Republicans Have Created Racist Frenzy With Baseless Obama Gun Confiscation Talk
An outburst characteristic of, or resulting from, a mania fit or spell of violent mental excitement is considered frenzy, and regardless the subject, it can be used to drive a group of like-minded people frantic with the right motivation. Hitler used anti-Semitism to drive good Germans into frenzy to advance the Holocaust, and in the Dark Ages, the Vatican used fear of witchcraft to incite superstitious Europeans into frenzy that resulted in innocent men and women being burned at the stake. In America, the NRA, Republicans, and so-called patriots are driving gun fanatics and racists into frenzy by asserting President Obama is on a mission to confiscate guns, invalidate the 2nd Amendment, and establish a dictatorship.
Ever since the tragic slaughter of twenty children and 6 adults in Newtown Connecticut, the NRA and so-called uber-patriot gun fanatics have ratcheted up fear that President Obama’s appeal for gun safety laws is the first step toward outlawing firearms that elicited threats of a civil or revolutionary war against the government. Many of the same people advocating for rebellion have also trumpeted a “coming race war” because an African American man occupies the White House. Over the past month, a plethora of right-wing maniacs began warning gun owners and racists the President’s gun safety proposals are a precursor to all manner of fallacious scenarios, but none as disturbing as the contention the President is raising a private black army to massacre white Americans, or that gun control is a devious plot to make it easier to massacre hundreds-of-thousands of unarmed citizens.
These allegations would be laughable except that with a large segment of the population fearful of losing their guns and freedom to a Black President, coupled with escalating calls for a race war, the prospect of frenzied, angry, and fearful Americans mobilizing and opening fire is becoming worrisome. The common thread in antagonizing gun owners to action is the result of over four years of NRA propaganda the President will seize Americans’ guns, and it provoked a tea party “Day of Resistance Rally” held yesterday, 2/23 to signify the .223 caliber round used in the Sandy Hook massacre, and to show their assembly was “against President Obama.” The rallies were scheduled to take place in 100 cities across America, and in at least one Pennsylvania city, the special day included an “open-carry walk.”
Last Tuesday, Larry Pratt, president of Gun Owners of America, asserted President Obama will start confiscating guns to provoke a violent response to justify further oppression, and incarcerate hundreds-of-thousands of gun owning patriots. Pratt also said the President is acting like King George III and will use his authority to “wipe those people out to set an example.” Another right-wing maniac concurred with Pratt and said “I believe they will put together a racial force to go against an opposite race resistance, basically a black force to go against a white resistance, and then they will claim anyone resisting the black force they are doing it because they are racist.” Pratt concluded the meeting of the minds with a warning to President Obama that “a lot of people resolved, that if Obama starts playing the massacre game the way you did at Waco, well, you’re going to get surrounded, you won’t be able to go home safely, your family won’t be safe.”
Last month, Buster Wilson of the American Family Association warned that President Obama was ready to establish a dictatorship and “start killing conservatives and Christians who oppose his administration” based on nothing more than an overactive imagination. However, all of these attempts to whip up armed resistance against President Obama, although insane, are in part because he won re-election, and like Republicans, right-wingers see their power and influence waning as more Americans understand the President is doing the job he was elected to do and looking out for all Americans. It is appalling that conspiracy theorists, disaffected evangelical maniacs, and gun fanatics incite fear and opposition to the legally elected President, but it has been a longstanding Republican practice. Last month Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell sent out a frantic letter to gun owners warning that the President was “coming to get your guns” to provoke opposition to the President, and not just gun safety laws.
The Republicans, teabaggers, and neo-conservatives are like dying, critically wounded beasts who will lash out at anyone, even if they are attempting to help them, and it explains conservatives voting against their own interests, and supporting Republican policies that benefit the wealthiest Americans and their corporations. Republicans have spent over four years portraying the President as a foreigner, and not one of us “real Americans” that Willard Romney propagated during his failed run for president, and it demonstrates the desperation of a minority of Americans whose opposition to the President is founded in racial animus and little else.
It is getting to the point that there is nothing this President can do that will not evoke outrage and opposition from a sick segment of the nation regardless their imagined sleights are non-existent. The teabagger claims of tyranny and loss of freedoms began before the President completed a full month in office, and Republicans and their money machine, the Koch Brothers, took advantage of racial bigotry to incite teabagger opposition with no basis in reality. In January 2012, Virginia Republicans warned that if the President was re-elected, it would start a revolutionary war, and the warnings of armed resistance, secession, and attempts at revisiting Confederate nullification are the result of a majority of Americans re-electing the President.
There is little doubt that with much more antagonizing, there will an armed conflict, and like any frenzied group, it will spread throughout sick, racist Americans who are looking for any reason to use their arsenals. One hopes such an eventuality never takes place, but if it does, Republicans will bear the brunt of the blame because if they had any interest in America, or the people’s security, they would have squashed the racial, un-American, foreigner rhetoric in 2009. However, they could not comport that the American people rejected their agenda and elected the President the first time, and with his re-election they are desperate, confused, and still provoking opposition for opposition’s sake with tacit support of racial animosity, gun fanaticism, and fallacious loss of freedoms that threatens to whip their supporters into frenzy that will result in armed conflict and not an electoral victory, and maybe that is their goal after all.

