Public Records Reveal Romney Profited From Corruption, Fraud, and Racketeering at Bain
Over the past nine months, a question plaguing Willard Mitt Romney is when he left as CEO of Bain Capital due to conflicting state and federal SEC and FEC filing statements contradicting his retroactive retirement contention. It is pertinent to know why he fled Bain Capital in August 2001, and why he cited February 1999 as his official separation date when he was CEO the entire time. Organized crime figures develop elaborate schemes to avoid Department of Justice (DOJ) investigations and in Romney’s case it was Bain Capital’s bankruptcy fraud he was desperate to avoid.
MoveOn.org filed a complaint with the DOJ over Romney’s disclosure claiming he was 100% stock holder and paid Bain Capital executive in 2002 despite his contention left active management in 1999. The period between Feb 1999 and Aug 2001 is when Romney, Bain Capital, and their corrupt operatives conspired to commit bankruptcy fraud guaranteeing Bain Capital could plunder a company they managed with impunity.
To understand the level of fraud Romney’s surrogates committed in bankruptcy court, imagine a child custody battle between a powerful attorney and his ex-wife. The husband employs his firm to represent him, and surreptitiously supplies his partner to represent his ex-wife. When the mother discovers her ex-husband controlled his and her counsel, she reports the malfeasance to the court, and to avoid an investigation, her husband arranges to replace the prosecutor with one of his firm’s partners who pretends to investigate and then drops the case.
A similar scenario unfolded when Bain Capital took eToys into bankruptcy. Bain Capital’s secret law firm, MNAT, colluded with Romney’s bankruptcy gang by committing perjury to represent the debtors’ counsel and creditor’s counsel to give the appearance of being on opposite sides and conceal the fact eToys was not broke. Controlling both sides, Bain Capital’s corrupt gang colluded to plunder the company’s assets without opposition, and give Bain Capital eToys for free.
A 2005 Wall Street Journal article explained that eToys creditor’s attorney lied by failing to disclose conflict of interest when he appointed his partner as CEO of eToys. The eToys bankruptcy trustee alleged the “failure to disclose is difficult to understand as inadvertent rather than deliberate,” and it transpired in other companies Bain Capital took into bankruptcy during the same period. Influencing the debtor and creditor’s counsel, Bain was assured their bust out scheme would be successful. However, when an eToys executive liquidating assets discovered the frauds, including the company may not be broke, he alerted eToys managers and attorneys who attempted to buy him off; he declined their offer and reported the corruption to the Department of Justice. It is about this time that Romney, fearing a Department of Justice investigation, fled Bain Capital by retroactively retiring back to February 1999 to conceal his involvement in the eToys corruption scandal.
Despite the fact that Bain’s secret law firms (MNAT and Paul Traub) admitted lying, there was no Department of Justice investigation into Bain Capital, Romney, or their surrogates’ fraud and perjury because in August 2001, George W. Bush nominated another MNAT partner, Colm Connolly, as Delaware United States Attorney. Consequently, as Bain Capital’s friend, he refused to investigate and/or prosecute the confessed acts of perjury and admitted intentional crimes.
Romney was head of Bain Capital while his team of conspirators committed fraud on the court, and when they were reported to the Department of Justice he “retroactively retired” to conceal his involvement and avoid a Department of Justice investigation. George W. Bush’s appointment of a lawyer from Bain Capital’s secret law firm as U.S. Attorney guaranteed Romney would not be investigated, but retroactive retiring does not change public docket records or FEC and SEC filings showing he profited from corruption, fraud, and racketeering (RICO) as head of Bain Capital, and as he was a corrupt vulture capitalist, he will be a corrupt president.

I find it amusing that, in an article about Romney’s corruption, we find an ad for campaign buttons urging us to “wear our pride”for the same man. Cost = 89 cents.
My pride i worth more than that, thanks.

Bandwidth isn’t free; might as well take Republican ad money via Google AdSense – they’re so eager to believe they’re going to change minds here. BUT, just a point of information: You can limit AdSense to not display political ads at all. I did that – after removing AdSense in 2008 for this VERY reason – and now run it completely politics free on my blog. I’m sure it’s not as lucrative that way, but I sleep better at night.

Doesn’t say much for the Register and their skewed thinking/reporting

I would hope this would go viral along with the story about the Ohio Secretary of State having experimental uncertified and untested software installed on voting machines in about 35 counties in Ohio. These machines will be used to vote and tally the votes in Ohio. The Secretary of State there is Republican, as if that’s not obvious. By hook, or by crook should he the motto of the republican party this year!!

Senator Joe Biden knew this guy Colm Connolly was horse manure. He refused to return the required Senate confirmation slip to allow a vote for Connolly to become a Delaware District Court Judge.

Yes, Vice President Biden knew where Connolly was a partner when he was nominated by George W. Bush. Interesting that Bush appointed a Bain lawyer to investigate Bain racketeering. The fraud and corruption runs deep in the GOP; all the way to the top.

Rolling Stone Matt Taibbi has the details of Kay Bee gloom in the story “Greed and Debt”. Michael Glazer paid himself $18 million (the amount of money Bain Capital purportedly invested in Kay Bee) and then paid Bain $83 million before they filed bankruptcy.
Anywhere else this would be a crime. Insider rules in bankruptcy court have extra ordinary protections.
It is also noteworthy that MNAT (the Bain Capital law firm doing fraud in eToys – that was Sold to Kay Bee for pennies) is also the representing Bain Capital defending the right to keep the $83 million.

