Comments on: Religious Extremism Breeds Violence and Extremism

The basis of the freedom of religion or lack thereof is what this country is founded on even extremes are allowed their views. BUT when those views are thought to be superior to others and they breed into evil actions in order to promote that “superiority” that’s when problems arise. I recently read of an elected judge here in Texas who made statements that if Obama is re-elected a civil war is going to break out and that he will do what he needs to, (i.e. military?) or maybe he said militia would be called upon. This same judge later said he was merely talking out loud of “possibilities and that probably nothing would happen.” Learning of this worried me and hearing of other such note worthy Anti-American threats make these possibilities very real. What then should we do to combat these evil mongers and protect our future? Vote for President Obama and be prepared to fight.

Let me just say that after going to a Christian church for more than 20 years, I grew up and learned about my religious upbringing. This was my choice and I am not berating anyone’s belief. I respect those who respect others, and that’s why I am an atheist.

I have not read the bible recently but I seem to remember a paragraph (in Matthew I think) that says those that go around saying they are christians, are not, and they will get no reward in heaven. Those that do not promote their christianity but do good works for others quietly are the true christians and will get their reward in heaven.
