Steubenville Rape Crew Are Outraged That Their Character is Being Questioned
Warning for rape victims: May trigger. Proceed with caution.
Rape apologists, the rape crew, lawyers for the rape crew and morons (excuse the redundancy) are very upset about their rights being taken away and their character being impugned. That’s the message they’re getting from the outrage over the Steubenville rape case.
Yes, they’re full of self-pity and how-dare-you question us entitlement. This trickles down into the culture to reflect this sort of obvious fu*kwitedness: On a post meant to encourage Jane Doe:
“I was at work last year when a coworker was watching the news and said, ‘What’s rape anymore? You can’t stick your finger in someone without it being rape.’”
That sentiment echoes the current screeching from the rape apologists. It’s all the FemiNazi’s fault, I’ve been warned. Men can’t even ask a girl out anymore, they lament (‘cuz there’s no difference in these cretin’s minds between asking someone out and sticking something in her when she’s passed out). Much moaning from the rape apologists about their rights and the cruelty of social media!
Yes, you poor things. It’s true. The mean old FemiNazis are taking all your rights away. What next? Will we insist that we get to stick an object up your an*s, after drugging you? I mean, it’s all just fun. Gosh, a girl can’t even say hello, slip a boy a roofie and stick an object anywhere we please without a some guy freaking out about his rights. If you guys are going to insist on having rights, you can forget getting any attention from us! (Note: Always a good way to sort the good ones from the bad ones.)
Also, today at a press conference the lawyer for Michael Nodianos was very concerned regarding the alleged threats the “rape crew” are getting. The police have expressed their need to protect the families of the rape crew, as well (no word yet on how they intend to protect girls from the sociopaths they’re breeding). Heck, life is really tough. It has to be shocking to be the prey, eh? I mean, it’s not as if you could possibly understand that those girls who think they have the right to deny you the entitlement to stick whatever wherever would know anything about being prey every single day of their lives.
The things you rape apologists go through are heart-breaking. And now they’re saying mean things about your football team! Will it never end for you Great Bastions of Privilege? No one understands your pain.
The rape apologists are really ticked off at the meanies on social media who don’t like the soul-searingly sick things the rape crew did to a 16-year-old girl, which the “rape crew” shared on… social media. But we all know that a girl’s reputation is worthless anyway. She is a “whore” and “sloppy”. She is not a Great Football Player, nor does she have a “bright future” ahead of her of preying on the vulnerable. She is no one to be afraid of, let alone “respect”.
Listen, I can fix this all for the rape apologists. Just as they tell us not to leave the house without pepper spray and a Burqa, and warn us to mind our drinks if we leave the house because some very nice boy with a bright future might try to roofie us before he rapes us, and we wouldn’t want to ruin his future, now would we? So too, you who are Denied Privileges of sticking your fingers wherever must heed a few warnings.
If you roofie a girl, gang rape her, take pictures of it, urinate on her, and then cross state lines in order to dump her “dead” body on her parent’s lawn when you’re finished proving what great citizens you are, what “nice boys” you are, you might want to avoid tweeting and sharing your disgust with the victim for having the bad sense to do what you all were doing that same night.
Yes, Mr. Lawyer, I’m talking to you. “She was drunk… ” doesn’t actually translate into “She’s worthless, she asked for it, and she is a bad girl” like you think it does. Also, it’s looking like these young men may have roofied her, but hey, we get your gist. A girl drinking = concerned sadness over how she put herself in a bad situation; whereas boys drinking make “mistakes” like mocking the “dead girl” that got “so raped” on video. Their mistakes have the expectation of forgiveness (also known as “privilege”).
Privilege has its bennies. I mean, since when do we let girls go to parties and have a drink? RIGHT? Men can do that and not expect assault, but a 16 year old girl should know that animals without consciences abound. Take a drink at your own risk, girls.
But since rape apologists can’t rely on girls/women to know that they are entitled to girl’s/women’s bodies and to silence after the “rape crew” defiles them, here are a few hints for the rape apologists in order to avoid having the bad luck to experience what girls/women experience every day:
Do not video yourself gloating about rape.
Do not tweet your alleged disgust of your ex girlfriend who was just gang raped by your buddies.
Do not take pictures of your buddy sticking his fingers into a girl who appears “dead”. If you do, don’t claim you did it out of concern for the girl and then delete the pictures before the police collect the evidence.
Do not get angry that your reputation is being allegedly slandered after you stole a 16 year old girl’s reputation and humiliated her.
Do not worry so much about offenses to your entitlement in public. It makes you appear to be a sociopath.
Do not send your buddies online to attack anyone who mentions that rape is bad. It doesn’t sit well with those who still don’t realize that you are sociopaths.
Do not whine about how you don’t feel safe now that the world hates you, after you hated on a unconscious 16-year-old.
Until and unless you volunteer to be roofied and gang raped by a group of much larger men, and those pictures are shared with your family and friends, it’s best if you don’t complain too much about unfair media coverage.
After all, you started this whole thing.
Oh, and lastly, try not sticking your fingers or anything else anywhere you are not wanted, especially when you’re unclear if you’re wanted due to your victim being passed out. If you carried her around from party to party because she was so out of it that she couldn’t walk on her own, this is a clue that you do not have consent. Confused? Take a clue from the many boys and men who are not confused and just don’t do it when it’s obvious that your victim is unable to give consent.
As prevalent as our rape culture is, there are more men and boys who do NOT believe they have the right to abuse a girl/woman, and furthermore, they don’t have the desire to assault/harm/humiliate girls/women. Let’s call the rape apologists out and hold boys and men of good character up as examples. Real men don’t roofie, real men don’t rape, real men respect.
Stuebenville could use a Coach Taylor type right about now.
Note: Comments seeking to apologize for rape or shame anyone or anything other than the actions of the alleged perpetrators will be promptly thrown in the trash, in order for civilized people to have a discussion. It’s not the media’s fault or Anonymous’ fault that this happened. All of the fault lay with those who did it, those who planned it, those who gloated about it and those who watched and said nothing. The parents of these people must be treated as criminals the same as their kids. Any boy charged and put in jail really has to be accompanied by his dad. Parents need to learn the difference between football and rape, and letting them off from this wont help
This town is unbeleivable. But I wont say that is not typical. Big cities are no different and the girl will always lose

