At this point, a Vote for a Republican is an Endorsement of Election Fraud
Republicans are at it again. This time, a man from Pennsylvania was arrested in Virginia after he dispensed with some voter registration forms.
According to Ryan J. Reilly of Talking Points Memo,
The investigation of 23-year-old Colin Small began when he was spotted throwing a folder of voter registration forms in a dumpster behind the shopping center where he works.
Prosecutors charged him with four counts of destruction of voter registration applications, eight counts of failing to disclose voter registration applications and one count of obstruction of justice.
According to several reports, Small worked for a company called Pinpoint. According to the New York Times, Small had previously worked for Strategic Allied Consulting. Pinpoint was a subcontractor to Strategic Allied Consulting.
Yes, the Strategic Allied Consulting that is owned by longtime Republican “strategist” Nathan Sproul. This is the same Strategic Allied Consulting that was embroiled in similar conduct in Florida and the Republican Party said they were firing because they don’t tolerate Election Fraud.
This is the same Nathan Sproul who was paid millions of dollars in previous elections to provide similar services.
Republican Party of Virginia Chairman Pat Mullins said that he was “alarmed by the allegations” and that Small was “fired immediately” when the allegations surfaced. “The Republican Party of Virginia will not tolerate any action by any person that could threaten the integrity of our electoral process,” Mullins said.
Right. Where have we heard that before?
The fact that Small was charged is some consolation. However, in the eyes of those who make the decision to engage in systematic election fraud, Small and others like him are just casualties in their war against the vote. Perhaps there will be some more Colin Smalls and more shell companies “fired” by State and National Officials of the Republican Party. Perhaps there will be more statements of zero tolerance for election fraud and assurances that this is an isolated incident.
I’m reminded of a previous time, with a previous president, albeit with a very different problem. When we first heard about Abu Graib, then President Bush “assured” us that the torture in that prison was an “isolated incident” committed by “a few bad apples.” Eventually, we learned about the Torture Memos, and the wide spread torture. To this day, they are still referring to that program as “enhanced interrogation techniques.”
Let’s get back to the republican crime du jour: election fraud. Maybe another of Sproul’s numerous shell companies may go down, only to be replaced by another one. Sproul will continue to profit from election fraud and Republicans will continue to protest that they really don’t tolerate election fraud.
The problem doesn’t end with Nathan Sproul. Republican officials at the state level are doing all they can to suppress the vote. Jon Husted, fought to the Supreme Court in an effort to restrict early voting in Ohio. When that didn’t work, he cut the hours during which Early Voting will be available. Rick Scott and his henchman in Florida utilized purge lists, as well repressive voter ID laws; restrictions on voter registration drives. Other states, including Wisconsin and Pennsylvania established repressive new Voter ID laws, though the courts struck them down.
In addition, the Tea Party’s True to Vote group is out there establishing its own purge lists, and promising to intimidate voters in Democratic strongholds across the country.
Then, of course, there are the voting machines in which the Romney family has both a political and financial stake. No appearance of a conflict of interest there right?
This will continue unless all those involved in the decision making process are held accountable. Actually, not only will it continue, it will get worse should Republicans be given the opportunity. At this point, I can only see a vote for a Republican candidate as a tacit endorsement of election fraud and voter suppression, in addition to the Republicans’ attacks on everything that doesn’t benefit the 1%.
There are so many reasons to throw these people out. Their involvement in election fraud is one of the more serious reasons. It isn’t the only reason. It isn’t even the only serious reason.

How quickly Acorn fraud is forgotten. Try comparing the number of D’s caught to R’s caught. You may be surprised, but considering this site, maybe not.

Only a couple ACORN people were prosecuted. The rest of the situation was a put up deal by the jerk breitbart
Already there are more people implicated in this GOP scandal then were in ACORN.

The sad part is that there are probably 40 more people just like him, doing the same thing. How can this continue to happen? Somebody is not doing their job.STOP THE ELECTION if this fraud cannot be controlled. This is outrageous !!! We can’t just sit back and do nothing.

