds
By: Jason EasleySep. 26th, 2012more from Jason Easley
It is easy to tell who is winning in Ohio. President Obama drew thousands to a rally at Bowling Green, while not even an appearance by Mike ‘Dirty Jobs’ Rowe could help Romney draw more than hundreds.
Here is how the Toledo Blade described the attendance for Obama at Bowling Green, “President Obama fired up thousands of college students at Bowling Green State University today with promises to build on the progress he’s made bringing back jobs to the country while blasting Mitt Romney’s plan to help the wealthy.”
Here is a clip of Obama taking the stage at Bowling Green (courtesy of our friends at The Obama Diary):
The Akron Beacon Journal described Romney’s appearance at American Spring Wire in Beford Heights, “Surrounded by bales of wire covered in blue plastic inside a warehouse of American Spring Wire, several hundred supporters have been waiting for a campaign appearance be Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney.”
Mitt Romney even had a celebrity with him. Mike Rowe, the host of Dirty Jobs and the voice for Deadliest Catch appeared with Romney, and still the crowd was in the hundreds.
The new Republican meme is that all of the polls are wrong. Mitt Romney is really winning the election. The polling is being manipulated by liberals and the media to make it look like Romney is losing. Republicans might not want to believe the polls, but the fact of the matter is that President Obama consistently draws thousands to his events, while Romney draws hundreds. The Romney campaign has taken to holding their rallies in very small venues in order to create the illusion of broad support for their candidate.
The reality is that Obama is speaking in front of thousands, while Mitt Romney is speaking to hundreds. Romney has never been able to draw a crowd. During the Republican primaries Romney was only able to draw large crowds when Mormon college students were bused into his events. Republicans knew Romney would never be personally popular, but what they did not expect was that the Democrats would get enthused and come roaring back.
A few weeks ago, President Obama drew 11,000 supporters in Florida while Mitt Romney drew 600 in Virginia. Last Saturday, Obama drew a crowd of 18,000 in Wisconsin, while Romney spent the day in California begging a wealthy donors to fund his debt riddled campaign.
Republicans will still show up at the polls on Election Day in order to vote against Obama. In order for Obama’s current advantage to translate to victory, Democrats must translate their current enthusiasm into action in November. With new polling showing Obama’s lead growing in the state, Romney’s bus tour looks more like a desperate last gasp than victory lap.
If Obama’s support translates to votes, Ohio will once again be blue on Election Day.

my thoughts, exactly…
I wish these people would either stay on the right side of history or keep there mouths shut…
I’ll be adding “dirty jobs, deadliest catch and his new show” to the trash heap, so to speak.

i work in tv/film industry. i been saying for the past few weeks, that the so called librul media, have not been showing wide shots, but once in a while the editor will slip in a quick cut…. yet the prez is filling 15k+ venues and still have to turn folk away…. i bet the internal polls that both camps have show a way wider margin than the public ones are….
the cables, and the majors need a horse race so they can garner numbers in the nov sweeps…. its all a biz kids.

Do you mean liberal? You also might consider using a period once in a while. When you use the pronoun I, it is usually capitalized. Just saying, good grammar gives someone a more compelling reason in considering your view.

No, the DNC moved things inside because of the rains that came to Charlotte. And had to turn people away because the place was jam-packed. Obama is drawing better crowds, and any of the pictures from the events shows this, including the one at the very link you provide. Once again, we see someone ignoring reality in favor of the one they create.

That is absolutely true. Lots of people who wanted to go could not because of the threat of rain on that open stadium. It is true that enthusiasm would be less than four years ago, but nevertheless there would still have been double the people seeing his acceptance speech live. I think that more people would have liked to have seen Bill Clinton speak too.
Judging by the way the Republican party is going, they will be having their future conventions at a junior college gymnasium.

No, Mr. Easley is not an idiot. Pretty shrewd understanding of politics.