I don’t know about that.
In some cases, yes- but then, in some cases, the children are just bad apples that simply lack the capacity for compassion and caring.
A look at family history and character can go towards figuring out which it is, but that can be hard to judge accurately as well unless previous history involved law enforcement.

These punks were 16 years old. Still old enough for their parents to be responsible. If other parents start seeing men go to jail with their kids some things might change. Raise up a bad apple? Spend time with him for your failure

It isn’t All the parents fault. If it were, how would you explain people that have 4 kids and 3 are great but one is a trouble maker or criminal. Besides that, what if they do have 4 kids? If they go to jail, what about the other kids?
Parents many times are at least a part of it but I don’t think your solution is good.

Chris Rock has several great rants on why it’s the parents fault when kids need to go to jail…go listen to his “Bigger and Blacker” routine.
The “one bad seed” myth is merely a cop out for the emotionally neglected child within family dynamics. Most of the time, the “neglect” is due to mental/physical/being “different” issues of the “one” that are ignored, brushed under the table instead of faced by the parents. The parents in the Stubenville case are all about their veneer being pealed away; creating a happy family persona is more important to parents who defend bad behavior.
If the parent goes to jail, the kids will go to other relatives or foster homes…it’s the only solution.
Kids are removed from homes when parents fail.

Sometimes, one child either falls in with a bad lot, or is organically defective in ways we don’t fully understand. But I agree with SinghX that most frequently, either circumstances have changed in such a way that one child does not have the same chances as the others (e.g., parental unemployment or disability, with consequent downward mobility) or has been singled out for a special rôle: the “golden child” who can do no wrong, or the “leaden child” who can do no right. Sometimes, having one “bad seed” lets the family off the hook for the shortcomings of the others, so that the rest can pretend to be perfect.

We are a society, who has chosen to live together and we created rules to do so. In this society, everyone collectively is responsible for each other, it’s a society not a bunch of independent people. We are a collective.
If the parents of these kids were bad, society is partly to blame. If you keep resorting to jail everytime eventually in a few hundred years when morals have eroded entirely, everyone will be in jail. It’s more responsible to educate new citizens of society of the ethics and morals we demand they live by, than it is to put people in jail when they appear to being bad. These are societies rules, and not knowing them is societies fault. Ignorance is an excuse, and is societies fault. You can’t just throw the parents in jail. They didn’t know better. Society does know better. And society should be mandating teaching the ethics they expect you to abide by, in school.
Shiva (Moderator)
Jan. 9th, 2013 at 8:58 am
Actually you would hope the kids and parents would learn by example. Its only a failure of society if everyone is in jail as you note.
One would suspect that the parents would be teaching the morals required to get along in this society. But when that doesnt happen, then Stuebenville happens

Shiva, the problem is that they *are* imitating their parents and the martial culture in which they live. Otherwise the adult figures involved in this mess would be prosecuting the boys as a preemptive deflection of scrutiny if nothing else, not abusing their various positions of power to defend them, no?
Shiva (Moderator)
Jan. 9th, 2013 at 4:44 pm
Either that or they are rebelling against their parents values. I cant comment on the manner in which the parents treat women, but I doubt they have taught the kids that stuff.
Either way, if they are imitating the parents thats to me is just one more reason they should go to jail with the kids. JMHO of course

Who is raising him? Does he also giggle like that while torturing small animals? I watched the video and couldn’t figure out what was so funny. In my much larger school, I imagine he and his giggling camera friend would have had their heads in a toilet. His parents should be so ashamed. They raised him wrong to think it’s ok to joke like that about that poor girl.

