Rush Limbaugh Claims Obama is Using Facts and Polls to Suppress the Republican Vote
On his radio show today, Rush Limbaugh claimed that any poll that shows Obama leading is an attempt to suppress the Republican vote.
Transcript from Rush Limbaugh:
So now it’s not a referendum on Obama. It’s a choice between two guys, which means, of course, whatever Romney says matters. I’m here to tell you, folks, you have got to stay bucked up. The effort to depress you and keep you home, I’ve never seen it like this before in my life. I have never seen this intense an effort by the Democrat machine, including the pollsters, and it’s sucking in a lot of our media. A lot of conservative media’s getting sucked in by this. They’re buying it ’cause they get caught up in the bubble that is the world as created and defined every day by the mainstream media. Their lives hinge on polling. And of course the polling, if you look carefully, you can find flaws.
The polls are just being used as another tool of voter suppression. The polls are an attempt to not reflect public opinion, but to shape it. Yours. They want to depress the heck out of you, and they want to suppress your vote. The polls are of adults, registered voters. Let me tell you the polls that count, and those are the polls a couple of weeks before the election. That’s when the pollsters worry about holding onto their credibility. Those are the polls that everybody remembers. Nobody’s gonna talk about what Public Policy Polling said in a poll in Ohio on September 10th. They’re gonna worry about what Public Policy Polling said a week before the election, and that’s when Public Policy Polling, a liberal group out of North Carolina, is gonna tell you what’s really going on.
So if you like polls, forget about ‘em until two weeks before the election, because these now are being used specifically to depress you, to hang you up, to get you not voting, to get you mad at Romney. They want you to think Romney’s horrible; Romney’s worthless; Romney’s not conservative; Romney’s selling you out; Romney’s this or that; the election’s not about Obama at all.
Here’s the way this works. Any poll that shows Obama leading is an obvious attempt to suppress the Republican vote. Any piece of data collected that does not favor Mitt Romney is obviously a media conspiracy designed to help Obama win. Limbaugh is ignoring criticism that Nate Silver has been getting from the media today for daring to share with the world that his modeling indicates that the Obama has a really good chance of winning the election.
Rush Limbaugh was telling his audience that facts, statistics, and reality are a conspiracy against them. They should ignore the empirical data and all of its findings that this election is moving towards President Obama. It is all just a conspiracy by Obama to try to get them to stay home.
The polling itself indicates that President Obama has done such a good job making this election about Mitt Romney that voters now see it as a choice between two candidates. On the other side of the coin, Romney did such a poor job trying to turn this contest into a referendum about Obama that none of his arguments have been able to gain much traction.
According to Rush Limbaugh, polling and facts are the same thing as voter purges and voter ID laws. The media is trying to suppress the Republican vote by telling conservatives just how badly Mitt Romney is failing. This has nothing to do with what a lousy candidate Mitt Romney is.
It is all about Obama trying to steal this election by filling voters’ heads with facts.

“It’s a choice between two guys, which means, of course, whatever Romney says matters.”
So, what are you saying, Limpballs — that what Romney says DOESN’T matter?
“They want you to think Romney’s horrible; Romney’s worthless; Romney’s not conservative; Romney’s selling you out; Romney’s this or that; the election’s not about Obama at all.”
Well, Limpy, this may sound crazy, but — in a TWO-person contest, it usually IS about one as much as the other . . .

Rush’s true feelings about Romney:
“Romney’s horrible; Romney’s worthless; Romney’s not conservative; Romney’s selling you out; Romney’s this or that; the election’s not about Obama at all.”

You can tell he just talks off the top of his head. That’s a good thing, though. He can’t hide his ignorance, bigotry beliefs, hatred of women, and bullying ways. Most of his ranting circles in on it’s self. Funny.

It is all about Obama trying to steal this election by filling voters’ heads with facts.
And the facts, as we all know, have a well-known liberal bias . . .

Hahaha. Too funny! Hey, facts are facts — just because you don’t like them doesn’t mean they’re biased or the media that reports them is biased. But go ahead and believe those fantasies if it makes you feel better.

Claire, are you related to JoAnne Pisapia, who was working at the Medisonics plant in Mountain View, CA, in 1978? I’m the person who won three dinners, a houseplant, a stack of Playgirl magazines, and a Playgirl calendar by betting on the New York Yankees. They didn’t believe me when I told them that if the Yankees make it as far as the series, you don’t bet against them.

If facts are suppressing the Republican vote then it means they have CHOSEN not to vote, unlike where Republicans have put in Voter ID laws giving some people who would vote Democrat no choice at all, since they can’t afford the ID. Facts really do have a liberal bias, don’t they?

This guy is an entertainer who makes tons of money spouting his opinions. He says whatever will make him the most notorious. Only s liar would suggest that facts are getting in the way of his parties way to win.
This is so backwards, just like Ayn Rand’s ideas are so crazy too.
The world would be a better place if he just dropped off the map. off the grid, gone to Canada like he promised.

