Are Gays Even People to Rick Santorum?
It’s not exactly breaking news to announce that Rick Santorum has made some ridiculous comments about gays, but the way he framed his latest gay diatribe (perhaps it should be called a gayatribe since he does it so often), it makes me wonder if Santorum even realizes that gays are people.
“They’re in close quarters. They live with people. They obviously shower with people,” Santorum said on Fox News Sunday, with the “they” referring to the homosexual population of the military.
Notice that in Santorum’s world, gays live and shower with people, not live with other people or live and shower with the rest of the military. In other words, they’re not people themselves!
Ok–so maybe you have to take too literal of an interpretation of his language to believe that analysis, but he certainly made every attempt to separate the gay population from the rest of the population in his latest discussion.
Irrational statements are certainly nothing new from this poster child of hatred toward anyone with a sexual orientation that doesn’t happen to match Rick Santorum’s, unless you subscribe to Shakespeare’s famous quote “Methinks the lady dost protest too much.”
Regardless, this might not even crack the top-1o of the worst things Santorum has said about gays.
Here are a few of his best:
Hatred aside, maybe you’ve got to love a man who feels passionately about something. Just don’t love him too much; it might make him uncomfortable in the locker room of the local Y.

I said this yesterday, the Shakespere quote. Yes, I think he IS a closet homosexual. In that case just come out, Mr. Santorum and stop bashing gays. Better yet, strap on a gun and go to Afghanistan where THEY are fighting for your right to call them non people.

I’ve long wondered why Santorum keeps spouting homophobia so regularly. He’s devoted a lot of venom to issues surrounding sexuality, such as gays and reproductive rights.

Because he thinks the majority of the electorate agrees with him

no he doesnt.
he knows a small % of the people are fanatics over the issue and the rest dont care.
in fact while the vast majority of people really accept the idea of gay people they still would not want them around their kids.
there is no downside in this country for hating gays, blacks or immigrants.
thats why you see it.

Who doesn’t want “them” around their kids? You mean, Republicans? Damn right I don’t want them around my kids.

Understandably being republican he has no idea that love and marriage are two different things.
I have a feeling he has never seen the locker room at the Y, or else he had a good experience in one that he cant face

????? “They’re in close quarters. They live with people. They obviously shower with people,” Santorum said on Fox News Sunday, with the “they” referring to the homosexual population of the military”
What “THEY” are, are brave Americans who signed up on their own will to enter dangerous military situations in defense of America while pussies like Santorum stand at podiums questioning their place in society.
Most Americans will always support a brave soldier despite their sexual orientation over a closeted, self-hating, podium preaching, soon-to be-revealed queen like Rick Santorum.

I’d make a wager that this weasel will be caught some five years from now in a park restroom trying to pick up skater boys.

It sounds like a lot of projection going on. Santorum is positively obsessed with gays, to the point where he has very little to say about anything else. It probably helps to explain why his campaign is going nowhere.

One more thing ‘they’ do Rick….they VOTE, and not for bigots.

Brings to mind Pastor Ted Haggerd, remember him? Ricky is hiding something. Just because he has a boatload of kids, that does not make him straight. No self-respecting gay person would touch this guy with a 10 foot pole, he is WEIRD. Did he ever live at that house on J street with Coburn and Ensign and the others all living cheaply? Something is not quite right about his constantly harping on other people’s sexual orientation. Living in close quarters, sort of like the repubs. all huddled together dissing the President, sort of like THOSE close quarters,
Rick? He seems upset, did Mitch McConnell spurn his advances?

Rickey has an even bigger problem, most of the evangelicals that he hopes will vote for him don’t think her a christian.
Being a mormon or a catholic does not pass the smell test for the super duper christian conservatives
Are these republicans ever going to discuss the economy, or will this election be about who is or is not christian enough and how icky ricky doesn’t like gay sex?

Simple answer:
No, they are never going to discuss the economy. They can’t. It’s a dead end for them. The GOP has a horrible record and it grows day by day; every body knows it, even those who willfully choose to deny it. They can’t “go there”. Their little game of making the debt ceiling the economic plan was their final ruse and everybody knows it…everybody knows who keeps “stealing” and everybody knows who to turn to when things aren’t returned…with that said…
All they (GOP/Richie-Rich) have left is their pride, greed, anger, attachment and lust. They hit all the low points on every major religions “No-No” list. The formula is obvious to all who observe, dwell outside of the GOP-TP bubble (the other 90%).
Pride in that they can’t let themselves be wrong and must continue their rigid campaign that history shows as ultimately failing (see the prohibition eras parallel universe)
Anger in that they cannot control their emotions, vitriolic, violent rhetoric by constantly injecting it into our daily media and political discussions.
Greed…oh please, don’t make me go there as it’s too obvious to go into at length (see Sister Sara’s latest scam)
Attachment to a fundamentalist code of “no change” as that’s what fundamentalism is all about; these are not conservatives, but they are radical religious fundamentalist who will not give up pushing and punishing everyone who isn’t part of their authoritarian milieu.
Lust is for their certainty that they are right in trying to legislate sex, gender and birth. Again, look at how badly everything went for the entire country because protestant-evangelical “christian temperance cells (you probably call them churches)” organized to legislate morality …America went down the tubes in many, many ways from that day on. We had more corruption, job lose, a depression, on and on due to people just like Santorum legislating that alcoholism was a “sin” (about 10% of the population). And, what are the odds that only 10% of the population today is gay? (I’m speculating for the sake of arguement).
No, little Richie-Rich is not working against “satan” but for the bottom feeders who cannot get the monkey of the “bad behavior” off their backs. Sad little Richie-Rich is addicted to his own persona; it’s pathetic watching a grown man act out his personality disorders in public…but then again, when an addict has no where to go but down and out…they hang with the other bottom feeders…in the gutter.

…(and, I want to point out that I stayed above the waist in my opin of Richie-Rich. I did not make one, not one carnal-christian fart joke about Rim-shot Ricky…no. And, I would like to add,
I don’t feel his pain)…

So he wants the country and the constitution to be beholden to his personal hate fetish? Sounds reasonable to me, lol.