Deb,
This guy is a jerk that has the “giggles” because he apparently has a cannabis buzz going. I wonder if this avenue was ever examined?
Crissa
Jan. 9th, 2013 at 5:52 pm
Laughter or giggling is not just something done out of politeness at humor – it is a physical response to stimuli.
Some people giggle from pain, surprise, nervousness, or fright. Oddly timed laughing signifies no particular emotion – other than the person is experiencing an unusual or significant amount of stress.
It could be the kid is a monster. Or it could mean he was drugged. Or it could mean he was experiencing stress from trying to perform to what he thought his peers expected.
Can’t tell without a series of examinations by a trained psychiatric professional (and remember to get a second opinion). It’s really frustrating to see an emotional response read as if it means something negative – just because said person wouldn’t express that way. ‘They had no remorse!’ (Why would an innocent person have remorse?) ‘They cried in the courtroom over the ruling’ (Crying is a normal response to despair or strong emotional release – just like giggling – and may not be either positive or negative) ‘They showed no emotion!’ (What emotion should they show? Disbelief, shock, powerlessness, remorse all could be expressed with an unusually neutral demeanor. Think of it as being in pain to the point of paralyzation.)
Not that I’m defending the kid here, the actions they partook in were abhorrent. But there’s no reason to go beyond the actions here.

This is what happens all the time, just these little towns get very little attention, the girls are forced to forget the rape and have to live with them thinking it was their fault. The boys go on to bigger and better things in these towns to repeat the behavior to women and pass that mentality on to there offsprings, it is time in America for rape to be taken serious!

Look, while I agree with then sentiment that some criminal’s parents are just as culpable as their spawn, if not more so, after familiarising myself with this whole story… just where in the heck were Jane Doe’s parents? Do they share any of the responsibility for letting their daughter associate with these kids?
I am absolutely not suggesting that her parents in any way “consented” to the dreadful event of that night, but gotta tell ya… as the father of a young girl myself, they sure look like they enabled it.

The girl was at a sleepover party with her parent’s permission. She left the sleepover to go to a party with Mays et al. You can’t blame her parents for what happened; they believed she was safe with her girl-friends. You can’t really blame the girl for leaving and going with Mays either. While she shouldn’t have left without permission, what teenager hasn’t done something similar? She was innocent and naive enough to believe he was a decent human being who wouldn’t hurt her. It’s tragic that in this world innocence and naivety can be ripped away so brutally.

How is it that just 2 are going to trial? What about the accomplices? Those that posted videos? At minimum, there have to be “Internet Crimes Against Children” charges given the many who videotaped the horror and posted over the internet. Surely this is an angle that can be pursued in order to bring the other scumbags to justice.

Also if they crossed state lines with an underage female for the purposes of sex, that can also give the Federal Government Jurisdiction over this case, if the Feds take the case over, they will test for Ruffies, and do any other thing possible to gather evidence. Unlike the Town, the Feds have big money for cases like this.

If a guy has a roll of dough and is flashing it around a bar, buying drinks and everyone including himself is getting drunk, fine. If the guy with the dough figures he’s had enough and it’s time to leave, fine again. If he staggers out into the alley, passes out with the money in his pocket or even his hand – WHAT BUNCH OF IDIOTS THINK IT’S OK TO STEAL HIS MONEY just so they can party on?
NO ONE, that’s who. The perps would be SO prosecuted and reviled no matter who they are!
But it’s OK to violate a woman’s body under any circumstances?
Get a major case of reality here. Stealing property from a man is BAD. Stealing the sanctity of a woman’s body is no big deal?
Whatever happened to our values? The guys with the wandering dongs are TOTALLY WRONG, EVIL, and MUST be prosecuted for rape. There is not a shred of defense to what they have done. None.

Shouldn’t blame the girl. I know from experience that sometimes we can be too trusting and get taken advantage of. Back when it happened to me, it wasn’t called rape because the girl was asking for it. Sixteen is at an age when you want acceptance and love but don’t know how to go about it.

Carol – you were not at fault. Looking for love is not wrong, and society does provide laws that allow you to invite intimacy without sex. You are entitled to that, especially at 16, and any man or teen who forced himself on you is vile, illegal, and disgusting. You are not. It is not your fault.
I spent time as a sexual assault victim advocate. NEVER met a woman who invited rape. Met LOTS of women who were interested in creating a relationship. The fact society has massively crossed the line and rears men who cannot hold themselves to standards is their fault, not yours.
Know every woman and certainly most of the men here on this site feel for your pain. We do not hold you at fault but DO hold you in our hearts. I’m so sorry that happened to you.