Nick, you are a loon. As a Grad of BGSU, I know how hard it is to get THOUSANDS to do anything there. But I have seen the Prez twice in the last 6 weeks and each crowd was pretty damn big for a mid week, daytime rally.
Face it, mittens is a twit. And Dusty, is spot on. I have over 25 years in Radio and Television. Dusty you speak truth.
Now we need to get about the business of giving this President what he needs. A filibuster proof Senate and a House majority. And may both be blue dog irrelevant.

SickupandFed, when I see a post like yours, my faith in America is restored. Sometimes, I feel this country has been dumbed down and that too many people will fall for the twit. There’s only one thing I want for Christmas and that is to see Mitten’s concession speech.

Give President Obama 4 more years with a Democrat Congress big numbers. We will see progress in al directions, and see the mess created by GWB cleaned up.

Dubya’s presidency is haunting the GOP and time will tell whether that was the beginning of the end of the Republican party.

Not trying to bring race into it, but I saw Mitt and Obama on tv in Ohio today. Obama had a very diverse bunch, while I only saw 1 black lady on the crowd behind Mitt, and we know he places his crowd.

I’ve been noticing that our site is being infested recently with RW trolls. I say our site because I feel like I am a part of the PoliticusUSA family. I’ve noticed that since Romney has turned out to be a crappy candidate and since he’s behind in most polls, the RW trolls feel a need to come and pizzz over any good news Jason, Rmuse, Sarah, and Hrafnkell report about the president. They don’t understand that they can’t depress us, and they can’t keep us from showing up at the polls in November. It’s not our fault that they hitched their horse to a dilapidated wagon like Mitt Romney, and it’s not Americans’ fault that they’ve largely rejected Romney.

Keep in mind, these so-called Trolls, are really $ paid disruptors! They are the equilvalent of the dreaded “BROWN SHIRTS”of years past. Their job is to generate fear, angst, anger and apprehension…
Stay focus people, don’t let the Plutocrats Buy or Steal this election. They have already caused the lost of Four years of progress and recovery, hoping to use their demolition as a spring board, back to power via the White House!
It is control of the President’s ‘VETO PEN’ that they need, for total domination of politics in this country!
Fact is, their politics STINK; Republicans have a record, please review it, before casting your ballot, Then vote in your own best interest…

It’s seems a little surprising that Mike Rowe would be for Romney when you consider he has actually seen and participated in some of the “dirtiest” jobs. In other words, he has been among working people. Did he intentionally want to destroy his cred? Inquiring minds want to know. BTW, I don’t watch his show but I know its premise and I don’t think Romney fits in there well. Does he anywhere outside mansions and board rooms?

How ironic, Mike Rowe, a spokesman for FORD, supposedly supporting a man who would have let the car makers go bankrupt.
Based on that argument, he’d be looking for another sponsor to shill for.

I have been making calls to various states as the organization I belong to is growing our grassroots base. The majority of people that I talk to are already volunteering and/or donating to Obama’s campaign. I am so inspired by them that I keep on calling more and more just to hear just how many people are for Obama.

I just ran across this site. I am an independent not affiliated with any party or candidate. All of these guys are Liars, Cheats, and Thieves. How any of you can fall for this President shows how ignorant people are. How he was even elected is sad.
I evaluate each of these boneheads in office independentaly ….then vote on who I think will cause the least amount of pain to our citizens and defend our country from the psychopath nations that want to see our country gone.
I dont care how liked they are, politically correct they are, or what they look like. Can they kick tail and get things done.
Obama has not got enough done….in fact, I dont know what he has actually got done… I dont care WHY…it doesnt matter Why….he has not got the job done…Period. He said he would get the job done and has NOT…On that Alone he needs to go. Time to give someone else a try….they cannot do worse. I dont see More Hope, There has been NO Change…..Vote him OUT….and Vote out anyone else who has not Done the job to get things done. These people are hired to do a job and when they suck, they need to get out.
God Bless America
