Reality Kicks Republicans in the Groin as Romney Concedes
Mitt Romney finally took the stage in Boston to let Republicans know that the delusion is dead. The anger got them nothing, and it was time for the nation to move on.
Watch here:
Romney wished the best for Obama and his family. He called Paul Ryan a great choice, and said Ann would have made a great first lady. Romney also called for Republicans to reach across the aisle and work with President Obama. Romney said he still believes in his principles, but the nation chose another leader, and he and Ann prayed for nation and Obama’s success.
This was a big, generous speech. If Romney would have sounded more like this speech, he might have had a chance to win. Romney gave the perfect concession speech. He came out and told Republicans that it was all over. These remarks were short, and they were decent. The pressure was finally off Romney, and if he could have spoken with this sort of authenticity, he might have made a better race out of this election.
What Romney also did was kick the Republicans straight in the groin. He avoided much of the right’s delusion, and told his party to wake up. Republicans now will promptly throw Mitt Romney under the bus and blame him for the loss.
The reality is that the Republican Party has to change. Mitt Romney was too weak as a candidate to lead a political party that has become a zoo, but he delivered the right message tonight.
My guess is that the Republican Party will ignore him, and it.

He showed much more class in his concession speech than he did during the course of the entire presidential race. It might have been very different if he hadn’t been such a horrible campaign.

He called Paul Ryan a great choice, and said Ann would have made a great first lady.
Well, neither of those is true, but . . .
What Romney also did was kick the Republicans straight in the groin. He avoided much of the right’s delusion, and told his party to wake up.
That’s right, Republicans — wake up and GET CONTROL OF YOUR PARTY.
GET CONTROL OF YOUR PARTY — make it the party it once was, when it believed in the abolition of slavery, the preservation of the Union, and limited involvement in foreign affairs.
GET CONTROL OF YOUR PARTY — make the party that TRULY believes in individual rights, not the one that wants to discriminate based on race, immigration status, gender, or sexual preference.
GET CONTROL OF YOUR PARTY — the party it was before it was hijacked by the Dixiecrats in the 60s, the Immoral Minority in the 80s, the neocons and their media mouthpieces in the 90s, and the teabaggers in the 2000s . . .
GET CONTROL OF YOUR PARTY — there are reasonable, centrist, willing to compromise Republicans out there . . . THEY need to be heard from more, and the teabagging firebrands like Walsh, McConnell, Ryan, and Bachmann need to be pushed out of the picture.
GET CONTROL OF YOUR PARTY — or, watch it go the way of the Whigs . . .
.

The biggest thing the retros need to do is break off from the evangilistic churches who demand they ignore contraception, women’s rights, denounce gay people, and pay homage to intelligent(?) creation among other things.

Of course Romney did not mean it.
IF he truly was a man capable of meaning either what he actually said in the speech, or even of just being the decent human being he almost appeared to be while making that speech, then HE WOULD HAVE DEMONSTRATED THOSE CHARACTERISTICS THROUGHOUT THE CAMPAIGN !
You do NOT act like a psychopathic malignant narcissist through out an entire campaign and then suddenly show what a great human being you are ONLY when you lose!
Mitt Romney “acted” his way through a speech written for him and basically lied ( in order to look human ) because he knows how to lie, feels comfortable lying and is willing to lie anywhere, anytime, it is IN HIS PERSONAL FAVOR TO DO SO.
And in fact, his speech and the way he delivered it was NOT all that great, all that decent or human.
It was much more decent and human than we are used to when we observe Romney and THAT is why it appeared so more decent an human than it really was i.e. it was SO UNEXPECTED COMING FROM HIM !

To all you arrogant wig-wearing Republi-kooks who, for two years, spewed your nastiness against women and gays and non-Christians and people of color, who reared your ugly heads up like venomous cobras thinking you earned the right to your racism and bigotry promising to use your guns to take back a country that belongs to ALL of us and not just a select hate-filled few…. This BUD’S for you! Good riddance!

Voter Fraud! Voter Fraud!!
I want a recount! I DEMAND a recount!
Where’s the Supreme Court when you really need them?!
Come on, fellow conservatives, we’ve denied climate change. We’ve denied class warfare. We’ve denied racism whilst we openly employed it! We’ve denied science! We’ve denied facts!!
Surely, we can deny that Obama “won” this race. Let’s tote our guns and go protest in front of the Supreme Court! Let’s not leave until they install another Republican president!! They should install a Republican president at least once every ten years!!

They will ignore him, but lets face it, in order for the GOP to become acceptable to women and minorities they will have to be liberals.

I’m hoping he self deports and take his repulsive family with him. Claiming to love America was the biggest lie this man has spoken. His actions and business practices tells another story and shows the world the true Romney.
Good riddance I say.

Romney and Ryan, they will be back…
And so will the evangelicals, they still want to see the “soul of the country” saved and will not stop just because they were sided this time.
Just like they never stoped after the Scopes Monkey trial, they are still trying to limit evolution teaching, that is why they are all out for charter schools (in AZ anyway).
In Texas the dept of ed have acquired new texts that have limited evolution and has slowly been intituted while the rest of us were not paying attention.
In Az they want to do totally away with the dept of Education, presumably to get more control of texts and curriculum.
They will be back with vengeance…

Romney knew he had no recourse in Ohio courts because of their existing laws, and the Federal courts will not take the case because they have no grounds to proceed. He knew he was toast when Husted, went home early. Couldn’t get the voting machines rigged in enough districts. There were a few machines that flipped the votes, but seem to be taken off line when caught by observant voters. And, Ann probably told him not to continue because they can make more money thru tax evasion. He’ll probably go back to Bain to continue his rampage.
