Romney Campaign Installs Curtains to Cut off Press on Campaign Plane
The Romney campaign put up curtains to separate the staff from the press on the campaign plane last night. Nia-Malika Henderson, a reporter from the Washington Post, tweeted a picture of the curtains.
Twenty minutes later, the campaign said the curtains would now not be used.
At 6:04 PM – 22 Sep 12:
Romney aides add new curtains to campaign plane today. Separating his cabin and staff cabin from press.twitpic.com/axdgyg
— Nia-Malika Henderson (@niawapo) September 22, 2012
Then, because this is the Romney campaign, at 6:23 PM – 22 Sep 12:
Romney aides now say curtains won’t be used.
— Nia-Malika Henderson (@niawapo) September 22, 2012
The Romney campaign can’t even commit to their clumsy attempt to block the press. Skittish much?
Perhaps her last tweet explains:
Campaign by the numbers Saturday: Romney spoke to 650 donors/voters in Cali. Obama had crowd of 18,000 voters in Wisconsin.

This is called “a very effective campaign” that does “not need a turnaround”.

So picture President R (I know, but humor me.) It’s January 22, 2013. VP Paulie proclaims that HE is ending Obamacare right this very second. Gone. Kaput. All you people who relied on it are on your own.
The outcry from the people can be heard in DC within minutes. R and Paulie have a quick meeting with Sheldon and the Kochs, and R appears before his podium in the hallway (he has already said he will not ever meet with the WH Press Corps because Ann thinks they are mean.) R announces that Obamacare has some good points, and that he and his advisors are going over the law to find them. They will let us know what they decide to do, and they plan to ‘work with Congress’ to make sure all Americans have access to health care. However, Mitt is the King, so HE will decide what stays and what goes, as soon as he is back from his first extended vacation in the Caymans sometime in March. But, you people will NEVER have contraception included in your plans. Viagra however, is now over the counter and free to white men of a certain age.

Willard hates being challenged or questioned about anything, which I suspect is the rationale for the curtains in the first place. I guess someone must have told him that it makes him look bad, which is why he walked back on that decision. However, the curtains are a metaphor for a deliberately opaque campaign that is devoid of specifics because as he said himself, if we knew what his policies would be we wouldn’t vote for him. He’s given ample reasons already to keep him out of office.

When someone says “revealing my policies would be political suicide” shouldn’t that tell people not to vote for him? It’s not necessary to know what they are to know that we won’t like them.

I suppose he’s figured out that the less he’s seen, the better he looks, and the less he’s heard, the better he sounds.

I get what you are saying about these curtains, but surely on Obama’s plan their is a place for privacy? Certainly there is on AF1. What are curtains gonna do unless they are sound proof or something? Are there gonna be orgies? IDK that this is that important. Maybe he’s tired of reporter looking at the back of his head… Lord knows he doesn’t respect them.

I wish Nia Malika Henderson or some other reporter would ask Romney if he got the amnesty in 2009 for his taxes.

Well as in any commercial plane first class is blocked off with curtains. So this tells me Romney and his advisers consider themselves first class and the Press Corp as low class.
Of course Air force One has private areas. But that is the President’s Plane. I’m sure he needs privacy for many reasons including National Security.
Too Bad Romney will never have the privilege to be President and fly on Air Force One.

No matter how many times they keep saying they are “running an effective campaign” it is not going to be true. As CEO of Bain, Mittens did NOT run a huge corporation. He is NOTHING MORE than a fancy pants salesman to politicians and gazillionaires who is clueless as to how to have a conversation with ANYONE who is NOT ein his employ in some capacity. I am willing to bet a “can of soup” cuz I ain’t Rmoney, that Queenie and Mittendork have ZERO friends and that is why they are always hanging out with their “family values”. They have no friends, but created an “illusion” using Ann’s gift of popping out male childbots and then have “Ann’s Boys” marrying femalebots who, by chemistry and dollars managed to reproduce “heirs” thus giving us the “illusion” of a crowd. “It is hard” to try to purchase the United States of America, right – QueenAnn of Mittendork?

All the Romney staff had to say to the reporters is something to the tune of “Little Mitten’s is tired and is going down for his nappy” and shut the curtain
so he could sleep…nobody would have thought twice about it.
But this…it smacks of the privileged First Class passenger game.

Snakes On The Plane – Part II
Romney thinks that curtain will protect him from the snakes in steerage. But we all know the real snake, the most dangerous one, is right there in first class.

Thank you all for these comments. They brought a much needed laugh to my face after reading so much malarky from the “untouchables” (only in their delusional heads) running against our beloved President Obama. The “nappy” one was quite funny as I’m sure keeping up the illusion that you’re campaigning for the “100%” gets stressful. These ideals of entitlement are so ridiculous and idiotic that more and more conservatives are being openly critical of this never ending fiasco. If it weren’t so serious it would be down right entertaining.

Romney sees the press, like the 47 percent (or the 99 percent, if you’ve read the latest coming out of Mitt’s campaign), as “you people”… you know, the ones who belong in the back of the bus.

That is because it reminds them that it is curtains for his election campaign.