What system of Justice?
There has never been a real system of justice. You get the best justice you can pay for… and if you’re poor, you’re shit out of luck. All you can do is try to live as blameless a life as possible and hope that nothing happens.
As too many people have learned, that’s no guarantee either.
(And for more evidence of how worthless the “Justice System” is, look up the Innocence Project.)

This is sickening…lie after lie, cover after cover;
no one really knows who the hell this guy really is other than he’s a sociopath. He reminds me of the sci-fi creatures, “The Borg”–he believes resistance is futile if you are not attached to his money-making machine of destruction. Everyone and everything on the planet is his for exploration.

That’s really sad everyone talking bad about our president but here it is that mitt Romney is been lying from day one his family and him are crooked everyone needs to repost to this every where on twitter,Facebook, anywhere they have a account this really needs to go in many countrys and states so people can really have a idea of who Romney really is and have a real clear understanding who they’re voting for because if he did this at bain what you think he’s going ro do in the white house more money more problems for real on the real he’s a rich criminal and he needs to be locked up because rich folks think the law don’t reply to them treat everyone as equal…

This revelation is just another reminder of who Mitt Romney really is. Just because he doesn’t share information about his tax returns, or say exactly what he would do as president, doesn’t mean that he hasn’t revealed his true character. He is corrupt, greedy, and incapable of telling the truth, especially since he has an end-justifies-the-means mentality. The people who insist on voting for him in spite of all his obvious and equally dangerous character flaws are the greedy wealthy and the terminally stupid who can always be counted on to vote against their own interests. If he got in the White House, he would sooner or later be under investigation for some kind of chicanery.

It’s a pipe dream to hope this will be discussed on the parade of Sunday talk shows. However, it seems the more evidence presented against this serial-lying sociopath, the stronger the resolve of his criminal GOP supporters to praise him. It is disgusting and if this criminal is elected, it is the final victory in Reagan’s Mourning in America.

How does Mitt Romney get away with laundering billions of unreported income in the Caymans through a bank owned by his church?
Romney has greatly under reported his income. He made $400M on Ampad alone! Bain bought HCA, after FL Gov Rick Scott gutted it, for $33 Billion and now it’s worth three times that much. What kind of fee do you get for engineering that kind of deal?
Romney claims to be a multi millionaire, but he’s really a multi billionaire. He must have a lot of money in the Caymans. BTW, Mormon Church owned Zions Bancorp, which recieved $700M in TARP, has subsidiaries in the Caymans and did own a money transfer corp that they have since sold.
What a crock...
Nov. 3rd, 2012 at 12:18 pm
I believe the billionaire stuff. Vanity Fair and Tim Russert are the only ones who really went after Mitt Romney for his Sankaty/ Bermuda entity that he owns 100% (even today). It has billions in dealings.
Do you have links(Proof) of the Zion issues with the Mormon Church (especially TARP)?
What a crock...

Goldman Sachs took eToys public in 1999. At that time MNAT represented Goldman Sachs in Delaware (where eToys is formed as a company). Also in 1999, MNAT merged Mitt Romney and Bain Capital’s entity – “The Learning Company” – with Mattel Toys. The stock of eToys soared above $78, but the new public entity only received around $18. This classic pump-n-dump stock scheme gave Goldman Sachs and Bain Capital the perfect opportunity. All they needed was for the MNAT law firm (that also represented the Mormon Church’s claim on the Howard Hughes estate) – to LIE to the Chief Federal Justice in 2001 – and become eToys Debtor attorneys.
Then, Mitt Romney’s other secret attorney (Paul Traub) lied to become the eToys Creditors attorney. Upon the success of those schemes, MNAT and Mr. Traub then put in Barry Gold as President/ CEO of eToys. Barry Gold worked for Mitt Romney and Michael Glazer at Stage Stores bankruptcy in 2000. Traub had been working with Romney/ Bain since the NeoStar case 2 decades ago. He was also at Jumbo Sports and Stage Stores with Barry Gold.

To the last sentence of this article…. A Big AMEN! Those with life in their souls knew all along he, Romney, never had the best interest of anyone in heart or mind but his own, as did his venomous wife. That almost half the country can be fooled and taken in by bloodless GOP hunters ever alert for their next mass set of easily swayed, gullible, uneducated victims is beyond me. Voters who vote along GOP lines anymore vote Against themselves and are too caught up in buying into manufactured rage to know it. Too many conspiracy theories cloud their already deluded minds to know Truth when it stands in white robes at their doors with simplistic explanations about what’s good for us All. We are the United States of America. Those who appropriately wear the color red, that is the shade of the GOP, should come to see, sooner rather than later, that a vote for them is a vote against law, the living, evolving meaning of the Constitution, and for their divide and conquer strategy they gleefully peddle as they take us back 50+ years, one union erosion, one privatized prison at a time. Wake up people. The litmus test for GOP office holders shouldn’t be how outrageously divisive and crazy their rhetoric is against our nation’s population. Someone has Got to set the bar above complete barbarism to make them relevant as a party again. How much more insanity must we watch for only our amusement now before they realize as a whole their goals to wage psychological warfare on US has failed miserably, thankfully. The GOP is Stuck in one emotion: anger. Why? Because they aren’t in the White House lifting US all Up as One people? No, because now they must endure, under fresh scrutiny, our dissection of their ideas that would Only benefit their bottom line. Anyone who’s worked for corporations knows the GOP rules. Shareholders first, company second, employees have numbers and are replaceable. Their god is the almighty dollar and when the control of it is out of only their…
