Rush Limbaugh Claims the Fiscal Cliff is an Obama Plot to Wipe Out the GOP
The Democratic position of strength is bringing out a special brand of crazy on the right, as Rush Limbaugh is claiming that Obama is using fiscal cliff as a tool to achieve his goal of wiping out the GOP.
Limbaugh was warning Republicans not to negotiate with Democrats on the fiscal cliff. He was warning Republicans that Obama’s plan to reduce the deficit will lead to economic disaster, so they should not have anything to do with it.
It was all standard Limbaugh stuff until he said this,
The Republicans lost. Now, they still control the House of Representatives. Boehner still runs the show there. But the only leverage that I can see that they’ve got is to back out of this and make sure that whatever happens, they don’t have any fingerprints on it. I know what you’re saying, and you’d be right. You’re saying, “But, Rush, but, Rush, no matter what the Republicans do, they’re gonna get blamed for it.” Yes, totally true. No matter what happens. If there is a reported recession, in fact, it will be said to be the Republicans in the House fault. No matter what happens, that’s going to be said, and no matter what happens, as we sit here now, the American people, the majority of whom, are gonna believe that.
So back out of this and make sure you don’t have any fingerprints on this at all. “But, Rush, but, Rush, aren’t your fingerprints going to be on it if you back out? Couldn’t the case be made that Republicans backing out and letting Obama have his way is, in effect, allowing this transformation to happen, can’t you say there would be fingerprints there?” Yes. But I’m telling you there’s another aspect to this that Obama is attempting to pull off here, and if the Republicans aren’t careful, it’s going to happen. Not only is he not worried about a recession in the second term, ’cause even if there is one, it will not be reported as such.
Part of Obama’s transformation of America is wiping out the Republican Party. And anyone who fails to understand that that is also part of Obama’s agenda at this moment, anybody who fails to understand that is really not paying attention and is too caught up in traditional conventional wisdom about, “Well, it was just another election. Well, yes, Obama won. Yes, we marshaled our forces, but we need to stand for pro-growth policies and all that rotgut.” Yes, we do. There’s no way we’re ever gonna be tied to pro-growth policies if our fingerprints are on this coming disaster.
In Rush Limbaugh’s mind, the fiscal cliff that the Republicans created as a tactic to be used to defeat Obama is actually an Obama plot to wipe out the Republican Party. The only way that Republicans can avoid falling into Obama’s trap is to not negotiate or deal with the president at all. Limbaugh made this argument despite the fact that more Republicans oppose their own party’s plan than support it and the American people are ready to lay the blame on congressional Republicans if a deal doesn’t get done.
In short, Rush Limbaugh is urging Republicans to not fall for Obama’s devious plot that they created to destroy Obama.
Limbaugh is suggested that Republicans ignore what the voters said they wanted on Election Day (both parties to work together), and continue their obstructionist ways. I guess the voters’ desire for more bipartisanship and their rejection Republican policies are also part of the Obama conspiracy to destroy the GOP.
The truth is that it’s Rush Limbaugh, not President Obama who is destroying the Republican Party. If Republicans would at least be open to the president’s offers of cooperation and meet him halfway, they could be a lot more popular with voters.
The public reaction to the fiscal cliff isn’t an Obama conspiracy, but a rejection of the type of extremist right wing ideology that Rush Limbaugh preaches everyday.
The only way that the Republican Party will be wiped out is if they continue to listen to, and be directed by, Rush Limbaugh.

What fever swamp does Rush Limbaugh frequent to concoct these inane theories, based on projection? Didn’t John Boehner claim that he got “98% of what he wanted”? Didn’t the House Republicans force the debt ceiling debacle for forcing President Obama to create budget offsets in exchange for raising the debt ceiling for the first time ever, when they raised it without question or offset for Bush43? Didn’t the S&P report that accompanied the credit downgrade name the Republicans specifically for their unwillingness to consider raising revenue as part of addressing the deficit? How many Democrats signed the Grover Norquist pledge to not raise any new taxes?