This has been happening since I can remember. Bush being elected because of the electoral votes he earned in Florida was a farce. After the fact, it was found that high-level executable programs were found on the hard drives of the electronic voting machines in many districts in Florida well after the drives were supposed to be wiped clean. There was plenty more conflict of interest there as well, but since it was years later that they were found and Gore had already conceded, no action was taken…

The hypocrisy is that when these tools are caught, the R’thuglican Party officials all come out claiming they do not tolerate voter fraud. The problem with these factuous denials, is that these tools they hire are trained and told exactly what to do and how to do it. They may fool their dumbed down believers/supporters, but noone with an iota of intelligence believes their bs. Why is Nathan Sproul not in jail? I gather from this article he’s still walking around free, probably figuring out his next voter fraud scheme/scam. Is the DOJ on this?

One person commit a crime and they are blaming the complete GOP. What a farce. What is it called when Obama didn’t want the military to vote? Isn’t that a crime? Vote him out of office, he is completely useless and a liar. Romney/Ryan 2012

Actually, it’s not one person, if you bothered to read the entire article. There have been numerous incidents of voter fraud connected with THE company the Republican PARTY hired to register voters. Each incident that took place involved the destruction or disposal of Democratic voter registrations, purges of registered Democratic voters, laws to restrict voting that disproportionately affect groups that tend to vote Democratic, or flat out refusal to register non-Republicans. Add that to the conflict of interest where the Romney family owns voting machines, and we’ve got a serious problem with the entire Republican party. The individuals within the party are not standing up to fight against this stuff, so they are also complicit by association, whether you like it or not.
And when did Obama oppose the military vote? I assume you’re talking about the Ohio vote, in which case you are again highly misinformed. Obama didn’t want to restrict the military vote, he simply opposed the Republicans trying to change the early vote by taking eligible days away from everybody else. The military vote would have been completely unaffected, except that when Republicans lost, they retaliated by taking those extra voting days away from everyone, including the military. So, you want to spew your nonsense some more? At least know what you’re talking about first so you don’t look like an ignorant fool.

The FACT that Ken Cucenelli, the Attorney General of Virginia WILL NOT investigate and prosecute this CRIME and other CRIMES by REPIGS, shows they are complicit. Many of these officials like Cuckoo and Husted of Ohio need to be IMPEACHED and INDICTED, for Voter Fraud and Conspiracy to Commit Voter Fraud.
The Romneys owning voting machines is COMPLETELY INSANE – this must be stopped or we are over as a country.

Anne
Oct. 21st, 2012 at 7:33 am
ACORN was NOTHING like these folks. They actually did report voter registration fraud, and were brought down by the lies of the far right, which wanted to eliminate a reliable source of registering voters who tend to vote for Democrats. This is part of a coordinated effort, which includes voter intimidation, restrictive voting ID laws, purging of legal voters from lists, and now fools like the idiot above who have been destroying registration forms. This is all the doing of Republicans. Seeing how regressive this party has become, and seeing how they will stop at nothing to win, anyone who votes for them is part of the problem now.

What is with this situation, the VA attorney general is not going to investigate!!! This man had done the same thing in other states and changed the name of his company in VA because his other company had been caught, all on the advice of Priebus. This man needs to go to prison for conspiracy to commit fraud on the American people. Acorn was thoroughly investigated, can anyone tell how many cases were found to be fraudulent. The only thing I know about are a couple of signatures on sheets for Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse (who will never vote) things are so bad with the republicans, international monitors are being considered – that is what the repubs have brought us to.

Folks – it is time now to read the article in FORBES

Is there anyone who has a petition for paper ballots in the battleground states, we need to get this sorted!