Even though the president actually extended gun rights during his first term, the GOP and the NRA have been beating this drum since 2009. But ever since the Sandy Hook massacre, which has led to visible and vocal support for sensible gun control laws, they have ratcheted up their incendiary rhetoric. Bringing race into it with this outrageous claim that the president is forming a black army to kill whites is a new low, even for them. They are a bunch of sick puppies who are far more concerned about having gun rights with no accountability than about the number of senseless gun-related deaths at the hands of folks who have no business with guns.

anyone see the kkk robes at a n.dakota high school b. ball game this weekend? the rise of the white hate is rising again, and as we know if you read any of the rw blogs, the hate of the prez/ flotus for being black, or even yahoo comments section, you see that this sub culture is thriving… they may hate the hispanics and blacks now, but next they will come again for the ‘jews’… history repeats itself.

Not only is the NRA and others trying to make people think their guns will be gone, our GOP is going right along with it.
By 2016 they will be saying they prevented Obama from taking peoples guns and we need to vote them into office. Religious fanatics climb on board cause some creepy god gave them the right to kill those who dont look like them.
These people are an embarrassment to civilization. People who count owning guns as their most important right are paranoid and stand right along side insane Wayne. The attempts to rapidly escalate gun idiots(as opposed to gun owners) will not end in the leadership of the GOP. At that point they will be insignificant.
This is not how to get into leadership GOP. This is how you lose it.

Wow if all that in the article is true its crazy. Us sensible people need to stick together. Keep common sense alive without blame. And just keep making good voting decisions. Some of these GOP and so called Christians are crazy but we can stick together and show otherwise. ;-)

The gross disrespect to the Sandy Hook massacre victims — women and small children– is part of the incitement. Women and children have traditionally been considered both vulnerable and deserving of protection: the message here is that vulnerability is not only not deserving of respect, but weakness, and weakness is utterly to be contemned. The contemptible weak are about to usurp the birthright of the strong by taking their instruments of domination away, and this is to be prevented at all costs, including armed insurrection and military coup. Make no mistake: the real movers behind this are creating a climate of hysteria so they can make a claim of legitimacy for such a power seizure, and if we don’t want to wind up being forced to drink that nauseous vintage called Pinochet, we can’t dismiss this as fringe rhetoric.

This article is correct. I happened upon a couple of far rightwing sites yesterday, and all commenters there totally believe they are going to “lose their guns”, and are definitely anti-Obama, and basically racist. They spew their vitriol and the worst ones get the most applause. I don’t know what can be done to counter their insanity, but something must be done in order to get through to them. I am getting afraid of what they are going to do.

The AR-15(Armalite=AR, Not Assault Rifle, as an assault rifle is a Fully Automatic weapon) type of rifle WILL be banned if the bill is signed into law, this type is the most popular firearm in the country, so all those that own them WILL BE LOSING THEIR GUNS. And lets remember this is about Semi Automatics, a 100+ year old technology, and guns that LOOK like a military weapon, this shouldnt be about LOOKS. The DHS bout 7000 fully automatic weapons and called the Personal Defense Weapons (PDW), which they stated was excellent for “Close Quarters Combat”, tell me how its a PDW when DHS owns it but a Assault Weapon when a citizen owns it?

And i also know that its illegal to so that, at least here in california, and yet theres still gang bangers who wanna have the biggest gun on the block, THERE ARE AK-47s out here and yes there are laws against them, the nature of a criminal is to commit unlawful acts, so no I dont want to be discriminated against because of criminals, If ANYONE owns a firearm they need to store it responsibly, but an unlawful act is solely on the person who committed it, where theres a will theres a way and these laws will genuinely make my possession of MY rifle a criminal act. I say NO. i will not pay foranyone elses criminal behavior any more than you would pay for mine. A weapon does one of two things, function or fail, nothing more.