Fed Up is correct. Rush should discontinue the medicene whether they are prescription or street bought.
The amount of obstructionism the country has had to endure the last four years is something you might hear about in a third world country. Yet Mr. Limbaugh continues to sell his hatred and madness to the audience and complain about the forward movement of “our” country.
The GOP does not want to admit to their provisional one way tactics of the Boys Club so they have continually stonewalled the President that we have elected. This time is different because the people again have spoken and the GOP’s future is in the balance. Look at President Clinton’s success…he had a surplus of 127 billion dollars at the end of his 2nd term when he left office in 2001, unemployment dropped from 7.5% to 4% by the end of his 2nd term and poverty fell from 11.8% to 6% in 1999. That was when the GOP worked a little bit closer with the administration. Imagine what President Obama can accomplish with the GOP simply stopping the hate crime on this President.
So please Mr. Limbaugh begin your rehab so the rest of our citizens have an opportunity to realize the real American Dream and “our” President can continue to do the job he was elected for!

I really thought he was going to lose his talk show when the advertisers started pulling out, but I’m still waiting. There has to be something done about people (?) who use the media as a public forum to spread gigantic lies and hatred. Until the time returns that News (?) programs are made to return to the truth if they want to call themselves news, we have to use the only weapon available to us. Boycott, Boycott, Boycott! And call or E-mail whatever sponsors he has left and let them know why you are boycotting them. In lush’s world money speaks much louder than he will ever be able to do.

There are people working around the clock to alert advertisers that their ads support hatred, misogyny, bigotry, and bullying. The folks working to Flush Rush and StopRush are active on Twitter and Facebook and not only tell advertisers their ads play, they LISTEN to this pompous windbag every day to find those advertisers!

I’ve been saying that for months. It is treasonous to make a pledge to anyone if you are an elected official, let alone some self-satisfied lobbyist who has never been elected to any office and is beholden not to voters, but to corporations. Treason? yes. Can anyone imagine the outrage had a Democrat signed a pledge to end all wars? Or never vote for a bill that sent money overseas? My God, like Weiner, he’d have been out on the first bus.

as an outside i can see that America is really divided, first being the skin colour factor, the GOP really pisses me off with there hatred towards the President, on yesterdays news (Daily Mail) Beck was seen auctioning a jar of pee with an Obama doll in it, how disgusting is that?, is that the way they show example to there kids?, whenever i hear Rush, McCain, McConnell, Palin, Hannity or O’Reilly speaks i get this sickening feeling inside my stomach, i dont really know President Obama to judge him but man those idiots on Fox are really pathetic with there constant attack on Obama, i give my greatest respect to President Obama for not taking the bait, he has handled all the personal attacks with grace & dignity.

I’ve never seen the country as divided as this (obviously we were pretty divided during the time of the Civil War but I wasn’t there – I’m not that old!). It is a shame because I really do believe that America is full of good, decent people but there are the loudmouths like Rush who brainwash their listeners and it just turns otherwise good people into…I don’t know what, haters I guess is the only word. The President has maintained an air of dignity and I imagine that ticks off the fright wing even more. He’s not taking the bait and as you said, they’ve been waving a lot of bait in front of him. It’s just a shame that when we’re facing such problems economically, we can’t get our act together and put our differences aside for the good of the whole.

The suburbs are booming, but not fast enough. Yessir, you ghetto folks
in inner cities have started a good thing, but there are still lots of acres
outside the cities without any houses on them. So you’ve gotta move into
“untouched” city blocks and do the following:
Throw trash everywhere. You’ll insure that your friends who pick up trash
and distribute free rat poison packets will keep their jobs. And folks can
predict the weather by the direction the trash is blowing!
Walk down the street. Better yet, rhythm down it. And when I say street
I don’t mean sidewalk. Save sidewalks for your friends on cycles. Besides,
it’s hard to fit many cursing, screaming, drinking, pot-smoking kids on a
sidewalk, and it’s also hard to spot keys and other things left in cars when
you’re walking on a sidewalk!
When walking down a street, turn your head when you hear a car coming
and stare at the driver. For all you know, it might be one of your enemies
out to get you. On the other hand, it might be only your neighbor and all
that hateful staring might make him want to move out.
Be sure to beget lots of unloved, unsupervised, unwashed two-legged
“Obama welfare meal tickets” – either through wedlock or (preferably) out of
wedlock. And let them often ring doorbells, begging for money.
Turn quiet streets into noisy jungles. Have a blast – a
long blast with your car horn under your neighbor’s window at
3:00 a.m. Let folks know who the real honkies are! Blow your horn when (1)
you see the police coming (2) you want to buy some dope (3) you want to sell
some dope (4) for any other reason. Play your stereo so loudly that folks can’t