Interesting though that if she’s really such a slut, her ex-boyfriend is one of
the extended rape crew from a “nice family”, one with enough bucks to initiate a lawsuit against the blogger. So he’s a “nice boy” from a “good family” who had

Lest we forget in the months and years to come. The criminal charges are just one aspect of this story. The 12 minute video by misogynist Nodianos, according to Local Leaks, was recorded in the basement of Jake Howarth, one of the gang rape sites. Nodianos is taking time off from Ohio State and according to his attorney the OSU scholarship will be waiting for him when he returns. Howarth is still enrolled at Ashland University on scholarship. Good people everywhere need to make sure that these creeps do not return to schools on scholarships or otherwise because they already failed the test of being decent members of society by standing by and making fun of a helpless rape victim. Keep track of the consequences for all those concerned and make sure these Ohio universities are accountable for people they enroll.

Late last Friday night somehow my husband and I got into a discussion about Dean Martin. (I have to admit, I started singing “Everybody Loves Somebody Sometime” to the dog.) So, “How is Dean Martin an Italian?” He was born Dino Paul Crocetti. Was he from Jersey? No, he was from Steubenville, Ohio. Up until last month, he was the ONLY thing Steubenville, Ohio was known for.
Of course, I go off on Steubenville, and hubby has no clue what I’m talking about. I didn’t even get to the obnoxious testimony about the “promising careers” of the players by the coach that helped them play football all season long before he was begging me to “STOP! I DON’T NEED TO HEAR THIS!”
I made him listen. My husband is a gentle soul and disgusted by this but even at our age it needs to be discussed. I made him listen to what these kids said to each other about it:
“What if that was your daughter?” someone asked.
“But it isn’t,” the student said. “If that was my daughter, I wouldn’t care. I would just let her be dead.”
He went on to ask “is it really rape if you don’t know if she wanted to or not? She might have wanted it. That might have been her final wish.””
I think these boys and their daddies need to go on a Deliverance fishing trip. Being assaulted while passed out is too good for them. I want them to be aware of every single second of it, AND videotaped and humiliated for it. Squeal like a pig, boys, dads and coaches. Squeal like a pig.

REYNARDINE:
What makes you believe a man,boy capable of such an action would wait till the child was older?
Reynardine
Jan. 9th, 2013 at 4:11 pm
I can actually answer you that.
A baby or toddler who shows up in the emergency room with the inevitable perineal tears will occasion a criminal investigation in even a corrupt jurisdiction, and there is no consent defense. A child even marginally older might not be as grievously injured, and can in all events be shamed or threatened into shutting up, lying, or implicating someone else.
In a certain notorious child-murder case, at the time a toddler went missing, a man was busted on line for trying to procure sex from what he believed to be a mother and her three-year-old daughter. The mother, who was acquitted because forensics were mishandled and stale, a botched prosecution, and a couple of male jurors getting red-hot stiffies, had been spending money like a drunken sailor in the weeks after the toddler’s disappearance. The toddler getting grievous and tell-tale injuries which the mother dared not report could surely have been reason for chloroforming the daughter. Most perpetrators hesitate to go that far with a child who is likely to be missed; therefore, the perps wait till they’re a little bigger.

I really think the FBI should take this whole investigation over. How can a number of police officers accidentally delete correspondence off of cell phones? Are they that stupid? I don’t think so, I think they are corrupt and had marching orders. The whole town stinks. The good people of that town should send around a petition to have the FBI investigate all people in power and clean house. Don’t take no for an answer. If the FBI doesn’t do it, you must. The whole world is behind you. We are all very angry at what is taking place in your community and we want the best for the victim, you and your families. God Bless.

What makes me angry is that a number of people have reported that when police came to collect phones and such from the school, all the people involved were allowed to collect them unsupervised.
Sooo.. They could have just gone to their locker and deleted everything?
This is absolute basic officer training. Never let someone wander around alone with evidence! They could destroy it, they could even do a runner. It’s idiocy.

I remember being that age and drinking too much but when someone passed out there was great concern because of course alcohol is toxic.
Attempts were made to revive them and a keep a ‘concerned’ eye on them if the recovered consciousness, if not an ambulance was called just in case.
The thought of exploiting a drunk friend was never ever considered, they are a friend, the only concern was about their health.
Seriously a person has lost consciousness and there is zero worry they might die from a drug overdose and yes people most readily do die from excess alcohol consumption, now that to me indicates a very wide group of socially diseased individuals.

Welcome to “Rape Culture” everyone. The culture where women who want control over their own reproduction are sluts; the culture where what we wear or say or do (or don’t do) is why some young ” stud” felt it was his right to take what he wanted, because after all, at the end, somehow it was the “slut’s fault”.
Two possible cures exist: First, teach your sons not to rape, and second, expose those who commit these crimes and show them there will be lifelong consequences for what they’ve done.

