Disastrous News for the GOP as Obama Leads Romney in Three New Ohio Polls
By: Jason EasleyOct. 24th, 2012more from Jason Easley
Three new polls of the critical swing state of Ohio all agree. Barack Obama is currently leading Mitt Romney in the Buckeye State.
Obama leads Romney in the Time poll 49%-44%. Time’s polling also revealed that there are two races going on in Ohio right now. Among voters who haven’t voted yet, the candidates are tied 45%-45%, but President Obama is dominating Romney with early voters 60%-30%. Obama is leading with women 56%-37%, while Romney is leading with men, 51%-42%. Romney is leading with white voters (49-43), while Obama is leading big with young voters and minorities. Romney’s negative message about the economy isn’t working in Ohio, as 54% of those surveyed believed the country is on the wrong track, but 51% also believe that their state is on the right track.
Obama leads Romney 47%-44% in the SurveyUSA poll. Much like the Time poll, Romney leads with men (49%-42%), while Obama holds a double digit lead with women (52%-40%). Obama leads by nine points (49%-40%) with voters age 18-49, and Romney holds a small three point lead (49%-46%) with those over age 50. Romney leads Obama by just 5 points with white voters (49%-44), and the president leads 70%-22% with African-Americans.
A Lake Research poll has Obama leading 46%-44% in Ohio. The poll found that Romney is struggling with men in the state. The Republican leads Obama with men by just a four point margin, 47%-43%. Obama leads Romney with women 49%-41%. Romney’s biggest problem in the state is that more Ohio voters have a negative view (49%) than have a positive view (47%) of him. In contrast, 52% have a favorable view of Obama and 44% have an unfavorable view of the president.
Even Republican pollster Rasmussen has Romney tied with Obama (48%-48%). Rasmussen polls contain a 4 point Republican bias, so when the extra four points are factored in, even the Republican poll is in line with the other three. In total, four new polls of the state of Ohio were released today, and Mitt Romney is leading none of them.
If Obama’s domination of early voting continues, and the candidates split the vote on Election Day, the president will carry Ohio. A key number to pay attention is the amount of the total vote in the state that comes in through early voting. In 2008, 33% of the vote in Ohio was done during early voting. If this percentage is higher in 2012, it bodes well for President Obama.
Mitt Romney is not performing strongly enough with white and male voters to offset the big Obama advantages with young people, women, and African-Americans. Romney can’t split or narrowly win Ohio white voters and men. He will have to beat Obama by double digits to even have a chance of winning the state.
For those of you who are concerned about the voting machines in Ohio, keep in mind that an election has to be close for fraud to have an impact. Election fraud can really only shift a very close contest. A five point lead is too much to be manipulated. People must be vigilant, but the best way to ease election fraud concerns is for President Obama to build up a lead so large in early voting that it can’t be taken away.
The Romney campaign continues to claim that they are gaining ground in Ohio, but as we draw closer to Election Day, Obama’s lead continues to remain at a roughly 3-5 point margin. It becomes difficult to impossible for Romney to win without winning Ohio. The Republican candidate has no choice but to keep competing there; however, it is looking more and more like Mitt Romney is spinning his wheels and getting nowhere fast in Ohio.

If people in Ohio knew Romney like the people in Mass. know him, he’d be down by 20 points.

They will probably be wondering why their voter suppression tactics and tons of money, via Citizens United, didn’t bring winning results for them, MZonkoski. They’ll overlook the fact that Romney is a lousy candidate, the GOP’s War on Women, the total lack of transparency in the Romney/Ryan campaign, the endless stream of lies Romney/Ryan told, and that not every American bought the version of the president that Fox News and the right have been selling.

I was feeling happy about the polls, then I read of more voters being purged in a big way in Indiana, and now it appears that Frank Luntz & Karl Rove are planning the nastiest, ugliest blitz against Obama in the last week before the election, so people should be aware that the lies will be coming thick and fast and that we should let our friends know!

But for those who have not voted yet we still have to make sure that they vote. We can’t take for granted that what they say is true and find out later it isn’t. But deep down I do believe it is true because the republican have tried so hard to keep people from voting, taking away women rights, against immigantions, seniors, miniorties all the people votess they need and now they want to pretend they are on their side. Bull. Even that act that mitt try to pull monday night will not work but i do believe the man has memory problem and really can’t remember things. But i bet he will remember real well on november 6 when the president get reelection and how he was dumbing trying to fool the american people instead the american people fool him. Who knows i wouldn’t be surprise if Ann vote for the president, wouldn’t no one know but Ann, her God. Once the curtain is pull no one knows who you isvoting for. There will be a lot of republican women voting democrated because of all the women rights that the republican has taken away from and they now that the president will get them back for them. The republican will keep doing something stupid everyday right up to election and it will cause the end of the party after the election. More republicans are going to come public talking rape and abortions and that is what going to sink them until final they will lose the rest of their base. They have been talking about for the past two years and done everything in their power to past bills against womens and that is where they will lost their women votes. They think it is the poor, the illegals, they are talking too but it reall is the upper higher class white women who are going to cross over to the president and they will still bee wondering how did that happen and when. In end they are going to say the presidrnt cheated but it won’t be true and there be no recount no matter how bad they may want. Just some broke billionares, millionares crying river full of…

DON’T ANYONE DARE USE THIS AS A REASON TO STAY HOME AND NOT VOTE !
Never never never assume anything !
Vote !
Vote early — so if there are any snags they can be cleared up.
Vote early—-so others who cannot or don’t vote early do not have to risk losing their vote because the polls closed while voters were still in line waiting.
Vote ! Drags your friends with you.
Vote ! And give a ride to any one, ANY one who wants to vote and may have a transportation problem.

Yes!! This is critical if you live in a swing state.
To everyone that happens to reside in a swing state: IT IS ABSOLUTELY IMPERATIVE THAT YOU GET OUT AND VOTE!!
The fate and well being of our nation – and perhaps the world – is at stake here.

Even in “safe” states, volume of popular votes DOES matter. The overall win has to come in both areas to quell the RW uprising that will ensue when Obama is re-elected. It is NOT enough to win the electoral college – we had to eat it in 2000 and 2004 with the electoral dominance. They won’t. They already attacked a Dem HQ in MO because McCaskill is leading Akin – they are dangerous, and the ONLY way to stop some of them (not all of them) is to have sheer numbers for the popular vote, too.
Your state is safe? Get out the vote anyway. The more the better. It MATTERS.

Vote early and give your time in volunteering to get others to the polls! We must be diligent in this election. The Republicans (Romney) own some of the voting machines that are being used in this election cycle. Our turnout has to be so great, that any manipulation they may try will truly be glaring!
Keep the faith, pray and go the extra mile. We are on our way to V I C T O R Y !

A vote for Obama is a vote against Santorum/Bachmann/Palin/Trump/Cheney/Bush/Romney Nixon/Ryan Exxon-Mobil/GOP/Boehner/Cantor/Mourdock/Akin/Radical Politics/etc…
Put that in perspective.
Yes, it’s that important. Obama/Biden 2012.
