Romney Called Out Scott Brown as the GOP Obstructionist He Is
Wednesday night during the first presidential debate in Denver, Mitt Romney said Scott Brown was sent to DC to stop ObamaCare, calling out Brown as a Republican obstructionist sent to DC to do the Republicans’ bidding. Scott Brown has been selling himself as a moderate Independent to the Massachusetts voters.
From CNN’s transcript:
ROMNEY: First of all, I like the way we did it in Massachusetts. I like the fact that in my state, we had Republicans and Democrats come together and work together. What you did instead was to push through a plan without a single Republican vote. As a matter of fact, when Massachusetts did something quite extraordinary — elected a Republican senator to stop Obamacare, you pushed it through anyway.
In a blue state, passing himself off as a bipartisan moderate is a must. Brown was still trying to sell himself as a moderate during his October 1 debate with Elizabeth Warren, but she wasn’t having any of it — little did Warren know Mitt Romney would assist her in outing Brown:
Brown danced around and call himself bipartisan again, and Warren hammered him for signing the Norquist tax pledge refusing to raise taxes on millionaires and billionaires. Warren hit Brown on supporting oil subsidies, and she leveled him for holding tax cuts for the 98% hostage unless taxes were cut for the 2%. Scott Brown got jeered by the crowd again by claiming that cutting subsidies for big oil would lead to higher gas prices. The debate segment ended with Brown finally admitted proudly that he is a fiscal conservative.
Mitt Romney didn’t mind taking Scott Brown down last night, by saying that Brown was sent to DC to stop ObamaCare. Anything to win.

Thank you Mitt for helping Warren in the MA Senate race.
Bet Scott Brown loves you even more today.
Next debate he will help the President. He can’t keep from
saying something stupid. He
made it thru last night on his lies. The Dems are not going to let that happen again.
Mitt thanks again for helping Elizabeth!

Well, Mr. Romney may have to explain to the Republican party why he caused them to lose a seat in the Senate.

It’s true, you can’t fix stupid. Romney does not get it that in that one paragraph he sang President Obama’s praises in getting the healthcare job done without help from republicans, and he outed Scott Brown as just another lying republican trying to pretend he is something that he clearly is not. We need to send him a thank you note.

I read comments on many websites, now I have read several comments made by people who genuinely feel
that Mitt Romney may have health problems (mental health) and they are afraid of someone like him becoming president. They are afraid, not only of the fact that he will say anything, whether a lie or not, but of the possibility that he may become unhinged and do some thing to endanger the country.

Many people are becoming afraid for Mitt Romney’s health (mental health) he has no issues with saying anything that comes into his head, even though it is always a lie. They worry that he may do something which will endanger the country.

Romney thinks he won the Presidency last night and is going crazy, saying anything he likes. I’d love to see Scott Brown take him down a peg or two by telling the truth (if that’s possible for a republican) about romney. Something along the lines of tax evasion, or taking the amnesty for the guilty money-hidders. And actually have the back up collaboration needed. Romney is on McConnell’s shit list now.

In the October 10th debate between Elizabeth Warren and Scott Brown, Brown admitted that he had signed the Grover Norquist pledge to never raise taxes, ever, for anything. And yet Brown has been asking voters to see him as a “bipartisan” Senator who will “work across the aisle.” Given that President Obama as well as many Democrats in the U.S. Senate have been calling for more revenue, from slightly higher taxes on the rich, how can Brown possibly negotiate with them in a bipartisan way? He has taken a most consequential option off the table. He has made it nonnegotiable.