Seriously, these boys have to be held accountable for THEIR actions. If we continue to fight over who was to blame here, other than the boys who did this, we’re just letting them get away with their bad actions or at the least, we’re dispersing some of their responsibility to other parties, and these boys KNOW they were wrong. They thought they could get away with it because they are the demi-gods of Steubenville, yes, but they knew it was wrong. So let’s keep the blame on the people who did the action and not someone who “might” have yelled at their child once too often or whacked them across their bottom once or twice when they were growing up. Parents are not with their children 24/7, and even so-called good kids do stupid when with their peers. You did not? The blame is with the boys who did the deed, not the parents who were not even there. Instead, ask about a culture that says, “She deserved it.” My question in this whole thing is, Why did not one person call 911 and report this as it was going on, anonymously? Do our kids now have a culture that says this type of behavior is okay?

I am a mother of 2 boys. I asked my oldest the other day about this case, and we watched some things together. I asked what he would’ve done if his friends, or even strangers at a party were doing things like these boys did. He replied Mom, I would’ve called you from jail, because I would’ve beat them half to death.
So many people “turn their heads” when they see things happening it’s disgusting. You mean to tell me at all these parties, nobody thought to help this poor girl? Or were they just parties where only “The Rape Crew” were there…..
It breaks my heart for this poor girl, and all involved need to be punished, including any parents that think the kids should get off with nothing. If this were one of my sons, I would deliver them to jail myself.

A 16 year old is old enough to be held responsible for their actions. Don’t blame the parents. They purchased alcohol and drugs then raped and humiliated this young woman. Now they should pay the consequences. They can be tried as adults for there horrible actions.
Reynardine
Jan. 10th, 2013 at 12:34 am
The boys can be tried as adults, and they should be, but the parents were in most cases enablers and in some accessories. In the former case they may be civilly liable; in the latter, also criminally culpable.

On the “punish the parents” train of thought: I know someone personally who has perpetrated sexual assaults against multiple girls and women (no, I do not keep company with this piece of work or call him a friend). He has always gotten away with it. There is no way in Hades that his single mother is responsible for what he has done, and to punish her would be nothing short of adding to the victim count.
Shiva (Moderator)
Jan. 12th, 2013 at 7:38 pm
Of course it would. There are points where the one parent can not be totally responsible. But in the case of a minor, and one who has 2 parents, I think the father should be held accountable as well as the kid. Cause there is a good chance a 15 year old would get off from the charges

It was a good rant right up to the point you complained about the family complaining about death threats.
Regardless of the the cretins did, the families don’t deserve death threats. We don’t punish the parents because their children do stupid heinous things. That’s why it’s called individual freedoms.
It’s very possible for parents to try to teach their children right and wrong, and to respect others and yet still have that child do something wrong. You can’t control your children all the time, especially when the children are not really children anymore. They are young adults.
And yes, I imagine those families are standing by their children. Because that’s what families do. They believe the best of them, give them the benefit of the doubt, even forgive them when they do really stupid, ugly terrible things.
They will go through the system and be found guilty or not. The justice system will take care of it. It’s not necessary for the local vigilantes to run amok and cause further damage.
And just because I expect a society to be civil and live up to our expectations doesn’t mean I don’t care the for victim. She is going to have a hard road to travel. I hope she gets the support she needs from both the town and her family when she needs it the most.
Those supporting the men are entitled to their opinions. They are not entitled to denigrate the girl. No one is entitled to make threats to anyone.

The parents who are catching shit for this are not the slightest bit innocent. They knew about the rape and tried to cover it up. One is a cop and another is a prosecutor. There’s no excuse for that. If found out that my boy raped a girl, I’d beat his ass then bring him to the cops myself, especially if he expected me to ruin my own life to cover for him. These parents are supremely stupid at best.

The state to which you are alluding is one in which I lived for four years, nearly four decades back. Before I say what I’m going to say, I do NOT want to hear even a single word questioning whether I support rape or not: my MOTHER was raped and I spend every day of my life trying to control my anger and outrage over that. So more than many of you, I have reason to destroy the rape culture.
Now to my point: I suspect that Shiva (moderator) is correct, and that this comment is complete bullshit. Note: “suspect”. That means it’s my opinion, and of course my opinion could be wrong. But given that I have over thirty years of experience dealing with online fraud, scams, phishers, spammers, hucksters and the like, my senses are fairly well tuned.
It would be very interesting to know the first three octets of the IP address from which that was posted.
RB
Jan. 9th, 2013 at 11:17 pm
Well. It’s always nice to be proven correct, but in this case I would have preferred to be wrong: the actions of the “rape crew” that we are aware of strongly suggest that they were confident and comfortable documenting their own crimes. That in turn suggests that it wasn’t their first time. And that in turn suggests that there are more victims. (So strongly that I’ll be very surprised indeed if there aren’t.)
I hoped to be wrong and to find out that this really was one of them coming forward. But (and I don’t wish to be any more specific than this) multiple clues in the message indicated that it was fake, which is of course why I labeled it “bullshit”. And now we see that it is.
What is not bullshit, though, is the evidence that was put in front of the public by the “rape crew” (what a hideous name) themselves. They PUBLISHED it, so let’s not have any nitpicking about whether it was hacked. There was no need for anyone to hack it. No doubt there’s a great deal more evidence waiting to be found, and I sincerely hope the feds are all over it. (Certainly local authorities have already demonstrated their incompetence and can’t be trusted to do an effective job of it.)
And because I think that Jane Doe #2 and Jane Doe #3 and maybe more are out there…my heart goes out to them, as I know they’re observing all this and wondering what to do. I hope they find strength and good advice.