As Democrats, we need to focus on Republican “news” sources and hold them accountable for spreading untrue information. Seems to me that a big piece to this misinformation comes from these sources. I have a lot of republicans friends. They are good people. But they believe everything they see and hear from these “news” sources. Hold these sources accountable and see how fast a lot of this misinformation goes away. Sounds like its time to pull some licenses to me.
As for the election fraud, its nothing new. However that doesn’t excuse this type of behavior. As long as people are involoved in the process, have access to or ability to gain access. There will be some level of fraud. Monkey see, monkey do…. Holds true for most of us. If we see someone get away with questionable behavior, some of us are likely to try for our selves the questionable behavior. I think Obama’s been on the level of most issues. But as he is a politician, I’m sure there are skeletons in his closet too. But with that said, I think he and his administration have done a pretty good job overall. You should all take a step back and decide for yourselves if you agree and then VOTE! ( hope mine will be counted for Obama)

At my age I have never seen so much corruption in the election process. MITT is a scumbag. He’s had six years to setup this rouse a.k.a. buying voting machines and transferring ownership to his son in a known battle ground state and buried it in corporate paperwork so nobody will ever have any prove of a conflict of interest. If you can’t do things legally don’t do it at all. VOTE FOR OBAMA! NOT FOR FLIPPER AND GILLAGAN

It’s very telling the United Nations will now be monitoring the US election process. Rmoney and republi-can’ts have brought the United States to new lows in terms of corruption and fascist tactics. They are despicable and should be imprisoned en masse for treason.

And this is WHY the United Nations is sending people here to watch over our elections this year. 2012, the year that the United States of America, lost its credibility as the Nation of Democracy. Thanks Goodness that the U.N. was asked to come in and oversee. This shouldn’t be happening here, we are supposed to have freedoms, and laws regarding the vote. How could this party that has been crying from the rooftops that the constitution is under siege, do this? They are ruining this country and all it has stood for, for what.”The man who would be (According to the Mormon Church) King”? It is a sad day.

This plays right into Rethuglican ideology.
1. The opinions of non-republicans are inferior to those that support the GOP.
2. Those dang liberals do not deserve the same rights and priviliges as those who vote republican, why? Refer to statement #1.
3. Republicans always know what is best for this nation and should make these decisions for dumb liberals. Why? Refer to statement #2.
4. Government spending is only legitimate when it benefits republican causes (wars, tax breaks for wealthy, corporate tax relief, deregulation that benefits oil companies, the drug war.
5. Republicans demonize government spending of all kinds, except for when pertaining to spending in statement #4.
6. Government is too involved in the lives of individuals, and state laws and must not be allowed to get in the way of individual liberties (except when it comes to women’s reproductive rights, the drug war, and any other republican backed form of government intrusion.
7. The country needs small government asap to reduce the federal deficit(they mean destruction of government programs that protect and ensure the health and safety of the general public of course).
8. Government spending is an abomination and out of control (when a democrat is president only though, when Bush was president “deficits don’t matter.”).

The (publicly stated) rationale for all of the restrictive voter ID laws emanating from Republican-controlled state legislatures — “voter fraud”.
There is a world of difference between voting fraud (i.e., fraud perpetrated by the voter at the precincts on election day) and voter registration fraud. There is very little evidence for the former in the U.S. (other than that being perpetrated by O’Keefe’s not-ready-for-prime-time players), yet conservatives are hell bent on enacting legislation to combat it, suggesting an ulterior motive is at play.
Mailing out voter registration forms to non-eligible or nonexistent individuals is not, in of itself, election fraud. Completing and submitting said forms is a form of election fraud, but these acts would not affect an election unless the regional election authorities validated the registrations and then somebody actually attempted to vote using this fake registration.
If Republicans sincerely want to tackle real election fraud, then they should focus their efforts on deceptive practices used to prevent some citizens from voting, as well as what happens to the votes after they are cast.
In other words, election fraud DOES exist … except that the fraudulent party is not the voter:
- it is the political party tactician who attempts to mislead a subset of the public with respect to date and/or location of the voting process, or the hired thug who attempts to intimidate selected citizens who show up to vote,
- it is the opposition party’s tactical team which fronts faux candidates to run against an authentic party candidate in state primary elections,
- it is the contracted or county voter registration worker who throws out registration forms, or the state official who decides that some registration forms “appear” to be fraudulent (i.e., the last name ends in “-ez”),
- and it is the local election official who conveniently misplaces ballots or runs out of ballots at precincts that traditionally…
