Obama’s Lead in Grows in Three Ohio Polls as Romney’s Jeep Lie Backfires
By: Jason EasleyOct. 31st, 2012more from Jason Easley
In days since Mitt Romney lied and said Jeep was moving production to China, Barack Obama’s lead has expanded in three different polls.
In the closest of the polls, the <a href="” University of Cincinnati found that since Romney claimed that Jeep is moving production to China, the contest has gone from 48%-48% tie to a 48%-46% Obama lead. In the latest PPP poll, President Obama has gained a point on Mitt Romney in the last three days. Since his Jeep lie, Romney has lost two points in the state, and the president now leads 50%-45%. In the Newsmax/Zogby Ohio tracking poll, Obama has increased his lead from 48%-45% to 50%-44%. In two other polls, Obama’s lead remains the same as it was last week. In the CBS News/Quinnipiac poll, Obama leads 50%-45%, and in the SurveyUSA poll, the president maintained a 48%-45% lead.
The best case scenario for Mitt Romney after he lied about Jeep moving production to China, then doubled down with a misleading television ad, and then tripled down with a lie filled radio ad is that he hasn’t lost any more ground to the president. However, it is clear that Romney is not gaining ground in Ohio, as the president has led the state in 20 of the last 22 polls. There is no momentum for Romney in Ohio. Three new polls show that Mitt Romney has lost support in the state since he decided to try to lie to Ohio’s voters.
The average of all polling in the state gives Obama a 2.4 point lead, but in four of the last five polls Obama’s lead is greater than the average. Mitt Romney’s tactical decision to try to scare voters into supporting him appears to be backfiring. Voters are more often than not in these polls moving away from Romney. He has been roundly condemned for his false statements by newspapers and other media outlets across the state and the country.
Voters aren’t stupid. They know the story of the auto bailout, and they don’t appreciate being lied to.
Romney’s ploy to win Ohio may end up backfiring and turning an Obama lead into a victory on Election Day.

One of the things that we all have to remember is that unlike previous candidates, this man is preternaturally calm. His campaign is focused, knows how to deliver on messages, and will, with absolute confidence, rebut ANY stupid lie Romney throws his way.
We who tend to panic and demand hype and uproar are always wrong. This candidate, this president, stays the course and delivers assurances to people who desperately need the truth – and who know it when they hear it.
He has obtained confirmation of his skill as president from top auto execs, from his adversary in New Jersey, from his opponent in Virginia.
That is what a statesman does, and that is how it is confirmed. Even your enemies acknowledge your concern and leadership. He has never put a foot wrong doing this, and he never will.

Why should telling a lie be of concern ot Mitt? His whole campaign has been a lie! And more over a full sack of lies and BS!
Anyone that votes for him, is a few french fries short of a happy meal!
He has not come across with one single thing that makes any sense other than to say he can do better than Obama. And he is a businessman! And that is debateable. Even his business partners disagree with that one!
So, where are the grounds to vote for him? He wants to change everything in Govt! Medicare, medicaid, planned parenthood, birth control, social security, FEMA, tax cuts for the middle class, and lets not forget he will give more tax cuts for the top 1%( all in the interest of jobs?) Well, they have had the tax cuts…and where are the jobs? In china! Even his Romney/Ryan teeshirts for the campaign were made in China! Obama’s were made in the USA! Was he looking out for USA jobs in manufacturing on that one? No, and will not lookout for them after the election either.
I ask again, who is looking out for YOUR interest? Bet if you don’t listen to the lies of the GOP…you can answer that question!

Mitt lies becasue he knows there are people out there who are desperate enough to vote for him, becasue they don’t have the faith and patients to hold on.
As I have said change is hard, it will never be easy. Remember faith is the substance of things hoped for. Remember Pres Obama’s book the Audicity of Hope. Why do you think he wrote it? becasue he knows what it is to hope have faith and to keep moving forward.

I think the only thing that could restore my faith in the American people and their capacity to actually think would be an overwhelming win by the president in Ohio that could be directly attributed to Romney’s latest lie. Jason you have given me hope.

I’ve been waiting for Mitt to Melt Down. It’s taken long enough. Let’s hope he hasn’t fixed the election boxes.

President Obama is like “The Little Engine That Could”! I have faith he will get us over this mountain of BS and lies of the GOP. The more I learn about the Mormons, the less I want any of them in control of our government. I don’t want any religion taking over our government. Believe what you want, but don’t force your religion on me. Religion is a choice, don’t tell me I have to believe it too. Separation! We don’t need “Sharia/Mormon” laws running our nation. Serving a Mission in France instead of fighting in Vietnam is not Patriotic Ann! Tell that to all the families that lost their kids in Vietnam. Money can’t buy you everything!

The really & truly astounding thing (well, one of them) is that Romney is not at all embarrassed that he gets caught flat-out lying. He just gets that smug little smirk & tells more blatant lies. Queen Ann (or someone) needs to wash his mouth out with soap.

Romney’s political posturing at the so-called drive for the Hurricane Sandy victims and his tripling down on the egregious lies about Jeep and Chrysler have undoubtedly turned off a lot of Ohioans. His frightening some workers into thinking their jobs were in jeopardy and his attempts to claim credit for the auto bailout while lying that the president didn’t do it are behind his lagging in the polls there.

romney thinks he can plant weeds and end up with flowers. He should be trailing by 10 in Ohio, MI, PA, and FL. His only hope is republican dirty tricks at the polls. I’s glad I’m in a mail in only state.

New polls from the University of Cincinnati/Ohio Poll and Gravis Marketing are also showing Obama with a lead. If you go back to polls released last week, than poll results from CNN/Opinion Research can also confirm this lead as well. pollheadlines.com