I have been a lawyer for almost 30 years, starting first as a prosecutor and then as a defense attorney. The problem with many criminal cases, not to mention tort cases, contract cases and other types of cases, is that the real stories of honest people–especially victims of violent crimes–rarely are without flaws. The only persons whose stories about flow flawlessly from their lips are con men and hucksters.
I don’t know whether Jane Doe #2 is telling the truth or not, but to immediately mock and attack her as you do Shiva makes you about as despicable as any of the Steubenville rape apologists. Please resign as moderator and/or admit that you are really the cruel Kali, goddess of the Thugees, and not Shiva at all.

it does sound negative. sounds like disbelief. On other websites I have seen postings and video disclosures from others about the rape crew. And when i viewed the micheal nodiano video rant about the ‘dead girl’ it struck me that he and others on that post were so brazen, that it likely was not the first time they had done this, AND GOTTEN AWAY WITH IT. In hindsight, maybe that is WHY they were so brazen about it, because getting away with gang rape was par for the course. It makes sense that a doubtful, shaming response is key to ensuring that it will continue. what do you think?

Gangs of privilege- frat boys, athletic teams, certain military units- do repeat and escalate their crimes. Filming this incident was an escalation. Left unpunished, it’ll go further. Will you believe it when they puncture a victim’s intestines and rip her uterus out? Indeed, that’s out there as a benchmark for them now.

Though I have known of such cases (such as my Ex Friend from Hell), they are people with gross psychiatric problems. If this person is simply outside of Ohio, I point out that at this time of year, many people travel. If the point of origin is, say, a men’s prison or a frathouse, you’d have done better either to say so or not post the comment in the first place. Even if this post were to prove fictitious, it is rather more damaging to respond as you have done without stating a compelling reason than to take one of the above courses of action. This kind of public response, whether the complaint is genuine or false, is calculated to deter real victims.

I wish you success with your own personal healing. And all the success in getting those responsible brought to justice.

every one on this thread knows that educators are mandatory reporters in every state. of course the assistant coach is responsible.

I highly recommend the book LUCKY by ALICE SEBOLD, written before the lovely bones. She was a victim of rape in college. It is her account of how she never let up and they finally brought her rapist to justice. Read LUCKY by ALICE SEBOLD.

The author of that article managed to confound two issues. When a trial is actually pending, it can be vitiated by a media circus. These protests and demonstrations, however, are not about finding a particular person guilty or innocent. They are rather a demand for a complete and impartial investigation, without fear or favor, and a trial of whomever probable cause indicates. Because of her failure to comprehend this, the author’s conclusions were pointless at best.
Sceptical?

This article is bloody brilliant. I want to take a sec to say that I agree with the comment about a wide array of socially diseased populace. There is something very wrong. I read a post somewhere with someone saying she is a whore!! She is known for this behavior!! Well, I don’t care if she sleeps with everyone in Stupidville, I mean Steubenville,3 times a day six days a week. If she says NO on Sunday then IT MEANS NO!!!! I also believe parents need to be held accountable. Yes there are instances where a child cannot help what they do. This is not the case here. these are fully functioning people (I know bear with me, I take great liberty with that label) they knew what they were doing. There little social media bragging and bashing stints have proven that. They didn’t give a shit. So I in turn do not give a shit about them. We are so very, very quick to scream about the perpetrators rights, woes and sorrows in this country. That is everywhere. Look what is happening in Knoxville with Channon Christian and Chris Newsom’s killers. Read what happened to them if you can stomach it. Then tell me if one of the peoplemtherebthat witnessed it all, even with no physical evidence other than a confession to being the when it all went down, should get a chance at freedom??? If you’d see something like that it is your duty at the most base human level to help. To intervene. To call police. If you don’t then off to jail, with your ass. There are always going to be crimes, I am afraid boys and girls. But what changes things, what brings about a betterment of mankind is your decency.

It disgusts me how the lawyers are portraying these kids as “good people.” The fact that once their now sober and we the people are watching they are apologetic. I believe when your drunk you do speak truthfully to a certain extent and they took it way too far. When your conscious of your movements, speeches and actions you and only you should be responsible. Just because they are a part of a small town with a big fan based football team doesn’t make them any better than a kid who’s in band class. The fact that the coaches and lawyers are trying to sweep this topic under the rug is ruthless, it shows how far we as people have come. Even if we are not directly involved we do have our voice. They should be jailed for 10+ years, it doesn’t matter if your underage. Rape is rape.