@David. please learn to read before posting your deceptive lies and misrepresentations. No one has said that the ban would be retroactive to weapons already owned. I also believe that the WH has gone to great lengths to say that removing weapons from current owners was NOT a part of their agenda. You you paranoid gun nuts persist in saying this is so. Why? Is it that you need to somehow remain relevant when your position is untenable? I beg you all to join the real world and become an true american again.

Wheres their robes and pointed hats. Theres no difference in the KKK of the 20th century and the NRA, Republicans, and Teabaggers of today. It just bugs the hell out of them that a black man is in the White House. For the past 4 years they have tried everything from the war on women to the voting rights to futher thier old white men ways of thinking on the rest of us. We will not forget on 2014 and 2016.

No argument here about the Patriot Act.But congress passed it with a veto proof majority so the President had no choice but to signed it.It might not be right but that’s politics.I’m quite sure someone has challenged in court and the court upheld it.So that makes it constitutional.

That conservatives, media in general has always played on the fears of white America with the black boogeyman. The majority of people who receive assistance are white. But what is portrayed is the black women driving to pick up her steaks in her caddy with the gold rims. The majority of whites are the drug users but when its time to get tough all you hear about are the black gang bangers and the Mexican drug gangs coming to chop Susy q head off or worse, violate your honor.
So if you cant see the racial overtones in America then its because you don’t want to see them

Im sorry mister moderator, that made me laigh, i wont disclose my location, but i call it hicktown, USA. population under 4000, but just south of a 100,000+ population town so its a mix of city and country people, there is a LOT of racism and we have experienced numerous hate crimes. I for one try to refuse all arguments based on race, why? because its pointless. i dont trust any media site, mainstream or anything else, because everyone has an opinion that influences their thought, i choose to look at bills passed, action and inaction by the entire administration, for me personally it is an issue of constitutionality, before anything, the closest to race i will go is the discussion on his natural born citizen, but alas there is not enough information for me to even form an opinion abput that.

Feb. 24th, 2013 at 3:21 pm
If you would like to, research the hurricane katrina gun confiscation, and just forget about the 2nd amendmant aspect and think of the other rights it violates, think of the other amendmants still there and which are being tossed aside. Now im not saying this is gonna happen to everyone, not at all, but there are currently laws and actions being taken that potentially infringe on our inalienable rights, like that to property.

I am as Progressive as they come but I know a BS story when I see one. The .223 was found in the trunk of the car, it was shown on tv by the helicopter flying overhead when all the Mass State Police opened the trunk. Believing an AR-15/223 is the cause of this is ridiculous and wouldn’t have stopped the (legally) drug addled Mr. Lanza one iota. It’s happened before, it will happen again and none of the 20k plus laws throughout the country will stop the next one. The one thing the RWNJ have shown me though is the failure of my 401k to profit immensely from their craziness in making gun and ammo manufacturers outrageous amounts of capital!

Bigotry and prejudice has raised it’s ugly head. It is truly remarkable that the TEA-quest-traitors are still seeking methods to side step voting procedures, including disenfranchisement of voters to get their candidate into office. TEA-quest-traitors are desperate as they are now with sequestration hanging over the nation. Sadly, many still watch the FOX-hole for all political viewpoints, because it is not a news outlet. Subversion and combative nature has obliterated the once proud Republican party as too many John Birchers(B-1), Birthers(B-2), Evangelicals(E), Libertarians(L) and TEA-types(T) have taken over. The policies, issues and comments leave little doubt as to how these fringe elements would rule. Look closely at Texas and see how far down the tubes Texas has gone. Texas has the lowest wages and highest property taxes while the TEA-types have taken over local and state offices to fight and combat federal policies, rules and regulations. It is truly up to the voters of every state to carefully scrutinize their candidates and vote for middle class representation. “Sweep your state Capital CLEAN….in 2014″ “Sweep the House CLEAN….in 2014″ “Sweep the Senate CLEAN….in 2014″

U.S. Constitution – Article 1 Section 9
The privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in Cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public Safety may require it.
Meaning only Congress can enact it.Lincoln got in trouble during the Civil War over this issue
