Prohibition of any vice, and I consider porn to be a vice, does three things… 1) drives up demand, by making ordinary people want to buy the prohibited thing, 2) creates a criminal industry to meet that demand, and 3) makes the operators of that now criminal industry very very rich.

That is what happened under the 18th Amendment and in that particular case it also increased enormously the number of women who imbibed and the number of women who smoked.

Prohibition of recreational drugs has had the same effect and in the case of drugs the prohibition has driven millions of people out of the productive economy and into lives of crime. I cite as evidence the book “Licit and Illicit Drugs” by Edward M. Brecher and published by Consumers Union.