Response to Rush Limbaugh’s Claims Obama is Using Facts and Polls to Suppress the Republican Vote
Facts are always TRUE. They can be proven to be TRUE. I am a recently retired 3rd, 4th, and 5th, grade teacher. Teaching my students to correctly distinguish the difference between a fact and an opinion was one of the objectives of No Child Left Behind that my students always mastered. Rush, if you will go back and check an elementary school No Child Left Behind end of year Reading test, you will find that all facts are true.

Umm… Facts are not always true. “The moon is made of cheese” is a fact, but it is false. In common language, we often substitute the word “truth” with “fact,” but in the strict sense of the fact vs opinion dichotomy you presented, facts are not always true.

I’m afraid that’s too advanced for Limpballs’ educational level {and apparently James’, too.}

Gosh James, I’d really be embarrassed to have my name associated with that dumb statement.. in public even..!
BTW.. Webster’s New World Dictionary:
fact – n – 1) something which has actually happened or is TRUE; 2) That state of things as they are, reality; actuality; truth.

Rush is trying to assist the high level republican (wish I remembered his name!) who began the day by telling conservatives to ignore the polls. He can always be depended upon to coordinate with the movers and shakers in the GOP. This type of coordination has been very useful to the GOP in keeping their message resonating in their echo chamber and in ensuring that they keep their supporters insulated from the truth. The real reason for the polls moving in PBO’s direction is that for the first time in years, the American people have the opportunity to hear from the president himself instead of hearing the manufactured lies of GOP pols, and many are aware that if Romney/Ryan’s lips are moving, they’re lying about something. I don’t think it has helped that Romney has refused to release all of his 2010 and 2011 tax records, or that neither he nor Romney are willing to discuss any of the specifics of their policies. If conservatives are angry or depressed, they have only themselves to blame. I’ve watched them for over 40 years as they have willingly and gleefully bought the lies of republican politicians simply because they liked the way they looked or the fact that they say ugly, vicious things about their political opponents. They’ve exerted very little effort toward taking an indepth look at what their policies mean to them, their families, or the nation. Republicans refused to take a long hard look at who/what GWB was and voted for him twice. The nation in 2008 was worse off than it was in 2001. Republicans are still refusing to fact the fact that GWB was one of our nation’s worst presidents, but they’re only fooling themselves. The fact that GWB isn’t out stumping for Romney, and that republicans seem to have forgotten he was President #44 tells me that they know they made a mistake. They don’t want anyone to remind them that they voted to put someone in the WH whose main attraction was he was someone they’d like to sit down and drink a beer…

Romney IS horrible; Romney IS worthless; Romney IS not conservative; Romney IS selling you out
if the situations were reversed and Romney was ahead in the polls, Rush Limbaugh would be happy as could be. This is just Limbaugh’s way of saying that the Republicans are in trouble

It has taken far too long to hear Democrats and other liberals, including liberal news to start to tear Limbaugh apart. I listened to him a long time. He always said there was no liberal who could outtalk him on the radio although they tried. Now I’m hearing real critique about what Limbauhg says. How he manipulates and tells bald-faced lies. But it’s not just about what he says, but how he says it. He comes from an arrogant stance “I’m the one everybody should be listening too.” “I’m a messenger from God.” “I can outwit them with two hands tied behind my back.” “This is the golden microphone broadcasting the truth to the world.” I’m not exactly quoting him. He also associates himself with big names. He very boldly taunts the women of West Palm BEach, (wealthy, exclusive, snobby WPB)criticiaing them or making them the fault for not being able to knock the whole out of the balloting cards in 2000 Presidential election. And he has mean titles for women or groups he want to put down. “Soccer Moms!, for instance. He has a fantastic memory, I give him that. He must have a very high IQ and he knows it and flaunts how smart he is. And he always talks down to listeners. Unfortunately, most of his listeners, consequently, take that as a sign he really does know who to vote for, a Republican. They listen to him like a God. It’s that old “faith” thing. God/faith. You don’t question God. You take God on Faith. Like the “Emperor has no clothes”, I long for the day he finds out he has no clothes.

Rush the 10,000 Liar–FAIR edited 4000 hours of his transcripts and avg over 2 per hour
MIDDLE CLASS BROKE BROKE
Burdened with record debt
Wages not keeping up with costs
OWNED by Top 10%–who own 73% Net Wealth—83% Financial Wealth-Take 50% Individual Income
We must get Spending down but just as important get Revenues up to eliminate deficits and start paying down Debt.
It will take real Leadership to do it. Obama cannot do it with a Republican House or Filibustering
Senate.
Obama American Jobs Program was killed by Republicans for no other reason than not let Obama have any success. It was a disgrace. When will these people start Putting People First.
We must go back taxing wealth. We did it 1945-1980 to pay off WWII Debt. We can do it again
to pay off Reagan + Bush II created Debt.
The goal must be fair and more economically just and equitable for all the people.
It will never get done as long as Wealth controls our Congress
TAKE BACK OUR GOVERNMENT

Obama is using facts? Thank God we don’t have to worry about Rush, the tea-baggers or the Republican party doing anything so radical as using ‘FACTS’.
On another note; Haven’t you said you were leaving the country on a couple of occassions? Then why are you still here? Oh, Republicans and right-wing wackos don’t have to keep their promises….