Some of you are right. None of what I wrote was real. I don’t live anywhere close to Steubenville. Yet pictures of these comments and rumors of a Jane Doe #2 are already being reposted on Twitter. This was just to prove a point that people are will to accept anything, no matter how stupid, as fact just because it appears on the Internet and also just how ravenous and bloodthirsty people are getting towards those RUMORED to be involved. How is anything we are doing any better than what some of those boys posted on Twitter and Instagram that night? There are no hard facts that anyone but the two boys charged took part in the “rape” that night other than speculation and gossip but people are getting as much joy from tormenting them as the boys did teasing the rape victim online that night. I think everyone needs to take one big step away from this case and take a good hard look in the mirror. Anonymous and the online communities part in all this is over; the world knows about it. Let the state investigators and prosecutors do their job.

If the site admin truly cares about the truth, they should release the server logs for this user and let Anonymous do their thing.
FYI: there were at least 4 people involved in that one photo alone. The two already charged are just the ones who were seen holding the victim. There’s a third person visible on the edge of the shot, and a fourth behind the camera. We can also be certain that some of the parents were involved in trying to keep it quiet. One of the parents is a county prosecutor, and another is a cop.

Making false claims of rape IS a crime, and a serious one at that.
Anonymous didn’t record Michael Nodianos bragging about rape. Anonymous didn’t post it all on the internet(the first time). Michael Nodianos made Michael Nodianos infamous, and nobody else.
If you want to talk about getting a life, you’re the worthless sack of shit making up rape hoaxes.

I suggest you let this be well enough and just scoot along now. You have an opinion, others have an opinion. Neither you nor them know who is truly responsible. As you dont even live near Steubenville I would ask that you just move along

My “dirty laundry” has no comparison to that of “Rape Crew” because I’m not a disgusting piece of shit. You try to talk big, assuming that I have things to be ashamed of. You must think that everyone has something to hide because you’re such a scum-sucking slug that you can’t imagine that there’s anyone much better than you. Not everybody is like you.
Substantiated claims against Rape Crew and company: Rape, accessory to rape, conspiracy to rape, giving alcohol to minors, underage drinking, poisoning, possession of controlled substances, production of child pornography, possession of child pornography, distribution or child pornography, invasion of privacy.
Substantiated claims against you: Libel, misrepresentation, assuming a false identity, false allegations of a crime, being a worthless piece of shit.
(That’s without even knowing who you are. I can’t imagine what I’d learn about you if I had the misfortune of getting to know you.
Substantiated claims against me: None.

Jane Doe 2, I don’t know whether to call you a prick or a cunt, so I will just say, you worthless little prunt, it’s people like you who utterly vitiate the justice system. So far, you have not been under oath, so you are technically not a perjuror. But when the innocent are punished, the guilty set free, the perpetrators awarded damages, abusers given child custody, it is perjury that has done it. I will not say what fate I wish on them. Just…you and your ilk stay out of my way, or that of anyone who has ever taken the integrity of the justice system seriously.

No one supports what these guys did. On any level. But what you posted was unnecessary. Rumors are just that. Rumors. These guys will not be hurt by rumors.
There has not been one person here to my knowledge that speaks ill of the girl. You should have saved your BS for the people that do that.
You do not know what the prosecutors know.

You ought to be ashamed of yourself for what you have posted. Seriously, crap like the stuff you posted makes it harder for rape cases to be prosecuted and it makes actual rape victims not want to report what happened to them because they are afraid they will not be taken seriously. You did nothing but make yourself look like a total self centered idiot.

She was only drunk because she was fed alcohol laced with rohypnol, so she can hardly be blamed for that.

Dear Stubenville
Maybe all the residents of Stubenville who care about this issue and this victim should
A: Stop Frequenting the businesses owned by the families that are continuing to cover up this crime or to push the limits of eligible prosecution so their children can get away with Rape.
B: Call, Call, Call & Call every news radio show, every TV station, email every blogger and every town council member until something is done
C: Begin a petition for a recall vote on all members of the town council
D: Demand all personal financial records for all Town Council, all campaign contributions and personal relations to the families attempting the cover up
E: Openly refuse to perform any further commerce within the town city limits until all those responsible, suspects and witnesses surrender all their electronic devices, Social Media accounts and passwords to special investigators provided for the case
F: Make sure that the neighboring High schools who compete against your football team refuse to play them until the investigation has included EVERYONE involved
G: Insist that all the families who provided the homes for these parties surrender to authorities and be formally charged for Promoting the Delinquency of a Minor, Providing Alcohol to a Minor, Promoting a Dangerous environment for a Minor, Facilitating a Rape, Facilitating the spreading of Child Pornography, Causing a disturbance in the area and dragging the name of your town through the mud.
You should remember that you are NOW officially the second thing that comes to mind when speaking of rape and abuse towards a minor, right behind Jerry Sandusky and Penn State.
Tell them you will not forget
Promise them you will not Forgive
Explain to them you insist on Justice
& By ALL MEANS REMIND THEM THEY SHOULD HAVE EXPECTED ALL OF US TO BE DISGUSTED!!!!

Jane Doe number 2 is probably one of those scumbags that is part of the “Rape Crew” Seriously you are a terrible person and do not even deserve an opinion. I am not a rev. or even really that religous so I am saying that I think all of these kids should rot in jail and then after death, rot in Hell. Total scum of the Earth punks. If I had a chance I’d beat these kids myself.

Not taking sides here but wasn’t our judicial system founded on “innocent until proven guilty”. our country has taken the stance of vigilantism these past few years, angry mobs, and people so engulfed in cases that they stand in line to watch and make sure some one is found guilty no matter how long it takes. Then cops get turned into bad guys for doing their job. I wonder if one of your kids were one of the accused you would feel the same way..and don’t even think it would not happen, I am sure these kids parents thought the same thing.

If you & your friends do something like this and video tape yourselves talking ( bragging and laughing ) about what you’ve done, then post it for the whole world to see, you and your friends are a special kind of stupid. You guys implicated yourselves and found it to be pretty funny, so you, not the public showed the world that you have no character to question. You guys cared less about that girls character that night. If you did the crime then shut up and do the time.

Wahhhh….poor little babies got their little feelings hurt. I’m so sad about it. You want to brag about having such a nickname as the “Rape Crew” and then whine because most people hate you for it, well, you deserve it!

YOU GO SARAH JONES….Finally someone gets to the heart and soul of this whole disgusting subject!!! Thinking that they are victims of this crime b/c their characters are being attacked…I think I’m going to be sick….you are disgusting, narcissist, egotisical, worthless human beings who DO NOT and WILL NOT ever be looked at again, in a different light other than this…

Great article, kudos!!
It doesn’t & shouldn’t matter what this 16 yr old girl’s “reputation” is.. If you’re the biggest whore in town, again just making a point, NO ONE has the right to drug you, let their friends rape you, carry your literally lifeless body party hoppin, so everyone can get a piece, piss on you– come on, the pissin’ ALONE is abhorent.. who the fuck do these dipshits think they are? Very low brow, low IQ; is there a nuclear facility or toxic dump perhaps near Steubenville? I am hopeful for this young woman, that when the dust has settled, she will find comfort in the fact that people from all corners of this country have rallied behind her, & given this issue a voice. She will get over this. I pity her assailants & everyone who was ANYwhere within earshot that night.

So glad to hear that some of the people involved have said they are sorry and it was a bad thing to do. Good for you to take some type of responsibiity. It will also help you to recover in your emotional therapy.
Having said that, you still should and will suffer the consequences.

Whatever these perpetrators and their many enablers are going through, they brought all of it on themselves. The perpetrators have put this girl through hell, and their enablers are doing all they can to minimize the enormity of all the crimes that were committed against her in the commission of the rapes–like getting her intoxicated and kidnapping her. For so long, rape victims have been made to feel like THEY were the ones who committed crimes in the way that defense attorneys raked them over the coals in court. Anyone who still thinks the women’s rights movement has outlived its usefulness is living under a rock, because incidents like these as well as the dangerously ignorant commentary coming from the likes of Akin and Gingrey are proof that we still have work to do.

I havn’t much to add, other than that I’m glad Australia doesn’t have this weird fixation on high school sport that the US has. In Australia, extra curricula sport is usually begrudgingly coached by whatever teacher drew the short straw. Our athletes have to wait until they are professionals before their coaches, fans and law enforcement will cover up their sexual assaults on drunk minors.

Kent State University’s newspaper Daily Kent Stater is censoring comments and the # of hits their report on RAPE SUSPECT and potential scholarship recipient is getting. Take a look.
kentwired.com/kent-state-...
Looks like, they too, want to sweep this crime under the rug because they want him on their wrestling team. A full ride scholarship for a rapist/rape conspirator/purgerer on the dimes of the Ohio taxpayer and the tuition of the law abiding student of KSU. How nice!

Kent State University, their newspaper The Daily Kent Stater and Kent.Patch.com are all censoring commentary on the issue that Charlie Keenan will be receiving a full scholarship to the university next fall. Look’s like they are bowing to pressure from Keenan and Hanlin’s attorney, even though part of the rape took place at his home. Maybe Hanlin just made a big fat donation to the school. Seems like your entitled, spoiled, criminal, sexual offending children can do as they please as long as you have the money to cover it up, like Hanlin does. Just like she shielding him from prosecution in this case and also in the case of the vandalism at the Steubenville golf course Charlie Keenan partook in. They even paid for the damages with school booster fundraiser money.
